About Vincent
I have taught for 18 years, giving both private and group lessons. I am a professional musician, having played in numerous bands, recorded and played shows. I have taugh all ages, and all elvels, and all styles. I play a number of instruments including piano, guitar, bass, violin, banjo, mandolin, and harmonica, in addition to writing and singing. I took private lessons for over 10 years, and also studied music in both high school and college.

*** Lesson Details ***
A student can expect to be treated with respect, and have a lesson tailored around their abilities, interests, and amount of practice time. I make the lessons fun but also informative. I try to get to know my students so that they feel comfortable. I am laid back, but also determined that a student practice well, and learn not only the instrument but music fundamentals a
s well. I try to show students that learning music is a lifelong pursuit that can provide all types of fun and personal fulfillment, in addition to being a potential career and social outlet. After 3-6 months, the student will be playing songs, good ones, not just scales. They will also have learned basics, such as chords and scales, as well as sight reading.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Basement converted into music studio with instruments, and piano and keyboard. Parents can sit in on lessons. Street parking available.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide all lesson materials, listening examples, and, on occassion, an instrument. I often use my laptop to play songs and tutorials for students (who don't buy records like we did in the old days.) Generally, students must provide instrument.

*** Specialties ***
I tailor my lessons based on three factors: a student's interests, their ability, and their amount of practice time. I do not use a cookie cutter method of teaching because each student is different. I have studied, formally and informally, rock, pop, blues, jazz and classical. My specialties are rock and blues. On occasion, I will use method books, such as the Schirmer books for piano, but only if the student clearly seems to benefiting from them.

Through my methods of teaching a student could excel, learn, and become an accomplish musician at any age. I work within the age group that is, to teach in the level of that student in
stead of above them.I have help students to get into bands and become songwriters. I show students how to practice within 15 minutes and become productive in ideas and have fun in the process all ages could have fun. I am one of those individuals who love to teach music and my reward is when you learn and feel good about your studies in the instrument so my last words to conclude in all of this is “have fun and enjoy the beauty of music.”

I am emphatic about learning music I cover all the grounds in music such as theory the basics to harmony and my favorite songwriting and get you to play what you like
I have worked with all ages and the one thing I know in the beginning is to make that student feel comfortable and to get the attention from that student so they can learn, play, and most importantly have fun with it.
I show students time management in their studies how to practice in such a little time I plan each lesson and if the lesson is not right for that day I quickly go into a second plan. I can always detect if the plan does not go well because there is one thing a teacher must know and that is to teach in the level of the student and not beyond so they can succeed properly and move on to the next level.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Private teaching studio in a finished basement a whole drum kit, 3 keyboards, has several guitars and a bass for students to use at his home, microphones for voice and plenty of music stands

All levels and styles. You will learn arranging, harmony, improvisation and performance ..

About John
I am a multi-instrumentalist who has taught for 41 years. I have had both Zakke W and two other rock stars in lessons,. Further, I had a Grammy nominee and a well known comedian and Hollywood Actress, as well as countless music school scholarship students. Many of my students have embarked on performing careers as well as teaching at the school and college level. The lessons are laid back, friendly and above all- helpful. We will study and work on the music of your choice, but, with a slight twist from the traditional, that I incorporate not just playing the song, but to get you the student ready to be able to work out the songs harmony, theory, notation and phrasing on your own. I feel this must be done in order to get a student to be able to perform with others. Lessons should always be about instructing a student to know and utilize e
very musical concept so that they will be able to perform with others.

*** Lesson Details ***
You can expect to be well grounded in theory and being able to play an instrument with solo and chords, comping, etc., in all keys - as well as song structure and song learning. We will analyze all aspects of the song. We will do a song together, then, i will through theory, show the student how to work out a song on their own.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have amps, cables, recorders, books, sheets, etc here at the studio. You need only your instrument and a music writing book.

*** Travel Equipment ***
they must have instrument

*** Specialties ***
All methods are my own. We work through theory and analysis to enable a student to learn how to put a song together and perform it on their own.

The most attentive and knowledgeable music teacher I have ever had. Very aware of student improvements and yet able to make suggestions where they are needed, without any kind of harsh criticism.

John provides all the information - both theory and performance in a very laid back way which leaves the student feeling stress free. He is very realistic as to the expectations of what the student's abilities are now and when "tentatively" they can expect to achieve a level of playing.

He does his job. It is up to me to do mine! Having fun and learning in a very short time. Not easy - but practice, practice, practice.

I am a professional full time Trombonist. At the same time, teaching has always been a big part of who I am - I love teaching. My music career has taken me around the world and back but more than that it has given me a wonderful tool of self expression, and for that I am forever grateful. Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt. I feel very confident teaching Trumpet up to advanced level, but only beginner level for Piano. I would love to work with some of the younger piano students not only on learning to play the Piano but also about the joy that music can give you!

About reut
Hello there!

I am a trombonist and teacher, with many years of experience teaching Hebrew as well as music.

As a music teacher I have worked with children starting from private lessons to young children beginning to learn, up to master classes in universities worldwide. I love teaching, and I feel confident teaching trombone and trumpet up to advanced level. For piano, I would prefer to stay with beginners and young ones only :) - but I promise you they will have a wonderful experience (and yes, I do have 8 years of piano studies under my belt).

As a Hebrew teacher, I teach both Hebrew reading and pronunciation and modern conversational Hebrew. My professional experience includes teaching at Golda Och Academy in West Orange, B'nai Abraham in Livingston, Central Synagogue in Manhattan and more, as well as many private lessons. In
the schools I provided classroom instruction, private and group tutoring and adult education as well as private instruction for the faculty.

My students receive individualized lessons based on their interest and ability. They learn to read music notation, play core piano literature, learn theory, music history, and composition.
All students participate in a yearly recital and have the option of entering the NJMTA Piano Festival to be adjudicated each year.
I have a two-fold goal with each student: that she or he become an excellent musician, and that we have fun together as that happens.

About Jennifer
I've been playing the piano since I was seven years old. After going to college and studying music education, I started teaching piano and have fallen in love with this job. I love music and I love sharing it with others. I've been teaching piano for over 30 years. My students receive individualized lessons based on their interest and ability. They learn to read music notation, play core piano literature, learn proper playing technique, theory, music history, and composition.
All students participate in a yearly recital and have the option of entering the NJMTA Piano Festival to be adjudicated each year.
I have a two-fold goal with each student: that she or he become an excellent musician, and that we have fun together as that happens.

Lesson Details
Each lesson from the very beginning includes some technique, whether that is pe
ntascales (5-note scales), full scales and chords, etudes, etc. Then we work on repertoire, learning new songs which challenge the student to expand his/her musicianship skills, with beginners using a lesson book while intermediate and advanced students become familiar with the traditional body of piano literature.
For beginners, theory is taught using accompanying theory books. For more intermediate/advanced students, theory is incorporated into the lesson using the music the student is studying.
Composing can be added into the lesson when the student is ready. The student is guided through the process of writing a song and then enters it into the computer and prints it out for their very own copy. When enough students have completed original compositions, I host a composition recital where students can play their creations.

I'm an adult piano student who's never taken any piano lessons before. I committed myself to 5 lessons with Jennifer to see if we would be the right fit for each other. After about 10 lessons, I can tell you that she is an excellent piano instructor! She is very detail oriented and knows when to challenge you and when to provide more guidance. When you don't understand something, she's very good at explaining it at multiple angles. She jots down notes on problem areas, which helps when you practice. During the lesson, she ensures that you have good foundations, such as hand positioning and other motor skills. She prioritizes a portion of the lesson to important fundamentals, such as scales, chords, and music theory. All the while, she always keeps things interesting through a variety of songs. Overall, she's great at bringing out my strengths and addressing my weaknesses. I feel as if she's fully invested in me to be the best that I can be, so I'm confident that she would do the same for you or your child. Definitely would recommend!

As a "(much) older student", and former high school teacher, I am very impressed with Jennifer. Every lesson begins with the basics- scales and chords, then on to technique and theory, using pieces that I've selected myself to build my repertoire. Jennifer has a very calming and matter-of-fact manner, which I love, and her knowledge of musical history and way of casually imparting it is a pleasure. I see myself taking lessons with her for a long time to come, and would recommend her HIGHLY to students of all ages and ability levels.

There are obvious fundamental concepts that need to be covered, but my main goal with teaching music is catering lessons towards the students end goal. They will lose all intrinsic motivation if they are learning based on external factors such as fear, rewards, etc. I also have an extensive background in improvisation which is an under-appreciated form of expression. Improvisation equates to spontaneous composition.

About John
I have had formal music lessons (starting from my father) since the age of seven. Private lessons have had the most impact on my growth as an individual. Since graduating from Rutgers, I have held residencies, gigged about 4-5 times per week, managed a coffee shop and am constantly challenging myself. I believe everyone is capable and creative and certain teachers and/or education systems strip away these capabilities. I am very excited to hopefully be teaching full time :)

Hi my name is Paul! Im 22 and started learning piano at 5, taking lessons for over 10 years from David Ichkitidze at Musicians workshop in Manalapan. If you want to learn your favorite songs or something catchy you have stuck in your head come to me! The main thing I find people enjoy that I do is that I can transcribe (when possible) almost any song you or your child wants to learn- whether it be from the radio, a movie, tv show, or even a video game. Especially for children this tends to keep learning fresh and interesting! Lessons will be a lot more casual and loose. If a student doesn't feel comfortable with teachers or being one on one we will probably get along great because I was that kid, and have worked with students who felt the same way. Pricing is flexible, and if the student is really interested and wants to do more. I dont mind providing extra time at no extra charge when possible.

About Paul
Hi, im not like most of the teachers on here. I took contemporary piano lessons for about 10 years before I quit and began learning on my own. I started playing everything I heard from tv, the radio, requests from friends- all by ear. When a neighbor came over one day, her 10year old son asked me to play a song from a game called Minecraft. Once I listened to it and started to play, he got very excited and she was surprised as he usually hated anything to do with learning the instrument. She asked me to teach him for the summer and that was the first experience I had doing so. Since then I have found other children, college students, and even adults who have enjoyed this approach during the beginning, and to spark continued interest in learning. I am by no means a professional but that is why I am very flexible with time and pricing. That
being said I am still proficiently trained and knowledgable upto an intermediate level of teaching, and am passionate about both piano and music. Feel free to ask me about any questions or concerns you may have at my cell phone. Id like to reiterate if you/your child is unsure about getting lessons, unmotivated, intimidated, or having issues with the expense of lessons generally definitely give me an opportunity to work with you.
