Hey everyone! I spend most of my time touring the world with A list pop artists as guitarist/multi-instrumentalist, but in my spare time I love passing along the gift of music via teaching. I tailor my lessons specifically for each students needs, and to match their personalities and interests. Wanna learn the basics of piano? Sick! Wanna learn an impressive pop chord progression? Awesome! Wanna learn how to play an Adele song and make your friends cry? I got you!

For my beginning students I help get them acquainted with the piano and the music that they would like to study.
For my more advanced students I focus primarily on improvisational concepts and playing in group settings.
As with all of my students I have a strong emphasis on developing their ears and follow a sound-before-symbol approach.
About Isaac
As I’ve developed my teaching style over the last ten years, I’ve found myself zeroing in on a few key qualities I want to cultivate in my students and in my self. These include great ears, a high proficiency on the instrument, and a strong and interactive sense of musicality. At the center of my p

After studying at William Paterson University, The New School for Jazz, and Bard College, I've discovered that consistently meeting new people and connecting with competent mentors is a better music education than anything a textbook can offer.
As a composer, I treat each piece as a new building with different architecture. Each composition will have unique conventions but start with the same trademark foundation I lay for everything I do.
As a performer, I make sure to play to my strengths and the crowd. At the end of the day we artists perform to entertain and bring people together.
As an educator, I tailor my teaching to fit the specific needs of each student. While foundation is necessary, at the end of the day a good teacher should always have the mentee's goals at the forefront of their approach.
Specialties:
Composition, performance, piano, synthesizer, keyboards, education, arranging, sibelius, logic, music theory, music history, jazz, popular music, production
About John
I believe that by keeping the rest of my life grounded and professional, I can allow my creativity to be as chaotic and potent as is necessary to be a successful artist. Most musicians will tell you that they became artists to pay bills and it was the only thing they were good at. While this is co
