I have been teaching piano almost as long as I have been performing, coming up on 10 years. I started teaching beginners when I was just a teenager, and as I learned more about pedagogy and about piano myself, I branched into teaching more advanced students. To date, I have taught lessons to over 100 different students ranging in age from 5 to 70, and ranging in skill from complete beginner to college piano performance major.
Not every student is going to think I’m the best fit for them. I expect consistent practice, completion of assignments, and attention to detail in music. I have had many trial lessons that don’t pan out because the student or parent thinks my expectations are too high for them. Make no mistake; I expect a lot, but I also care deeply about music and have great understanding and sympathy for those who genuinely try. Whether your goal is to learn to read music, improve rhythm, learn to play the great classical repertoire, or simply have a good time learning the ...

Listen, if you're ready to dive into this beautiful world of music, figure out how to play any and every song you've ever imagined, and impress your friends and family with your blossoming musical skills, then you've come to the right place! Whether you're a beginner or you have been playing for years, there is always room for lessons and what better time then RIGHT NOW!
I'm Manny, and I'm ready to take you to the next level of your musical journey. I've been playing piano professionally since I was 8 (almost 20yrs!). I've taught for ten years, and I've musically directed multiple theatre shows, wedding bands, large church choirs, and have organized and played hundreds of concerts in my career. So, why should I be your teacher? Well I could tout my pedigree, but anyone can do that! Truly? I want to teach you about the JOY of music (not just how to play notes on a keyboard)! I want you to walk away after your first lesson, having fallen in love with music just a little

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

I work very long, irregular hours at an extremely stressful job so I picked up piano lessons as a stress-management mechanism. To be clear, I had played for over 8 years before I stopped in college. So, my primary goal was to regain enough skill to be able to learn pieces quickly and play them for leisure.
Troy has been very patient, flexible, and supportive. Importantly, he is able to tailor each week's lesson to his students' needs. Some weeks I come in and I've had time to practice. But on other weeks, where I come in during a break at work having not even SEEN a piano all week, we work on sight reading and technique. Even if you haven't practiced, he makes each lesson worthwhile.
And my sight reading has improved dramatically!"

Brent is a great teacher for any level of piano player. I tried teaching myself for the past year (mainly off youtube) but I've made more progress in 1 month learning from Brent that I have in 12 months on my own. While always taking into account my personal piano goals, Brent is able to identify ineffective aspects of my technique and gaps in my understanding of basic theory and has titrated the perfect amount of new attainable material to keep me engaged and sitting down to practice every chance I get.
Highly recommended for any style (jazz, classical, blues, pop, etc...)."
