Personalized lessons to discover how music fits into your self and your life
Lessons in the performing arts are a journey of physical and spiritual awareness. The studio is a place where you come to discover how music fits into your Self and your life. Born in the Midwest, I spent seven graduate years in Paris performing, teaching, and researching music. To beginners: anyone at any age can learn basic piano skills if they devote ten minutes a day to it. To intermediate players: my goal is to train you to be your own primary teacher. To advanced students: I can give you artistic colors for the palette and tools for the journey. In-person students take lessons on a Kawai grand piano. Currently, I can only take new students taking lessons on a weekly basis.
About Laura P.

Music is personal and brings us into contact both with ourselves and with a force beyond us. I am passionate about the spiritual awareness that results from the study of performing arts. I have worked with ages 3 to 75, with kids, youth, and adults with ADD, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, cerebral palsy, selective mutism, substance abuse challenges, and those recovering from strokes. I have worked with professional teachers, mediators, and bank managers, as well as with college-degree-seeking music students, middle- and high-schoolers, and gifted children. Right now I am only able to accept students on a weekly lesson schedule.

She added to my musical knowledge by helping me express myself through technique.

My girlfriend and I are both total beginners who had never/rarely sung in front of other people before, but Laura makes us feel super comfortable! I thought it would be a challenge to do singing lessons with two different people, but she gives both of us attention and great tips. She is very knowledgeable and encouraging, and we're both learning a lot! Thank you so much!
