Mr. Brown is very attentive to my 6-year-old with piano lessons. He's very patient and always pleasant. He also tailors his lessons according to my child's development to ensure he's grasping each concept before moving on to the next lesson. I would highly recommend him as a piano instructor.

Ms. Dorla has been an excellent piano teacher to both of my children. They started group lessons when they were very young and moved to private lessons after a few years. Ms. Dorla employs an advanced pedagogical teaching style which is very eclectic making it a unique experience for each student. Group lessons are a wonderful, fun experience where Ms. Dorla incorporates all of students' senses so that they not only "play" music but "experience" it. Private lessons are uniquely designed with the students' interests and abilities in mind using a research-based curriculum that includes diversity of activities which include technology. Having witnessed my children's progress in their playing abilities and their increasing love of music I cannot hesitate in recommending Ms. Dorla to anyone that is interested in receiving top quality music education.

Whether you are looking to boost your NYSSMA scores, or are just getting started, I can tailor lessons to your specific musical interests, and level. Being in my 20's, I have great rapport with children and adults alike!

About Michael
As a recent graduate of the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase, I have been a performing classical pianist for nearly 20 years. I hold a Masters Degree in Piano Performance, and have had the great advantage of studying with many of today's top classical musicians, including Steven Lubin, Stephanie Brown, Paul Ostrovsky, Julia Lichten, and Stuart Isacoff. I've won many top prizes in competitions and have performed extensively throughout New York State. I'm very lucky to have had the opportunity to perform for the Governor, and both NYS Senators.

Having taught music since the age of 15, I am also an experienced and motivated teacher. Nothing excites me more than sharing my love and knowledge of music with others. Whether you are looking to boost your NYSSMA score, and compete in competitions, or are just starting out, I can tailor
lessons to your specific level and musical interests. Being in my 20's, I have a great rapport with children, and adults alike.

I emphasize developing a strong foundation in technique and ear training that will carry over to any musical genre, from world-renowned classical repertoire, to classic rock, jazz, and folk, to children's songs or your favorite radio hits from today.
I am dedicated to unlocking every student's musical potential, at any age or experience level, whether the student is just beginning to explore the keyboard or is preparing for an important audition. But more than experience and insight, I teach students to use music as a vehicle for creativity and expression, and develop a sense of true musicianship that goes beyond playing all the correct notes and the right time.

About Lilia
Hello, my name is Lilia and I can't wait to meet you! I have over a decade experience in teaching and offer private lessons in guitar, piano, and voice with a balance between theory, technique, and and ear training to help you play the songs you love to listen to.

Some background info on me:
I graduated from California Institute of the Arts in December 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Guitar Performance. I started teaching dance and gymnastics while attending Palomar college in San Diego in 2011, then transferred to CalArts in 2012 and worked as a college writing tutor and a part-time dance and music teacher. After graduating from CalArts in 2014, I began working full-time as a music teacher and professional performing artist in the greater Los Angeles area and perform in San Diego and the San Fransisco Bay Area as well. In addition t
o teaching, I play the role of as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and composer in my rock band, called Karkaza. We are currently working on recording our debut album and playing shows in the greater Los Angles area.

My favorite part of teaching is knowing that I helped the student have a better day and give them a rewarding activity to look forward to every week. Feel free to reach out any time, and I am excited to help you play the music you love!

She challenges him to continue to grow but does it in a way that is fun for a child his age. We think she is great!

Want to play music you’re interested in and like? Do you wantto write and record your own music? I will help you I will help you get to this right away. My lesson plan can include recording, mixing and producing a song that you eventually compose. Shoot me a message to see if we're a good match!.

About Mark R
I am a Touring/Session Keyboardist, Music Instructor, Arranger, Music Writer, Mix Engineer, and Producer based in the Los Angeles Area.

I have performed with individual artists and bands locally and across the country, recorded, arranged and produced singer-songwriters and bands, as well as scored for orchestra & TV shows.
Additionally, I have produced a catalog of original music both instrumental and vocal.

I grew up in Chicago where he was influenced by the city’s great musical diversity – from studying Bach and electronic music at the American conservatory to playing blues in the famous South Side blues clubs on a regular basis. Performing with many rock bands and R&B groups led to my first recording contract.

The contract, playing keyboard and synthesizer for the experimental electric funk band Lovecraft brought me to Los Angeles.
There I furthered my capability at the world renowned Dick Grove School of Music where I studied arranging and film scoring with Lalo Schfrin, Mundell Lowe, Jack Smalley, among others. I have honed his expertise in creating, performing, and facilitating projects as well as writing and collaborating with artists locally and throughout the country.

I am at home in a wide range of genres. To the question: what kind of music do you play? The kind that has twelve notes.
I embrace the never ending challenges and possibilities that creative musicianship provides.
I have a passion for collaborating and facilitating, finding what works best for the individual artist.
My philosophy of teaching is to provide students with a map and the tools which will enable them to discover and articulate their own creative voices.

“The arts all about the heart”, would sum up my guiding philosophy.

When I began teaching, almost 10 years ago, I determined to put myself into my young students’ shoes: to remember what it felt like to be a child. What did I love about music? What did I like or dislike about my music teachers? Early on in my teaching career, instinct told me to come down to the level of the child—physically; for my littlest students, I kneel on the floor next to the piano. Empathy works for any age, and I have successfully taught students from age 4 up to retirees.
My enthusiasm for music theory is contagious: even the youngest beginner students get excited as they realize how even a little theory can help them understand their craft. Music theory is almost like a series of spells that can help you magically create music, or a key to unlocking an exciting code! For example, once I teach you the function of the leading tone, you will start seeing it everywhere in your music, and will appreciate how it guides you to the next note or chord. You will enjoy learning how ...

About Nadine
I am an opera singer from New York City, with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, a Master of Music in Opera, and 18 opera roles to my credit. I have also sung in professional opera choruses, and have been the soloist in many churches. As a recitalist, I have made something of a specialty of Schubert's song cycle Die schöne Müllerin, performing it from Boston to Seattle. I can teach you correct diction in Italian, French, German, Latin, and Greek… and I’m learning Chinese.
Though I am primarily a singer now, I have been playing the piano for 27 years, and received a scholarship for piano accompaniment in grad school.
It is a great joy to me to take a complex musical idea, a music theory concept, or advanced vocal technique and explain it in terms that the youngest student can understand.
