I've been teaching Piano for 20 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play basic chords and scales, and as time goes on you'll be able to play songs of your interest. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Steve
I'm is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. I've been teaching private music students since 1995. I've also developed and taught classes at both the high school and college level.

As a Songwriter, Producer, and Recording Artist I recorded the single, The Friend of Africa - Steve Kercher and the African Children’s Choir, featuring legendary bassist, Abraham Laboriel, drummer, JR Robinson (Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones), and guitarist Marty Walsh (Supertramp). I also recorded the full-length album, Maiden Voyage. Both recordings are distributed through iTunes, Spotify, and other major digital music retailers and streaming services worldwide.

I work hard to develop a curriculum for each student based on their needs and interests in music. Let's talk about your goals!

“Steve has been teaching both of my children for almost t
hree years. Steve is incredibly patient and the kids really enjoy the lessons (they work hard and laugh a lot!) . More importantly, though, Steve knows what he is doing and has great experience. He teaches technical concepts and theory while giving kids the freedom to choose songs and genres they enjoy most. Steve connects with kids and they respond to his enthusiasm by wanting to practice and wanting to progress. Steve fosters a love for all music which gets the kids excited to learn songs that might be outside of what they currently know. I would strongly recommend Steve to beginners, as well as advanced musicians.” Jennifer Kuhlman, Beverly MA

About Kristin
Hello!

I received a Bachelor's in Music Education and Performance from Drake University in Flute and Piano. Currently pursuing a Master's in Music Therapy.

At Drake, I received a musical scholarship covering 80% of my tuition costs.
I was also honored to sit as Principal Flute in both the Drake Symphony Orchestra and the Drake Wind Symphony, the top performing groups at the University.

I started to play the flute and piano in second grade, and
my love and passion for music have only grown and matured since then.

I enjoy sharing what I've learned, and learning from my students as well.

I am excited and thrilled by the opportunity to work with you!

My first piano lesson turned out to be so much more than I could have ever expected. My teacher, Kristin is so engaged in the lesson and so very well prepared. We covered so much in such a short time. She made every minute both fun and informative while providing a very friendly environment in her studio. I feel very fortunate to have found such a really competent music teacher.

In my piano lessons, I will develop technical piano skills in addition to incorporating music theory, musicianship skills, ear training, and exposure to new and varied repertoire. I strive for every student to not only gain a solid educational foundation in piano but also become a well-rounded musician capable of skills well beyond the piano. As a piano teacher, I feel I am best suited for the absolute beginner to beginner/ intermediate student. Previous experience is welcome up to 3 years. Required materials include a lesson book as well as supplemental books as needed (such as theory and ear training) and depending on level of experience.

About Rebecca
Known for her poise and musicality, Rebecca has performed throughout the states as well as in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, and Australia and has made appearances in such musical landmarks as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and Smetana Hall. She grew up immersed in music, taking piano and voice lessons from a young age as well as actively participating in local choral ensembles. Rebecca's performance history includes principal roles in both opera and musical theater productions, solo concert works, ensemble collaborations, and premieres of new vocal compositions.

While pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in music from Pepperdine University, she first began teaching beginner levels of both voice and piano, immediately recognizing the joy of helping develop a passion for music within any willing student. Rebecca completed her Mast
er's Degree in voice performance from The Boston Conservatory and has since grown her studio to a include an exceptionally wide range of ages, styles, and musical experiences. Though her educational focus has been classical repertoire, Rebecca has a substantial amount of performance experience in musical theater and is open to exploring any genre that interests the student, including opera, musical theater, pop and jazz. She is committed to building an open, approachable relationship and offering unique lesson plans around the interests and needs of each individual student, guaranteeing engaging lessons and consistent, gratifying development.

A native of Thousand Oaks, California, Rebecca spent several years in Boston pursuing her Master's Degree and performing throughout the greater Boston area. She relocated to New York City in 2015 where she continues to grow her teaching studio and performance career. Rebecca most recently performed as L'Éternita from Cavalli's La Calisto and Helena from Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream with dell'Arte Opera Ensemble.

The first session was great. Rebecca was warm, kind and natural. She wanted to form a solid foundation by asking my daughter about her interest, what she wanted to learn, the artist she likes and let her sing to have an understanding of her vocal skills. We are excited to work with Rebecca as my daughter loved her. Totally recommend her to both kids and adults.

My goal as an instructor is to provide my students with an opportunity to discover their own musical potentials. From breaking the ice from playing for the very first time, to perfecting even the most structured and difficult pieces, I feel there are no limits. I feel comfortable teaching in any genre and always tailor my classes to match my students own individual learning style.

In my lessons, I highlight important principles right from the start, such as posture, proper fingering, and rhythm training, to ensure no bad habits form that later are hard to break. As we become more confident in our playing, we transfer some of the traits contained within us. Those traits become the character and style of our "musical speech," which will help to define us as musicians. I recommend books and provide sheet music when we start learning songs. Learning music with me has been said by many of my students as, "the most fun they have ever had playing music."

About Melody
My musical experience began at the age of 4 on the piano. I have been classically trained for most of my life. I have performed on soundtracks, played with bands (in genres from Jazz to Metal), and accompanied choirs. I have taught intro to piano and music theory since the age of 15. Currently, I teach throughout the Dallas metroplex, play in several bands, as well as write music for Television and Film.

I see music as a language. Once it is mastered, it can be shared with anyone, anywhere. My goal as an instructor is to provide my students with an opportunity to discover their own musical potentials. I signed up with Melody for something unique - learning to speak from my diaphragm and speak with more bravado and projection. I've always been frustrated by how my voice goes out if I speak loudly in a crowded room.

She took me through different exercises she's borrowed from her singing lessons and applied it to my specific case. I have a much better idea of how my voice should sound and where the sound should come from. Although I still revert back to my old ways, I recognize it and from here on out it's about me actively trying to improve it with the skills provided to me.

These lessons are designed to enhance a student's life through the study of music. Music is initially provided and I strive to have the student learning enjoyable music from the first few lessons. With an emphasis on reading music and ear training, through games, songs and instruments, students are encouraged to develop not only their own musical talent, but to discover the joy of music. Within the lessons, Music Mind Games are employed to enhance the student’s learning and enjoyment.

About Donna
After studying violin, (strings, cello), and piano in Boston, at New England Conservatory with Eric Rosenblith as well as Robert Soetens in France, I have been fortunate to enjoy nearly twenty years of teaching violin and piano students. I have earned a BS and MS degrees.

I believe all my students should enjoy music and lessons so students learn enjoyable music from the first few lessons.

For the younger students I use Music Mind Games training to enhance the lesson experience.

My professional violin experience includes performances with many orchestras including a ten-year member of the Chattanooga Symphony, Chattanooga Opera Orchestra, and the New Art Trio, Charleston Symphony, Savannah Symphony and chamber orchestras and ensembles in the Savannah, Chattanooga and Richmond areas. My experience also includes performances with R
ichmond Symphony in Richmond, VA, Virginia Symphony in Norfolk, VA, Dover Delaware Symphony as well as performance venues in the Pennsylvania area.

Carrie Davis and I have been colleagues for the past five years. We have our studio recitals together as well as small student projects. She is one of the most dedicated piano teachers in the Tampa Bay area. A few things that I admire and respect about her is her diligence, efficiency, sensitivity to students and her love for what she does. She has the patience, talent, intelligence and insight to cater to all age groups, which I have learned so much from. She is amazing and hope to work with her for many more years to come.

I will summarize in one word what I want my students to gain from music lessons: joy. Music should never become a chore and, in the way I teach my students, music never becomes one. I combine fresh contemporary pedagogy with time-tested methods, encouraging my students to explore music that they actually enjoy that develops fundamental skills in ways that empowers rather than frustrates.

- From day one, basic skills are learned and reinforced so that students are prepared to play a variety of music—from classical to pop and everything in between.
- I help students craft long term goals for themselves that helps them develop a sense of direction and accomplishment as they progress.
- I strive to have my students leave each of my lessons knowing how to practice and prepare for their next lesson, so they leave feeling confident and assured instead of intimidated or confused.

About Brandon
My love affair with music began at an early age when I started studying the piano at age five. I picked up the euphonium at eleven. Throughout my teenage years, I competed in dozens of festivals and competitions, earning the highest marks for my performances as a pianist and euphonist. In addition to solo performances, I have played euphonium with wind bands in the US and Europe under the baton of highly respected conductors such as Scott Hagen (University of Utah), Richard Mayne (University of North Colorado), and Gary Green (University of Miami). I earned a bachelor of music in instrumental education from the University of Utah. While living in the Salt Lake Valley, I taught privately and in the Utah public school system as a band and orchestra teacher at both elementary and high school levels.

I offer practical experience in playing and performing piano. I usually prioritize technique, since playing with bad form can lead to serious injury, while good form opens the door to expressive musicality. After about 12 years of lessons and starting my own songwriting/performing project, I am well-equipped to teach music theory and sight-reading as well as playing by ear.

About Emily
Hi there! My goal is to share my passion for music along with the technical skills that make it possible. I've been playing and performing the piano for about twenty years, and guitar eight years. I've given private lessons on a case-by-case basis. Regardless of what level you are currently at, I enjoy teaching people who are genuinely interested in learning.
