About Zbigniew
My greatest desire is that I will instill in each of my students the love I have for making music.
I am a classically-trained violinist. I grew up in Lodz, Poland, where I began musical education at the age of 7.
I studied violin and piano at the Music High School and Music Academy of K.&G. Bacewicz, Lodz, Poland and earned a Master Degree in violin performance in 1980.
During his College years I started to perform with the Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television.
From the mid – 70s until the early 1990s, I performed with several Polish orchestras
and held a position as a violin teacher for four years at the College of Education
in Slupsk, Poland.
Then, I spent almost 10 years performing in numerous ensembles and orchestras in Germany and toured with Orchestra of Great Theater of Lodz in many countries all over the
world.
From 2002 – 2005 he was first violinist at Lodz’s Operetta Theater.
I moved to Michigan in 2005, where he performs with Macomb, Jackson and Flat Rock Symphony Orchestras.

*** Lesson Details ***
The most interesting and beneficial thing about performing music is that it is one of the few activities that engages both the left and the right brain at the same time. I believe that every Human Being is precious and deserves to be nurtured and encouraged in a fun and loving environment. With that in mind, my teaching places equal importance on developing strong technique, and developing creativity. Students learn all the basics of music, and also spend time developing strong ensemble skills and strong background knowledge of style and repertoire, so that they can enjoy music in all kinds of settings, all their lives.
Our time spent together will be laid back and comfortable, yet challenging because that is probably why you want to take lessons.
Each lesson will conclude with an assignment of instrumental pieces/songs given to work on throughout the week—usually 2-3 short songs for 30-minute lessons, and 1-2 longer instrumental pieces for an hour-long lesson. These will be the same pieces we have worked on during the lesson time, so you will go home with the knowledge you need to master each piece. Music theory sheets and technique exercises will also be included in the assignments.
Within 6 months, you will begin discovering how to read music and understand the language of it. You will learn how to play some of your favorite songs/instrumental pieces and learn some that you might not know. We'll discover what you really want to learn and achieve through taking lessons, and we will work toward those goals!
Discipline is vital to musical progress and daily practice is strongly urged, in order for the student to progress. If a students don't practice, they won't progress. Because of that, you can expect that I will encourage consistent and regular practice, always keeping in mind that the study of music is meant to be fun.
Knowing from experience how "boring" it can be to learn by rote, I combine technical work with fun time playing duets together, improvising, and exploring a wide variety of styles and genres of music.
I would be honored to share my knowledge and love of music with you. Give yourself a priceless gift that will last a lifetime!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to have their own instrument. I can provide the music stand and I always bring my own instrument so that I can demonstrate during lessons.

Zebie is a fantastic teacher. He is very patient and is excellent at finding new methods to teach techniques which I am struggling with at the time. Though I am only 3 weeks in (from being pretty much a complete beginner), I can already tell I am making progress. I am very excited to continue my lessons and improve. I highly recommend taking lessons from Zebie.

Scott is very personable, patient and has a vast skillset across an abundance of instruments. His willingness to not only show the mechanics necessary to become a good guitarist, but ensuring the student has a clear understanding of hand and finger placement is key to musical growth. Our son looks forward to the lesson and is attentive during. This highlights Scott’s ability as a teacher.

We highly recommended him as a teacher.

I aim to instill a love of music and of the instrument through both student guided song selections from popular genres and movie/video game soundtracks, as well as technical and music reading exercises designed to make my students well rounded and ready for any way they choose to pursue music.

About Nicholas
Detroit native, Nicholas C. K., demonstrated an innate musical talent from a young age. His command of piano, guitar, trumpet and bass progressed to studies at both Columbia University in Chicago and Wayne State University in Detroit. Since age 16 Nic has toured the country sharing the stage with acclaimed rock acts such as; Tesla, Bret Michaels, 3 Doors Down and many others. He is currently endorsed by Warwick Basses.

Nicholas been a musician in some form or another for as long as he can remember. His musical journey started when he was only six, with a delve into the realm of classical piano. While there he studied under world class child prodigy Josh Cullen. The composers that he studied include Bach, Beethoven, Barton, Hayden and many others.

From here he progressed to playing jazz trumpet, studying the Jamey Aebersold method un
der Paul Finkbeiner, the lead trumpet player for the Paul Keller Ensemble.

Then at the age of 11, with the help of his grandfather he discovered the guitar. He learned quickly on his old SR guitar. He quickly discovered that he had a natural taste for blues phrasing, and his soloing abilities quickly blossomed. 2 years later, he had formed his first band, Spherical. It was through this band that he found the bass.

His journey into the realm of bass, began out of necessity and progressed into love of the bottom end. Since then, he has been collecting basses, playing, living and breathing bass. He now realizes the importance of a funky beat, a subtle line and most important of all A Tight Groove!!!

The benefit of studying under someone with a vast array of both talent and experience is clear.

*** Lesson Details ***
During his musical career Nicholas has played almost every style of music; from folk to experimental from jazz to rock. One thread holds true through all music, it has to groove.
During the course of a lesson he will cover a broad range of topics starting from the basics, and moving into ear training, sight-reading, theoretical knowledge and most important for bass players, groove. Just as every player has their own musical personality and voice, so to does every lesson that Nicholas gives.
In a supportive, patient environment, every lesson is custom tailored to the student.

*** Studio Equipment ***

Playing the piano is such a joy. To be able to read music, listen to music and play it, and to understand how to write music is important.

We will focus on ear training, rhythms, reading music, chord composition, proper voice leading, and many other aspects of piano.

About Ylona Marie
Hi there! My name is Ylona (I used to go by Marie, for those who see me referred to as Marie in places). I have my bachelor's (2002) and master's (2004) both in music (concentration in vocal performance). Additionally, I began taking piano lessons when I was 4.

On the health side, I just have finals left to finish to complete my doctor of naturopathy. So, if you have questions about healing, naturopathy, wellness, essential oils, homeopathic remedies, vaccines, body work therapies, energy work therapies, iridology, and many many more things relating to our health, I have answers because I offer natural solutions for natural health.

I love music, and I love naturopathy. I have found the holistic approach in naturopathy has parallels and can enhance a student's learning of music. When things are holistic, they encompass body, mi
nd, and spirit, and music requires all of these to really be effective!

Just a few notes. I have cats and a dog, so if you have allergies you may want to reconsider (or contact me to learn how naturopathy can help your body correct those naturally).

My music studio is upstairs. My naturopathic office is down a few stairs (though we may be able to work something out to bring you around the back on my deck). For both, if there are mobility concerns, let me know. We might be able to work something out.

For voice lessons, I generally find students younger than 12 do not like my style of teaching. This is because I focus on technique and healthy sound and am not just there to listen to your child sing their favorite pop song and offer no value of how to improve. Because of this, I usually won't accept voice students under 12. If you believe your younger child is unusually focused on learning to sing, we can talk though!

I look forward to working with you to help you reach your music or health goals! Or both!!

About Charlene
Over 30 years violin teaching experience. I have successfully taught students ages 3 to adult. Anyone can learn to play the violin. Lessons in a comfortable setting in my studio.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are taught in my home in a comfortable setting. Parents are encouraged to sit in on lessons and are expected to help their child practice. Young students are started out on a play violin so they can learn the proper positions before they graduate to their real violin. I will assist parents in finding the right instrument for their child.

Charlene possesses the perfect combination of skill, talent and temperament to make an excellent instructor and teacher. Not only does Charlene have significant skill and experience as a musician but also she has the ability to effectively demonstrate and communicate the principles and techniques of playing the violin from the most rudimentary level (i.e. my level) to the experienced level of serious talented students. Charlene does all this in a relaxed but serious manner. It has been my experience, that when noting deficiencies, Charlene addresses them with patience and corrects and guides the student along in a manner that is both honest and effective but never discouraging or dispiriting. Charlene is very adaptable at modifying her teaching methods or approach and can accommodate instructing elderly retirees (i.e. individuals like me) or some of the youngest students with the tiniest violins you ever saw. In other words, Charlene is very good at assessing a student's goals and asperations and customizing her approach to the individual student's needs and current abilities. Charlene sets clear goals for improvement and learning new techniques and motivates the student to improve and strive for a realistic and achievable level of skill. I would recommend Charlene to any student of any age and any skill level.

Jonathan taught me when I was around middle school age and has left a lasting impression on how I approach the bass and music 10-ish years later. Under his tutelage I learned music theory, techniques, and all sorts of different genres and styles.

His lessons were always very professional. I always felt challenged, but not overwhelmed, by the material being taught. He also made it easy to be interested in the lessons; he would always ask if there's any song or genre that I wanted to learn and that sort of thing.

Overall, definitely a 5/5 top shelf educator and musician.

Jessica’s Holistic Approach Piano Studio, LLC
A holistic and relevant approach to teaching piano and music skills to anyone.

Holistic Approach

The phrase “Holistic Approach” simply means that I teach the student, not the lesson. Every student has a different learning style, goal, strengths and weaknesses. It means I will teach all the elements of music in context of the big picture, not just learn the written language of music. It means I will think outside the box and customize the learning journey to help each student reach their own potential.

My goal is to facilitate students’ own exploration of the piano and its language so that they can learn to play anything independently. It’s a matter of “learning how to learn,” and making connections between all of the knowledge they gain. That comes through a functional, relevant introduction to music, as opposed to going through the motions of a method book alone, to memorize numerous isolated facts and repeat them ...

About Jess
I am a life-long musician with training in flute, piano, and vocal technique and performance. I attended Spring Arbor University received my associates in Piano Pedagogy in 2004. I am the pianist at Christ Church Fraser in Fraser, MI and I also play for weddings, funerals, and other events. I have been teaching piano since Iwas 13, when my teacher gave me referrals for beginners. I especially love to teach students with special needs and very young beginners.

About Jared
Hello! My name is Jared Barringer. I was born and raised in the Lynchburg, Virginia, area where I fell in love with music. In Kindergarten I started piano lessons, and in 2nd grade I started trombone lessons. I had a passion to play both instruments in various capacities, including church, school, local gigs, and my local community youth symphony. I attended and graduated from college at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. While I did not pursue a music degree, I had the opportunity to be involved in my church's worship band, and be in several different recruiting bands and singing groups for my college. I played the bass guitar and sang at dozens of different churches, youth camps, conferences, and events across the country to promote and recruit students for my college. In 2014 I moved to Michigan to start my career as a W
orship Pastor at a church. As a Worship Pastor, I am involved weekly in music planning and performance in my church. I love playing music with other people. In addition to my job as a Worship Pastor, I enjoy teaching music lessons in my home. Please contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you!
