Piano is the general instruction of the instrument. I have taught lessons for over 23 years where I have been traveling to the homes.
The students learn not only the general concepts but they also learn Theory which is the understanding of what lies underneath the music itself.
I have an easy going personality with the students learning how to play the piano, but I also want the students to work to their full potential.
The students learn not only the basics of the piano itself, but they also play fun songs, such as popular songs that they know.

About Teresa

I am a graduate of Northern IL University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. I have 22 years of teaching experience where I have traveled to the homes. Students enjoy my passion that I have with the instrument. I started teaching in 1991 and have been teaching several students since

My daughters had their first piano lesson today with Terri. I can honestly say that I’ve never met anyone so patient and sweet natured and professional like Terri. The first time I spoke to her on the phone reflected her nature in person. Shes very knowledgeable with the piano music. She knows how to level herself with my 7 year old and specially with my know it all 5 year old. After the lessons she updated me with their progress and commented on my kids strengths and weaknesses. She just didn’t talk to me as her client but she talked to me like a friend. Her smile radiated through the music she teaches. We all loved her.

I have had the privilege of teaching piano and trumpet throughout Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for the past 12 years. As a UW-Milwaukee graduate (BA-Music), I am able to teach a wide variety of styles and genres. In order to maximize convenience for both students and parents, I offer lessons in the comfort of your own home throughout Lake Geneva, Burlington, Elkhorn, Delavan, Genoa City and the surrounding areas. My lessons are geared toward the individual student. I spend the first lesson getting to know the student's strengths and weaknesses, history, hobbies, and general feelings about music. This helps me to better understand what the student (or parent) is hoping to gain from taking piano lessons. My lessons are meant to produce the best possible success, and most importantly, a great time and a permanent love of music.

About Grace

I started piano lessons at the age of 3 and continued through middle school. I played the flute in the high school band and continued to pursue my love of music in college where I joined the Piano Ensemble and received a degree in Music from DePaul University. I graduated in 2015 with high honors

My 5-year old twins had their first lesson with Grace today. She was on time, got right to work, and connected with them both really well (back to back lessons). She was professional with us, and had both girls giggling at points in their lesson. They loved her and excited to practice, which is all we could ask for. We look forward to seeing her next week!

The teacher seems like she’s always in a hurry. She leaves a few minutes before it ends. She’s friendly but doesn’t make real conversation with the parent to update about my child’s progress. Knowledgeable though coz my daughter learned fast. She. Would’ve been perfect if she had a great personality

My lessons are fun and rewarding! I structure them to be efficient and effective and I use a lot of different resources and methods to teach and reinforce every concept. I like to focus on a good knowledge of music theory as well as reading notes and technical skills. Aside from that I like to teach scales, chords and how to apply them to various genres. I also stress the importance of being able to write and communicate music.

About Dayton

My teaching philosophy is to empower people to learn and explore piano, and music in general, on their own. I may teach myself out of a job doing this, but I believe in giving people the tools to teach themselves. I do this by not only making piano something fun for you, but also by demystifying so

I took lessons from Dayton for a little over a year and he was a phenomenal teacher. He's a really chill guy and always kept the lessons fun. Not only did he help me learn songs and go through music books, but he taught me all about chord structures and other music theory so that I would have a good knowledge of music. I always had a say in what I learned each lesson, along with what type of music I wanted to play. I was always so amazed when he would show me the incredible songs he knew how to play, and his knowledge of music is greater than most anyone you will ever meet. I highly recommend Dayton to anyone who is thinking of taking piano lesson- not only will you grow as a musician, but you'll have fun doing it!

I try to make the lessons as fun and educational as possible. I split my lessons into three parts. Theory , Technique , and songs. I use my own curriculum that I have created after 20 years of research and proven teaching. All students are different so I create individual lesson plans for each student. I teach beginners and also intermediate and advanced blues, jazz, and pop. I would love to be your teacher!

"Dr. Cota is an exceptionally gifted teacher!

Her training and education shine through in her mastery of musical theory and piano instruction, but she exhibits patience and wisdom that encourages and motivates students where they are at.

She is particularly brilliant with children. She has a way of connecting with children that is a unique gift, always finding a way to make kids comfortable and engaging them in fun and creative ways. Instruction is always tailored towards each individual students needs and goals. She has a special love and respect for kids that is palpable. She has a genuinely kind and warm presence, and is able to build kids up and motivate them, while pushing them to give their best.

Beyond that she is a top notch professional and one of the best at what she does. Parents find her to be gem; she is easy to work with, very professional and a blessing to their kids. I can't recommend Dr. Cota highly enough!"

"Lena definitely deserves the highest number of stars.
I have been on-and-off studying piano since eight years ago in my early 40s from reading and playing the middle C. I have changed a few teachers over the years. More than a year ago, I decided to pickup the piano again and I found Lena. I explained to her about my path for learning piano and the reasons for the hiatuses I had. Well, time flies, here I am, still taking lessons with Lena and playing chopin’s nocturnes; in fact, I recently doubled the class time, so I would be able to maximize the benefit I gained from her teaching. I think one of the best thing of Lena did is that she doesn’t limit my potentials by allowing me to play challenging pieces such as Chopin’s. Also, her encouragement comes so genuine when she tells the story of a Lady who started learning piano at age 88! For someone like me who works full time, the harder I work, the harder I play, as piano has been such an effective way to channel frustrations from work or other areas of life. I am grateful for having Lena from whom I not only learn musicianship, but also touch a soul with kindness, integrity and humanity."
