I teach piano in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play a certain style like Funk, or Blues, or how to approach a classical sonata. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

About John

Hello, Thanks so much for taking the time to inquire about studying music with me. Music and studying music has always been a passionate experience for me. I have been so blessed with the teachers and fellow musicians in my life. You should realize that your study of music may start with me,

Reading of music and basic piano technique are emphasized, incorporating aspects of music theory and musicality.

About Kathryn

Kathy believes that variety is the spice of not only life, but also music. Raised singing folk music with a musical family (think accordions, guitars and lots of vocal harmonies), she learned guitar and piano at an early age, but began singing even earlier. Her quest to give the world the best

Amazing!!! A bright, joyful light!

My experience with Kathy has been great. It's been roughly five months and I learned a lot and I'm also much more confident to sing. Learning the right techniques is crucial. Kathy is extremely patient and she adapts the classes to the student goals and aspirations. English is not my first language and she was also always very respectful and patient in explaining everything twice or maybe three times until I get it.

Kathryn has a terrific demeanor, and provides clear, thoughtful suggestions for technique!

I have been playing music since I was 3 years old and have been teaching for the last 5 years. I set up every lesson plan to match what the student would like to learn as well as making sure to meet the parents goals and expectations. I work with all ages and all levels. I also work very well with those that have special needs such as Autism. Every lesson is engaging and exciting, it is never a dull moment.

About April

I picked up music when I was very young and have never looked back. I started with the piano and then moved on to the violin, of which I competed regularly in up until high school. In high school I switched the viola and found it to me even more amazing. During high school I competed again in music

I have played piano since I was five-years-old. I had an amazing teacher who was always engaging and fun -- I strive to be like her with my students. I generally use Alfred or Bastian Methods to start out and then adjust according to my students' needs. I encourage daily practice and always am willing to consult with parents of younger students on how to implement this. I also love to encourage my students to chose music they'd like to learn!

About Becca

I am a friendly, outgoing, and passionate music teacher! I play the harp and piano and absolutely love to spread the joy of music. I started playing the harp because my grandmother was a harpist and I thought it was the most beautiful instrument. After all these years, I still love the amazing sound

Hello there! My name is J and music has been a part of my life since I was a young kid. I learned to play the piano when I was 8 and never stopped learning since. Eventually, I taught myself how to play the guitar and a whole new world of music opened up for me and I would love to share my knowledge with you in a fun, energetic and creative way. Hope to hear from you soon!

About Jay

Hello Students/Parents, My name is Jay and I have been playing the piano since Elementary school and the guitar since High School. A piano upbringing instilled in me the core basics of music and music theory. Which eventually led me to teaching myself the guitar; which led to writing my own songs

I really like Jay’s style. He gave me a lot of foundational information that will help me to remember and to learn the chords and how to keep things moving forward. I am looking forward to practicing every day what I learned today… And then my next lesson with Jay.

"Sophia is absolutely the best piano teacher ever! She's punctual, kind, and patient. She genuinely cares that I understand not just how to play the piano, but also the theoretical apparatus behind the music that I'm learning to play. I will take lessons from her until I'm taking a dirt nap."

"I have played woodwinds for years, and plucked away at piano a little here and there. So, my education is pretty much a mishmosh.
