Do you want to play classical piano music, rock keyboard, pop music, jazz? You are in the right place!

I choose and adapt songs according to the age, interests, goals, and skills of the students. I also use the songs to teach different musical concepts: intervals, progressions, scales, chords. Every student is different, so I don't use any specific method.

La clase puede ser en español.

I am a pianist, songwriter, and keyboard player and backup singer for a prog-rock band and also a music teacher. I've been teaching music for a long time. Why? Because I love music and I love to teach. My mission statement: get you to enjoy music while learning. The best moments on my work ar

My son, Dominick, has taken voice lessons with Laura for a few months at the School of Rock. He made great progress and was able to perform nicely. He feels very close to Laura and misses her a lot and can't wait to learn with her again when he's back in town.

Laura was beyond kind and understanding with me! I learned so much in just one short hour, and more importantly, she made the lesson so much fun! I absolutely look forward to learning more from her.

My daughter has been taking lessons with Laura for over 3 years. Laura makes the lessons fun and challenges her to learn. She even adds a little music theory which my daughter enjoys.

*COVID-19 UPDATE*
Since Allegheny County is moving to the green phase of reopening, I am beginning to phase in in-person lessons again. Please be aware that if you want to take in-person lessons, they will have to be socially distanced and with masks for the time being.

I have been studying piano for over ten years and I am a member of the National Music Teacher's Association - Greater Pittsburgh Chapter. I am certified through level 10 (advanced) in the California Certificate of Merit for Piano program. I also play French horn and have my Bachelor's degree in Music, specifically in French horn performance, from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

My hope in teaching piano lessons is to instill in others the lifelong joy that I have discovered through learning piano. Being able to sit down and create a piece of music is a magical thing that I am excited to pass on to my students! Lessons will be tailored to the individual student's level and goals.

I have been playing music since I was 3 years old and have been teaching for the last 5 years. I set up every lesson plan to match what the student would like to learn as well as making sure to meet the parents goals and expectations. I work with all ages and all levels. I also work very well with those that have special needs such as Autism. Every lesson is engaging and exciting, it is never a dull moment.

About April

I picked up music when I was very young and have never looked back. I started with the piano and then moved on to the violin, of which I competed regularly in up until high school. In high school I switched the viola and found it to me even more amazing. During high school I competed again in music

More than simply helping students "play the correct notes", I help students understand music as a type of language; I endevear to teach students how to be expressive and communicative. This perspective stems from my educational background. Not only do I have a master's degree in piano performance but also a PhD in music theory, an area of study that seeks to understand the grammar of music, how it "works".

About Nikolas

I have a doctorate in music theory that I earned from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. While there, I taught a majority of the undergraduate music theory courses. I also have a master's degree in piano performance that I earned at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. I have be

Nik has been teaching my younger brother and I for a while now, and I believe that he is a great teacher to work with. He helped my brother, who had no prior experience at playing piano, learn at a surprisingly rapid pace. Nik is a very patient person but definitely does not waste time. I can also see that he is very passionate in this field and likes to teach us more than just reading and playing. He slips in some music theory here and there and also tries to help us understand music at a deeper level, which is very interesting. He always keeps the mood up at every lesson, and I could see that he would be great with younger kids as well. We are about to try online lessons with him for the first time this week, so we’ll see how that goes.

My son was hesitant about taking lessons, but once he met Nik he couldn't wat to go back. Nik worked with the knowledge he already had and as expanded it exponentially. Nik's calming and encouraging nature made him feel at home. I couldn't imagine taking lessons from anyone else.

"I took lessons with David for quite a while. I am 20 years old now. When i took lessons i was about 14-15... David is amazing. Not only is he very personable and an incredible talent... but he is also quite legendary. The man HAS stories. I've had several piano teachers in the past, but David is the only one i can TRULY say... impacted my artistic and musical heart as well as my character. He MADE ME want to learn and grow as a pianist without even realizing it. I built a friendship with this man while throughout each lesson. I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn piano, feel the key board the right way, understand and appreciate music the right way.... and lastly... to be taught by truly, an impressive personality. (he also looks like Jim Morrison.)"

"Piano lessons for 2 young active boys

Tim is an extremely patient, calm and professional piano teacher. He has been teaching my 5 and 7 year old boys for 8 months now. They are not easy students- one is a total wiggle worm and the other has a speech/language delay. He handles the situation beautifully. The best part is that the boys are learning properly from the very basics- sitting at the piano, hand positioning, rhythm, reading music, and actually playing. We're using Alfred's basic course starting from pre-reading and beginner. HIghly recommend for a low-stress music teacher."

5 Piano Exercises That Target Your Left Hand

As you're playing the piano, does it feel like your left hand just can't keep up with the right? Here, Corona, CA teacher Milton J. shares a few piano exercises to add to your practice to target this common struggle... The dreaded left hand. The hand with a mind of its own, the hand that lags behind the right, and the hand that does not seem that smart. While all of these conjectures are common, it stems from a lack of detailed attention to developing the accompanying left hand in conjunction …
