I had no clue how to play a bass guitar. I was fortunate thru the college he was teaching at to be honored to have Scott teach me at my beginner level, the basics of bass guitar. His patience with me was much appreciated as again, this was new to me and at the time being 69 years old, I wasn’t a quick learner. After several sessions, I was able to play basic cords, study the notes on the frets thru his lesson plan. I was sad that Scott left the college for NYC, but was very happy for him as he wanted to pursue his masters degree. Thanks to his patience and excellent teaching skills, I was able to continue lessons with another instructor and not embarrass myself as I had minute skills that helped me become a little more than a beginner. I am still going at it and loving every second but it was Scott’s patience and teaching skills that kept the fire lit to continue pursuing my love of the bass guitar. I can’t thank Scott enough and I wish him well with his goal of a master’s degree.

Scott is a great teacher and an even better friend. His background in music makes him unlike any other instructor. I’d highly recommend him to anyone, at any skill level.

I've been teaching piano for 5 years with students ages 4-70+. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play short songs, identify the piano keys and begin learning how to read music. Over time, you will be confidently playing with both hands and will pick up pieces more quickly. I specialize in beginner lessons and typically use the Faber Piano Adventures and Alfred books (for adults). I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Brian is the man! I've been casually learning how to play guitar on my own for the last few years, but I have very little actual music theory knowledge and I've definitely picked up some not-so-good habits along the way. Brian has been awesome at filling in the gaps and getting my fundamentals straightened out - I've learned more in just a few lessons with him than I have in years of "noodling".

Dr. C has the unique ability to make his lessons fun and profound. As someone who didn’t have a formal classical music background, he has consistently encouraged me and has intensified my creativity and curiosity by exposing me to music and ideas that are now indispensable to me. He is passionate, funny, witty, and undoubtedly the most valuable instructor I’ve ever had.
Dr. Daniel Plante
Dr. C. is a longtime trusted colleague with a sterling resume and excellent reputation among his students at both Queens College and Mannes College. Having taught a good number of his former students, I can attest to both the preparation they received from him but their respect and admiration they hold. Much Recommended.

Dr. Eric C. is one of the most influential people in my life, and I have the honor of being coached by him. His attention to detail, intuition as a coach, and professor is truly one that is unmatched. He has the ability to show you something in a different light, which opens
up doors for you that you didn't know existed before. With his guidance, compassion, complete joy of this art form, and incredible knowledge, I was able to perform very difficult pieces. He always works diligently,
to ensure that no stone is left unturned, and every detail of the music is conveyed in how it is intended.

Any questions I have are always met with the utmost clarity. I appreciate greatly that he takes the time to ensure I understand the “why" of what I'm learning. He has a remarkable way knowing how to break
things down in a way that I always remember and am able to process, which has helped me immensely. My knowledge and understanding is always
expanding because of him. During my undergrad at the Aaron Copland School of Music, he was my theory and ear training professor. He goes above and beyond for all of his students and will always make sure that
they understand every detail in what they are learning. Any fears I ever had in learning the "challenging" concepts of music have been taken away
because of him, and now I welcome the challenges that come my way.

He has taught me how to truly listen to music, and dive into the depths of it, which in turn has given me an appreciation of this art form that can only be explained as transcendent. No matter how much knowledge I
acquire on my path as a musician, I will forever be in total awe of this art form. My gratitude for him is immense. "Before anything, you are a
musician first."-Dr. C.

"Excellent Teacher

I am an older student and I started to learn to play the piano more than a year ago under a different teacher. I started with Eugene about 4 months ago. I was struggling with the piano previously. But after just 2 lessons with Eugene, I found myself playing confidently. Eugene explains so clearly and everything makes sense to me now. I enjoy practicing everyday now. He is excellent teacher, patient, and very professional. He is always on time."

"I really enjoyed taking lessons from Heather. She provided many fun incentives to reward practicing and help me reach goals. I appreciated that before she pointed out something I needed to correct that week, she first gave positive words about what I had accomplished that week in my practicing. I also appreciated her emphasis on theory--(learning chords, cadences, scales, arpeggios), playing by ear, and improvising. She provided me with a great classical foundation and helped me develop into an advanced pianist before entering college and furthering my pianistic development."

How to Practice Piano Arpeggios | Tips and Exercises

Don't forget about piano arpeggios when you sit down to practice! Here, Helendale, CA teacher Sylvia S. shares her tips for playing and practicing them...   One of the great masters of 20th century piano showmanship was Liberace, otherwise known as the Elvis of piano performance. Liberace’s trademarks were wildly ostentatious outfits, candelabras atop the piano, and dramatic, finger-tangling sweeps across the keyboard of a grand piano. Those dramatic sweeps, known as arpeggios, ar …

No one goes to the gym and does the same routine day in and day out. Why should you have to trudge your way through the same repetitive piano exercises over and over? Teaching yourself piano requires a bit of creativity in this respect. So crack your knuckles, climb down off the top of the piano before you scratch the surface, and g …
