Hello! My name is Alan, I'm a pianist and composer based out of Marco Island, FL with an emphasis in the Jazz idiom. Piano lessons with me are unique in the fact that I integrate into my classes a diverse skill set needed to become not just a great pianist, but also a well rounded musician. My music education (classical theory and performance), as well as 3 years experience working as a jazz pianist, have given me the knowledge and understanding of music necessary to help you achieve your musical ambitions.

In my classes you will learn about harmony (chord structures, tonality), work on technical exercises that develop coordination and dexterity on the piano, learn to read and notate music and study repertoire. I am confident that I can help you progress in your own personal musical journey, whether you are just beginning to play or already have a strong foundation in the fundamentals of music.

About Alan

Hello everyone! My name is Alan, I'm a life long musician who now at the age of 28 composes, performs, and teaches music as a full time profession. My first contact with the piano was at six years old when I began taking lessons from a teacher in my home town. During this time I learned how to r

Patient. Really nice. Informative.

When I came to Sandra I was one month away from my college piano audition and in need of a miracle. I had to prepare four quite difficult pieces and I had not taken any piano lessons since I was 12 years old (over 6 years). I knew this sounded very impossible but I went for it anyway. A month later, I got accepted into the Piano Performance program. So basically, Sandra is a miracle worker. She didn't only help me ace these pieces from scratch and learn the proper way and style to play them in, but she also helped me record my audition tapes and let me use her piano for them. She took her own personal time to give me extra help so I could get into this university and she was always supportive and caring too. Not only is she a piano master, but she is also extremely nice so every lesson was very pleasant and enjoyable. My piano skills greatly improved in just a month and I cannot thank her enough for everything she's helped me achieve. So if you are looking for an amazing piano teacher, you just found her! Seriously, look no further, you will not be disappointed.

9 months in taking lessons from Chris and it has been a great experience so far. Not only am I learning how to play the piano, but I'm also learning music theory. Not just how to play certain notes and chords but why. Highly recommended.

Kris is an excellent teacher and instructor. He caters each lesson to my abilities and interests. He explains music theory concepts clearly and follows up each lesson with an emailed summary of what was taught. He's willing to work with you at your pace. My skills as a pianist and song writer have improved significantly since I began working with Kris. He's been able to successfully adapt to online lessons in a way that has made it possible for us to continue working together even though he's on the East coast and I'm on the West coast. His talent as a musician is only surpassed by his skill as a teacher. I can't recommend him highly enough. If you want to take piano seriously and really develop as a musician, Kris is the best mentor you will find.
Judson
Kris tailored a curriculum for exactly what my goals were and in just under a year I went from 0 to quite confident on the piano! He's patient, flexible, and there seem to be no gaps in his knowledge.

I'm from Hong Kong and had come to Mr Brian Lam's masterclass and private lesson in 2018&2019 when he came to HK. To me, Brian Lam is not only a piano teacher, but also a master, mentor and music friend. He knows a lot of music and his passion and teaching brings me to enjoy music more and inspire me a lot! He is very nice, professional and patient and always encourage me to develop my potential and improve my piano skills in both musically and technically. I also admire his piano skills a lot, he can play great and difficult pieces in a very beautiful way. I am always looking forward to seeing him and having lessons with him soon!
Tiffany
The reason I came to Mr. Brian: I wasn't making any progress under my previous teacher at a local music school. I'd say I absolutely have made the right decision to study with him! At first, my parents thought Mr. Brian's piano lessons are a bit expensive, but they let me try out the first few lessons. Worth the price! I have stayed with him for almost 4 years. He is so passionate with piano and he always tries to push me to my fullest potential, even when certain pieces seem impossible for me to tackle. We are working on a 45 min college audition program; I have never imagined I could make it this far (I hated piano when I was a kid).
Michelle
Mr. Brian has prepped me well for performances. I have learned a lot from him. He is very passionate about music and he really taught me how to express myself through piano playing. I am a very shy person and have stage fright. My parents think I have advanced a lot under Brian's tutelage. I highly recommend him. A great friend, mentor and an amazing pianist!

She personalizes each lesson with a music binder that she puts together for you. And she is gracing the music world with a book on her method! Her repertoire/bookshelf is endless. We never have to ask out kids to practice, even after 2 years! Never experienced that with the other teachers. Fawn is also very humble. She has a stellar music career, but you would never know it by her down to earth personality. HIGHLY recommend her to any child or adult wanting to pursue piano, songwriting or voice."
