Experienced piano teacher of 14 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of piano & theory skills. I specialize in young beginners, typically use Bastien or Faber lesson books.
I absolutely love music and my goal is to help my students learn to love and appreciate music as well. I am a graduate of Umass Lowell's Music Education program. I began playing at the age of 6 and haven't been able to stop. I've taught private piano since 2000 years as well as group lessons. Most of my experience is with beginning students, but I teach all levels. My experiences in my past private lessons as well as in the teaching program at Umass have helped me to understand my students and how to help them reach their goals.
*** Lesson Details *** I work with my students to help them set and achieve their goals. Each lesson is designed and prepped to meet each student's individual needs. I believe in integrating theory, history, ear training, and technique into each lesson to develop musicianship and an overall knowledge
of the subject rather than just learning to play. I have high expectations for my students, yet I am patient and understanding. At times lessons may be challenging, but they will also be fun!
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect the students to have a keyboard/piano appropriate to their level of playing for us to have our lesson on. I will provide any books or supplementary material that may be needed. Any books purchased specifically for that student will need to be reimbursed.
*** Specialties *** Teaching young beginners and elementary age children.

I received a Bachelor's in Music Education and Performance from Drake University in Flute and Piano. Currently pursuing a Master's in Music Therapy.
At Drake, I received a musical scholarship covering 80% of my tuition costs. I was also honored to sit as Principal Flute in both the Drake Symphony Orchestra and the Drake Wind Symphony, the top performing groups at the University.
I started to play the flute and piano in second grade, and my love and passion for music have only grown and matured since then.
I enjoy sharing what I've learned, and learning from my students as well.
I am excited and thrilled by the opportunity to work with you!
Both my daughters (ages 6 and 8) are taking piano lessons with Kristin. She is a great teacher: patient, encouraging, listens to the kids, and makes sure they enjoy the lessons. We hope to have lessons with her for the long run and highly recommend her for a positive music experience.

Kristin was such a wonderful teacher for our young daughter, Margaret! We had to move out-of-state and are struggling to find someone who can fill Kristin's shoes!

Hi! I'm Josh, a passionate music educator in Boston, MA. I have taught over 2000 lessons over the past five years to piano, voice, and theory students of all ages. From preparing for rock-vocal style auditions at Berklee College of Music to helping re-discovering the fun of classical piano lessons, there is nothing I enjoy more than working with students on achieving their goals. As a gigging musician and a lifetime student myself, I know what it takes to improve, master, and most importantly ENJOY your time at your instrument. Looking forward to helping you reach all your music goals!
About me: I eat/breathe/sleep music. From writing and conducting my first A Capella piece in high school to playing in bands that have toured around the world, music is my passion and my life! I value nothing more than finding that passion in others and
working together to turn musical fantasies into realities.
From grade school to high school I took rigorous classical piano lessons. In 2006-07 I attended two summer programs at Berklee College of Music where I studied jazz/rock performance, and continued to study jazz piano at Washington University.
At Boston University, I studied classical music composition/theory, and was accepted to for a dual degree in Music Composition, Psychology, but decided to pursue music as a minor in order to allow more time for gigging. Since relocating to Boston, I have performed 250+ shows in various ensembles around the greater Boston area.

My lessons are are catered to your specific goals and where you are at, beginner to advance, 5-1000 years old. In our lessons we will work on:
- Your favorite songs, any style - Writing your own music - How to learn music by ear - How to read music notation and chord sheets. - How to record/produce yourself - really, seriously, ANYTHING YOU WANT!
I know what it's like to have a teacher that is uninspiring, or to be told that a certain kind of music is the "right kind to learn," when all you want to do is jam out to your favorite songs on the radio. I've been there. That's not what I'm about. I'll teach you how to play whatever it is you want to learn, whether that's the complete works of Bach or the latest One Direction song. Let's do it.
*** Studio Equipment *** Digital Piano, Synthesizer, Digital Audio Workstation, Recording Equipment.
*** Travel Equipment *** Piano and voice students must provide piano/keyboard.
*** Specialties *** My experience is primarily with pop/rock/jazz/classical music, but we can do any genre/style you'd like!
My 15 year old son is primarily a songwriter and guitar player. He wanted some singing lessons just so he can feel more confident as a vocalist. Joshua has been very pleasant, fairly flexible in terms of scheduling, and has delivered on that confidence. We recommend him!

Hello, and thank you for your interest!
My name is Inna, I'm a jazz and world vocalist, pianist and composer.
I come from family of musicians, and I have started exploring music since the age of 5. In addition to my classical studies in Russia, I won the only full tuition scholarship to study in famous Berklee College of Music in the competition that took place during Berklee Asia Scholarship Tour in 2010.
In Berklee I was deeply influenced and moved by Eastern European and Middle Eastern music, which lead to experimentations in fusing those genres with modal jazz and then later rock.
I studied Vocal Performance, and Contemporary Writing and Production, and I have over a decade of experience in teaching, and performing, so I look forward to working with you to develop your voice, piano, and composing/arranging skills!
rently I teach from my home studio in Boston, and I'm also available to come to your location.
Inna does a great job of breaking down the mechanics so that they are easy to understand! She gives lots of notes during the lesson and really helps you pinpoint what areas you need to work on. I've learned so much in my lessons and have been able to improve because of her feedback and practice suggestions. She is also very friendly and a fun teacher to work with!
July 21, 2019
Inna is a great teacher! I love her teaching style and she is very supportive! Have learned very useful warmup techniques and how to control breathing while singing. Highly recommended!

Not great as the "studio" consisted of a keyboard in the corner of a cramped kitchen.
