My first lesson went well. Tomoko is very patient. Even in one lesson, I felt I learned a lot. She finds out what level you're at to save time and plays to your interests. I look forward to more lessons.

Tomoko is a not only a perfassional teacher, but also a talented improvisor! She has extensive knowledge of lots of kinds of music (ballet, Jazz, classic) and excellent skill of improvising. I observed her accompany class for ballet, she was very patient and helpful which are also very important qualities of being a teacher. it was a great experience!

I am just starting to learn how to play the piano, and have had no past experience with other music teachers. Tomoko has a very pleasant and encouraging teaching style. Her approach is informal and she does not rely on a rigid "lesson plan". I would highly recommend her for those wanting a relaxed learning experience.

I have been teaching piano for over twenty years. I specialize in classical and pop. I love teaching babies and young children but I teach all ages. Piano is the hardest instrument. I try to make every lesson fun while still providing structure and a little bit of strictness. I use the Mark Nevin, Schaum, and Little Mozart series. I have tons of music to share for students that need to branch out and don't know what to play. Piano is my passion. I love sharing my love for this instrument with others.

About Kay

I have been teaching Piano for 20 years now. I have taught students from age 2 1/2 - Adult. I was self-taught when I was a kid and begun taking formal lessons as a very young adult in my early twenties. I graduated from CSULB with my BA in Music with a concentration on Voice. As a Music major, you

George explained things very simply.

George, was very patient, kind, and seem very knowledgeable. He seems to understand the pedagogy of teaching to kids and realize they all learn differently. I personally think he went above and beyond for my Son first class and for our first introduction. He offered a more modern approach method of teaching music and Piano to my son who so far seem more receptive in learning and practicing. Will se where that take us but I am very please so far.
Tracie S.
George is totally passionate about teaching. He encourages the kids to practice and do their best. He has great knowledge and understanding of music theory. He is pleasant, easy going and works really well with kids. Overall really good teacher. Recommend!

"My 6-year-old son who is on the ASD spectrum has been receiving piano lessons from Miss Marie for over a year. Miss Marie is absolutely wonderful with him -- she is patient with his sometimes quirky nature and takes the time and energy to truly understand him so she can reach him. She is creative with her lessons and tries many different approaches to give a holistic experience as well as find the approach that my son enjoys the best. The lessons and instruction are free from any pressure and she makes it fun so my son wants to play instead of feeling like he has to play. It's clear that music is her passion and she is enthusiastic and very talented. Even I've learned a great deal from her this past year! I would highly recommend Miss Marie as a piano teacher for all children, and especially for children with special needs."

Feeling Bored? 3 Ways to Stay Motivated at the Piano

Are you getting bored or perhaps discouraged with playing the piano? In this week's guest post, Allysia from PianoTV.net shares three ways to stay motivated at the piano... We all know the drill with motivation. You listen to a great recording or live performance, and are filled with energy and enthusiasm. You rush to the piano and happily practice every day for a week, a month, or even longer. But then maybe you get bored, or hit a rough patch, and suddenly you can barely drag yourself …
