Music has been my passion since starting lessons age 7 and training for years in performance, composition and theory, culminating in a masters degree from The Royal Academy of Music in London, England. Learning to read music well with enjoyment, musicality and strong technique is my main focus. I cover music from different periods in history, including music being composed today. I work with children age 5 to adults with all levels of experience. I have taught children in schools and privately in my home studio where I have an upright acoustic Schulze Pollmann (German/Italian) piano and a Yamaha keyboard with weighted keys. Learn the basics of reading and making music on a keyboard - or build on skills you already have by exploring your favorite styles and composers!

Learn Pop and Rock Piano in cutting edge approach learning chords, melody, reading. Lots of Jamming to live music is encouraged.

I teach students of all levels. Whatever experience you have, we will work with. I believe that it is important to learn how to play by ear as well as read written music. Understanding both approaches, you will be able to play almost any kind of music in a solo as well as a group setting. Depending on your experience, I can find suitable projects that will help you to develop your skills.

Students will learn basic piano skills such as hand placement, note reading, note values, pedal use, major and minor scales, expressions, etudes, pieces, memory work, music history, performance techniques, and most of all to have fun learning the piano. I will expect students to have a minimum 67 note keyboard with sustain pedal, or a good piano to use for personal practice time. Each student should spend at least 20-30 minutes daily to start. They must purchase the recommended books.

I am a professional pianist with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Juilliard School, and currently working on my Doctoral of Musical Arts at Manhattan School of Music. I have worked with several world-renowned pianists including Robert McDonald, Horacio Gutierrez, and Haesun Paik. Their influence not only helped me develop as a pianist but also taught me how to teach and showed me the impact of truly masterful teacher can have on their students.

I serve as a piano faculty member at Bronx Conservatory of Music and Lindeblad School of Music, in addition to teaching private students. I have taught students at varying levels of experience and from varying backgrounds, ranging from 4-year-old to adult. Some of them had their very first piano lesson with me and others are promising concert pianists at Juilliard pre-college.
