My 7 year old loves music and has shown an affinity towards playing the drums! Brent has been an awesome teacher and has so much patience working with easily distracted kids. He is always encouraging my son and show him both the fun side and the more technical side of playing the drums. We look forward to continuing our lessons with Mr. Brent, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn how to play the drums

Brent has created a wonderful learning environment for both of my kids. Although they are at very different stages of learning, Brent has been able to meet them individually where they are in their processes. Brent’s approach is calm, engaging and fun. Both kids look forward to learning more each week.

I work with students on developing the musical fundamentals that will let them explore any genre they're interested in, whether they dream of playing Beethoven sonatas, keys in a rock band, or hymns at their church.

Music lessons should be fun, encouraging and full of music that you love. They are an opportunity to learn something new, show your improvement, and receive correction, encouragement and praise. Students and instructors should play together frequently throughout and the time should be balanced with theory, technique and exercises, sight-reading, and performance and seasoned with introductions to a variety of music and styles. I like to encourage students to play because they love to play and to find the music that is an integral part of their soul, then to share that with others through performance. What do you want to do with or gain from your music? We will work toward your goals.

About Jennifer

Music is a huge part of my life and I love sharing that with others. Helping and seeing others discover and develop their talents and find joy in music is something I love. I come from a musical family and have been singing and playing the piano since before I can remember. Flute (and piccolo) le

I can honestly say that after every lesson I've learned something new. Mr.Miron is very patience and encourages you when things get a little difficult. His lessons are fun and full of new content each time. The book he uses to teach is easy to understand and includes work sheets throughout to help you review the content. He studio is always clean and organized.

Luis is a humble, patient and compassionate instructor. He displays a genuine love for teaching and is clearly committed to his students success. He is your cheerleader-of-sorts. Meaning, when you feel flustered with yourself he's the one who keeps a positive attitude and puts your mind back into that "I can do this" thinking pattern. I'm confident that anyone who enlists the help of this outstanding instructor will surely be happy with his work.

My 8 year old daughter has been studying piano for the past 2 months, he's flexible with timing and very patient with my child, she has learned more than I expected. I put her in his class because I heard that piano helps progress children's mind in mathimatics and other subjects and she has actually done better in her classes ever since she started.
Cristina
I took classical guitar first then piano because I got my nails done. Luis is a very patient teacher and advances his lessons according to your pace. He not only encourages you to continue the classes, but pushes you to practice at home atleast 30 minutes to work out the fingering in guitar and the hand placements for piano. I've been with him for 4 months and planning to continue, he has always kept his home clean and his work space organized. Luis offers in Spanish and English and has been very patient with my frustration when I don't get things right.

"What a teacher! I have known Lana for twelve years and have always been impressed with both her passion and dedication. Both my sons took piano lessons with Lana.
She has great communication skills , every lesson with Lana was educational and exciting. Besides learning technical skills my boys have developed a positive attitude to the music. Today they are college students, but they still keep playing the piano, listening to good music and attending classical music concerts. So much of this is due to Lana's influence. It's the best result I could have wished for my children's musical education."

A New Approach to Piano Lessons in New York City

By Glen F. - NYC Piano Teacher

I have always loved music and playing the piano, and I have achieved lots of success performing music in all styles, culminating with a degree in piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music. I was capable of playing practically anything I wanted, but there was something deeper and more meaningful I wanted to go after. I wanted to achieve more physical freedom, more brilliance in my sound, and a conscious approach to music that focused on solving technical and expressive problems directly. I found that with an approach called The Art of Practicing, which is based on the teachings of Madeline Bruser, author of the book with the same title.

While studying with Ms. Bruser, she introduced me to very basic, but far-reaching concepts such a

s sitting still yet allowing the arms to just be free to move as they please. Instead of being hunched over and tense, I instantly freed my body to create the brilliant sound I wanted. Further on, she introduced me to other techniques such as moving the wrist forward in certain places to evenly and freely distribute energy, and singing techniques to hear my ideas and arrive at whatever phrasing I wanted to get at the piano. The best thing was that it worked! And I can pass these teachings on to all of you when you take piano lessons in New York City, as even beginners are capable of playing the piano in this simple, yet very effective and beautiful way.
