Recording lessons focus on work in ProTools, Reason, and supporting music production software. The process of setting up equipment and running the audio for shows is taught and reviewed. In addition, listening and audio analysis are a main focus as well as the technology involved in the recording industry.

About Loretta

I have always been fascinated with how music is created and who works behind the scenes of performances and recordings. I started playing the flute in elementary school, piano in junior high school, and singing in high school. Once I got to UMASS, Dartmouth I chose the Music option for my major. I

In music recording lessons, we will focus on learning Pro Tools and other DAWs in a hands-on setting. I provide students with editing exercises and songs to mix and master that we will work through together. We can also discuss miking techniques, signal flow, post-production techniques, ear training, and acoustics. I tailor each lesson to the student's interests and to help the student achieve their goals.

About Summer

I believe that the most important aspect of teaching music is creating a positive and individualized learning environment while simultaneously teaching the necessary technique and knowledge to play your instrument both successfully and confidently.   Above all, our lessons will focus on reaching

My daughter is so happy with her lessons from Summer. She does a great job individualizing the curriculum, and even making the more monotonous parts engaging. Highly recommend.

I have always wanted to learn to play the piano. At the age of 50 I decided it was a perfect time! I picked Summer and it was the best choice I ever made!! She is such a great , patient teacher. She explains every thing so thoroughly that I had no problems understanding her! I caught on and achieved my goal of playing my favorite song, "Claire De lune" and more, I may not sound like a concert pianist, but I am proud of my accomplishment. It never would have happened with out such a fabulous teacher!
Peyton
This is from my daughter who is taking lessons with Summer: “Summer has really helped me learn guitar. I have learned 20 songs now with her and she speeds things up if it is too easy and she lets me learn another song if one is too hard. I like her a lot.”

Stop wasting your time - take Robert.

I only had the pleasure of taking piano lessons with Robert for two months since I got into Harvard and had to move to the East Coast, but I can confidently attest that he is a phenomenal teacher. To begin with, Robert brings to the table not only his classical training but also an open, creative, out-of-the-box approach. He is extremely knowledgeable and seasons lessons with fantastic facts about composers and pieces which makes everything a lot more interesting and memorable. lessons are versatile and designed to develop several key skills simultaneously. I never really played the piano before but after only two months with Robert I could read notes, develop my technique and actually play two beautiful pieces! If you are looking for a well-rounded, brilliant, cool teacher - search no more.

Candida is a very learned and talented vocal teacher. She has a vast amount of knowledge and is constantly expanding her understanding of vocal technique and pedagogy. This includes not just Western signing technique, but also an understanding of the importance of diverse and inclusive technique and de-colonizing classical singing technique.

Candida has identified the techniques I use when I sing and has suggested ways to improve while also constantly checking in to see how I want my voice to sound. She has been encouraging even during the times I lost motivation, and she has put so much work into our sessions. Candida created a personalized lesson plan with me to help keep my notes and progress organized. She has had to think of many different ways of presenting information to me when I have not understood how to use my voice in new ways, and she has never failed to find a way to explain how to create sound. Candida’s teaching does not simply focus on the voice but focuses on mental and physical wellness that is necessary in order to understand how to use the voice. I would recommend Candida to anyone.
Hai
Candida is a great instructor and has really helped me to develop and learn about my voice. She is very knowledgeable and gives me the right technique/tool/exercise and feedback that I need at each junction of my singing journey. My experience has been fun, interesting, enlightening and even surprising at times. I totally recommend her!
Bea

I started learning Ukulele with Kevin and then picked up Guitar lately, Kevin has a systematic way of teaching, instead of covering each and every chords, he summarizes them by different shapes, and also their variations, so you can memorize the basics and find their "relative" chords easier. He also taught music theories, how each chord is formed, and if you want to play a specific song, he's also glad to help on finding the exact chord and transfer them into different notes that suits you. Definitely have your notebook ready since there's a lot to learn. The harder thing for myself is with the online class, it's not as efficient as a face-to-face one, I also tend to be less motivated to practise but you ought to just find your own motivation!
Jennifer Closson
I have been involved in singing for many years now and I can tell you that Kevin knows what he is doing with his special skills teaching voice and guitar. I feel lucky to have found him and I hope to continue learning from him for a long time.

Kevin offers helpful advice and insight. An instructor with a deep understanding of music, he demonstrates a great ability to guide new students. He brought clarity to problems I experienced as a new guitar player. I highly recommend inviting Kevin into your music journey.

No matter the software you use to learn how to record music — Ableton, Logic Pro X, Ignite, Pro Tools, or another — it's easy to get overwhelmed fast, once you discover the sheer number of features and tools included in these behemoth digital audio workstations (DAW). In addition to selecting and learning software, you'll also be faced with setting up your home studio and choosing hardware and recording equipment.

When your musically creative mind's bursting at the seams, you shouldn't have to worry about wasting money on the wrong DAW or equipment. You shouldn't have to muck through the trial and error of perfecting your processes. With a private music recording teacher, you'll be able to make all the right choices, from the start, as you procure beginner or professional-grade recording equipment and learn to engineer your unique sound design inside your new DAW.

Why Learn How to Record Music?

Aside from learning for the sheer pleasure of making your own audio artwork, you'll find a plethora of professional opportunities available for composers, songwriters, sound engineers, audio designers, producers, and more across a variety of industries.
