I am a professional full time Trombonist. At the same time, teaching has always been a big part of who I am - I love teaching. My music career has taken me around the world and back but more than that it has given me a wonderful tool of self expression, and for that I am forever grateful. My band performs regularly in Opera houses as well as coffee houses... Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt. I feel very confident teaching Trumpet up to the advanced level. This is pretty much standard practice within the brass family :)

About Reut

Hello there! I am a trombonist and teacher, with many years of experience teaching Hebrew as well as music. As a music teacher I have worked with children starting from private lessons to young children beginning to learn, up to master classes in universities worldwide. I love teaching, and I

//clinician, professional trumpet player & maker// Over the past 26 years I developed my own technique and teaching methodology how to play brass instruments the most efficient way.

The lip is the sound source which creates a standing airwave within the instrument and the trumpet functions as a filter and amplifier.

I also developed a special tongue technique which requires less movement when phrasing notes ( single, double and triple tongue) and therefore is faster, requires less effort, is very versatile, usable in any style of music and is much more accurate in hitting the notes.

If you understand these two aspects and are able to implement them you perform better with practicing less.

I cover all aspects of trumpet playing ( technique, breathing, posture, embochoure, equipment, phrasing, sight reading, improvisation, high range, endurance, sound quality, repertoire etc.).

We feel lucky to find Mr. Jerry V. as our 12 year old son's trumpet teacher. His course is very well structured and planned, using classical training materials covering various basics and skills my son needs to learn and master to make step by step progresses. His teaching is efficient and effective, with beautiful demo, which is very important for his student, especially young ones. His practice assignments are also well designed and planned, with which my son has been making solid progress. He is also very easy to communicate and is nice and kind. With the well structured course, assignments, experienced and professional teaching, an excellent trumpet player himself, we are happy with Mr. Jerry V, and will keep him as long as possible.

"Trumpet Lessons

My son wants to play trumpet in the jazz band at school so he asked for lessons over the summer. I’m so glad we found Jordan. He welcomed us right in and worked so well from that first moment. My son is a bit shy, so I’m so grateful that he found learning from Jordan so easy. In fact, every time he came out of a lesson, he asked for more lessons! The feedback from Jordan has been nicely detailed so we know where he is improving, where to focus his practice sessions (and reminding him to practice), and giving suggestions of music to listen to, to make him notice that the learning isn’t just practicing, but listening as well. Jordan clearly knows and practices what he teaches. My son also mentioned that he really appreciates the times when Jordan plays along with him during the practice. Thanks Jordan!"

Private Trumpet Lessons Near You

Perhaps the most celebratory of all instruments, the trumpet is often heard in sporting events, school assemblies, and patriotic music. However cheerful, the trumpet is also used in somber military ceremonies with the playing of Taps.

Apart from its place in pomp and circumstance, the trumpet is quite versatile. It covers the highest register of all brass instruments and plays an important role in orchestras and bands around the world. It's used in a range of musical genres from classical concertos to modern jazz, swing, ska, Latin, and pop.

The trumpet's ability to produce a deeply striking tone has allowed it to play a major role in the history of music. It's one of the oldest instruments, and the trumpet's ancestors (ancient horns) can be traced back thousands of years. Need more reasons to learn the trumpet? Let’s go over some of the benefits of playing this remarkable instrument.

Why Learn to Play Trumpet?

When you think of famous jazz era musicians, trumpet players mostly come to mind — Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Chet Baker, to name a few. One of the best ways to become the star of a musical show is to learn trumpet!

It's one of the loudest instruments in any orchestra or band. So it often carries the melody, which means trumpeters get to play the bits of songs that inspire audiences to sing along. Playing the trumpet not only puts you in the spotlight, it also imparts lots of health benefits.

Creating the signature buzzing tone of the trumpet requires immense lung capacity and core strength. As a result, playing trumpet improves your breathing and posture, which are both fantastic for your health.
