I have been taking lessons for over a year with Dee. I started with mandolin and then switched to piano. Dee is very knowledgeable about both instruments and is an extremely patient and approachable teacher. I’m an older student so I really appreciate her patience and ability to challenge me at the right level. I’ve tried other teachers that were either too rigid or too unstructured and Dee is neither. I highly recommend Dee as a music instructor, she clearly has a lot of experience and knowledge about how to teach.

Very patient and understanding person. At my age of 62 and trying to learn the bass along with the challenges of issues brought by life, these sessions have become therapeutic in nature....
Mike O.
Dee was very informative and answered all my questions. She understands that myself an older student returning to music has a different approach and she is going to work with me. I am looking forward to next week.

I began playing piano at age 18 while attending community college. I found playing music to be a magical and fulfilling experience. I quickly advanced through the levels, and graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Music in 1993.
Since I love making music so much, I wanted to share with others the joy of music, and began teaching in 1991. Music is a fun form of self-expression and can improve focus and self-confidence. I enjoy teaching students of all levels and ages.
Whatever your reason for learning, I’m sure I can help you reach your music goals. Sign up for your first lesson today, and let’s get started!

Heather is a great teacher; she is able to gauge ability and keeps the lessons varied and interesting, always pushing you just at the edge, beyond what you thought you were capable of. Friendly, amiable, and laidback in style, she makes learning in a comfortable atmosphere fun. You can tell she has a real passion for music and teaching, and results after just a few lessons proves she knows what she is doing.

I am a beginning singer, my only prior experience was singing with the congregation in church, not the choir.
Quinn
She's really nice, and makes warm-ups before starting the lesson for your voice range. The variety of songs you can sing is pretty big, you want to sing in Italian? There's plenty! Want to sing in Latin? I'm pretty sure there's a few! There are songs from various musicals, too. All in all, she's a pretty great teacher.

I have been playing piano since age 3 and teaching for 10 years. I believe it is very important to understand the theory that goes along with what you are playing, so I include some theory in all of my lessons. I love teaching piano and I hope to share the joy of music with others.

"We first started lessons with Troy almost three years ago, and we continue to be impressed with the progress made over just a few years of practicing! Our oldest son, who is now eight, has worked very hard to prepare his weekly lessons. He works on short pieces, sight-reading, and now ear training.
Troy’s impressive training has given him a very well-rounded appreciation of music that is rare in a teacher –most focus on one thing, with the result leaning heavily towards technique or theory. He is able to incorporate multiple aspects of a piece so that they are all equally weighted, and neither the minor points nor the big picture are neglected.
Perhaps more impressive than Troy’s educational background is his ability to make learning piano fun! He is an outstanding teacher!"

"My 6 year old grandson, Bruce, has been taking virtual lessons from Alex for almost a year. It has been a wonderful experience for Bruce.

He knows how to interact with Bruce and he often gives encouragement and advice with patience. It's amazing how much Bruce has learned about piano in a short time. Not only Alex is a great teacher, he often takes the opportunity to introduce a special piece of music that ties in with Bruce's current interest. For example, Alex taught Bruce how to play the beginning piece to Hamilton after he learned Bruce had gone to see the play. We were all very surprised how well he played it. This piece of music has a special meaning for Bruce. It's things like this that make learning more fun. Thanks Alex for sharing your love of music with Bruce. This rewarding experience would last a lifetime. I highly recommend Alex to anyone who is interested in learning music."

"I Would Recommend Kelvin to Anyone

I am 67 and never had music lessons before. I’ve been studying the piano with Kelvin for about 7 months now. I think Kelvin is a good teacher because:

- He never says “that’s good enough.” He has high standards and if there is anything lacking in my performance, he makes sure I know what it is.

- He is very encouraging, and when he tells me I’ve finally got a piece right, I know that means something.

- He is always pushing me to do a little better. (Not too pushy though.)

- He is very good about correcting my technique and explaining why things are done a certain way.

I intend to continue lessons with Kelvin for the foreseeable future; and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a music teacher."
