My first lesson with Zach was great! 5 stars. He asked the right questions as to what aI am looking to do. And we quickly came up with a lesson plan that with the right amount of work in my part will get me headed in the right direction. Zach does a great job of making his students feel comfortable and good about their abilities.

I am an pianist, improviser, composer, and music theory geek. I love jazz, classical, and rock music. Whatever style of music you want to learn, I will show you how to move toward your goals.

I love working with adults and kids alike! I can teach basic piano skills and classical technique, and for more advanced students I can teach jazz, improvisation, and composition. For every student, my goal is to make lessons fun by teaching you the music you want to play.

I have been playing the piano since preschool and have a B.A. in Music from the University of Minnesota.

Playing piano is one of my favorite things to do so I'd have quite a fun time teaching you. What I teach on piano will help you understand a diverse range of instruments and even genres, and, I think, teach lessons that carry over into life.

About Paul

I have played piano my whole life, and I also play guitar and trumpet. I love jazz, classical, contemporary, and rock music and many other diverse styles. I am an improviser, composer, and music theory enthusiast, very in touch with the creative side of music. I’m easygoing and patient. I put t

With 10 years of teaching piano lessons and 3 degrees in piano, I have both the expertise and experience to provide a uniquely tailored learning environment to piano students of all ages and levels. Teaching excites me because it gives me the opportunity to find out each student's individuality and to help them reach their inner potential. Since student goals vary from wanting to play chord charts in a garage band to aspiring to become a concert pianist, I do not have a rigid teaching method - rather, I tailor it to each student. Beyond the fundamentals of technique and reading music, piano lessons with me include focusing any amount of the following: classical, improvisation, composition, theory, jazz, popular styles, hymns, etc... I can't wait to begin guiding you on your musical journey with the piano!

About Ozzie

I am a pianist and a passionate teacher of pianists of all shapes and sizes. The joy of playing the piano is one that my skills as a teacher help me infuse into my students. I also find it to be quite a positive feedback loop for me: teaching makes me want to hone my own skills and playing well giv

Ozzie taught our children piano for two years prior to his moving out of state. We wish that he still lived here—he was the best piano/music teacher we have ever had! He’s very good with kids and knows how to motivate them. He has a love and passion for music that is infectious. He selected great pieces for our boys to play that we enjoyed listening to in our home. Both of our boys benefitted immensely from Ozzie’s instruction and I would highly recommend him for lessons for your child (or you)!

I began playing the piano when I was 3 years old in Japan. I have the Yamaha certification of piano instructor, which I passed the exam when I was 16. I played in many music festivals held in the city as the pianist and competed in many youth competitions.

I was diagnosed with tendinitis when I was 15 and I was unable to play competitively after that. However, I still enjoy playing the piano and love teaching the joy of being able to play the piano to let the heart out. It’s relaxing and exhilarating at the same time.

In addition, practicing the piano is great for brain development especially for younger children. However, it doesn’t matter if you are young or old, playing the piano is great for brain health and mental health as well. I look forward to working with kids, adults or seniors!

About Ai

Hello, I am truly enjoying teaching every student of all subjects I teach. I enjoy meeting a variety of students and getting to know how unique each of them is. Currently, I teach Japanese, English and piano. I’m very grateful for all the students I’ve taught. Much as I teach them something, they’v

"Fawn is the one who revolutionalized my voice. I was singing off pitch and she was able to get me completely on pitch. She helped me fine tune my songs and record my songs in the studio. Even though we are on different coasts and she was on the computer in the studio, she has an excellent ear and valuable input, and when I was off, she was able to get me back on track. She is honest and works easily and professionally with my producers and engineer and the end result is excellent. I performed 3 songs this year and was paid $400. I think that's pretty great for a beginner. If you have Fawn on your team, you're sure to be a success."

"Our sons go to Ms. Stewart’s group ukulele and piano classes and we’re so happy we found her. The boys love her and are learning so much. If you are looking for a patient and warm teacher who actually knows what they are talking about, contact Ms. Stewart. We went through 3 teachers to get to her. I wish we were referred to her first. Our kids will be moving to private lessons in August."

How to Read Sheet Music for Piano: A Visual Tour

As you learn how to read piano sheet music, a whole new world opens up! Instead of just black dots on a page, you'll see beautiful melody and chords right before you. Here, piano teacher Nadia B. takes you on a helpful visual tour...    One of the most interesting things about learning piano is that it’s truly like learning a new language – just as you learn how to decode words on a page to read them aloud, you are learning to unlock the symbols on the page to play music. It’ …
