I will be glad to share my knowledge of basic theory and the ability to read music for students who have never played piano. You'll be able to learn to read any piece of music that you like from modern charts to more classical. For those 'self-taught' I will be able to show you a more in depth look at the theory behind the art of instrumentation.

I come from a musical family where everyone was able to play piano at a high level and considered pursuing a career in piano for a long time. Although violin had become my primary instrument, I still perform and teach. I teach any level from beginner to advanced!
Some of the books I use - Piano lessons, Level 1 James Bastien, J. S. Bach 24 Fuges and preludes, L. Beethoven Piano Sonatas, A. Mozart Piano Sonatas.

Q&A:

Q.: Do you teach bi-weekly lessons?

A.: No, I do not give bi-weekly lessons, and require all of my students to take at least 4 lessons a month to be able to join my studio.

Q.: What happens if I miss a lesson?

A.: My studio policy is that all of my students are required to give me an at least 24-hour notice if they will be missing their lesson for any reason with the exception of illness or family emergencies. It is the student's responsibility to reschedule the lesson for the same week, or their lesson time will be charged in full. For illnesses and ...

All Ages and All Levels. Classically trained. Encourage students to incorporate favorite songs/genres of music be it rock, pop, jazz, etc. For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs. Let's make beautiful music!

About Jenny

Music Jenny comes from a very musical family and started piano when she was five years old. She grew up constantly listening to her father practicing his guitar and brother practicing violin. Since then, her accomplishments include an Honorable Mention at the Korea Times Youth Music Competition. S

I've been playing piano for over 25 years and teaching piano for over 10. I use a wide variety of piano methods to fit the individual needs of all my students. Students will learn how to properly care for their instrument, how to read music, music theory, instrument technique, practice techniques, ear training (how to play by ear), and repertoire. I even have my own experimental piano courses that I have developed myself. Group piano lessons are also available at a lower cost on Saturdays only.

About Kyle

Kyle is a great piano teacher! He is very patient with my 12-year old son. Just yesterday he referred to him as “fun Kyle” because he teaches him small songs on the side that he can show friends and family or are for upcoming holidays. He’s always punctual and respectful of our family and home. I’m grateful to have found him!

Rachel is very student-centered. She focuses on what her students want to learn rather than a set curriculum. She also helps with their weak points as well. I highly recommend working with Rachel.

Rachel is a great teacher who really knows her stuff and wants to help her student. Her lessons are always thought out and her critique is always on point. She allows for enough creative freedom to be able to give you notes afterwards that enable you to build on them because she wants you to achieve your potential. She really cares and will help you wherever she can whether its for an upcoming audition or polishing your resume. I highly recommend her teaching.

Rachel is an amazing teacher! She helped me with a self tape and was so amazing! She not only coached me on the acting of the scene, but also in how to make sure the technical side of the self tape was as effective as possible. I highly recommend her!

"My son at aged 8 begged for piano lessons. I looked online and somehow I had enough good karma to find Fawn. I was tempted to go to like a “kids club” type of class because I thought he could do a trial first and then I could judge his commitment. But once he met Fawn, he was all in. I am sure people who know more about music than I would agree that he has technically progressed over the past several months. I mean he started from nothing and is playing and learning from Fawn and eager to pick things up on his own. But, I find you can get technical anywhere. What you can’t get anywhere is Fawn. (My son actually gets mad when I refer to Fawn as “his teacher” because he says she is so cool so I should call her Fawn! :) ) If I were to give an official review I would say my son has played lesson book songs, solo pieces, memorizing music, music theory, note spelling, reading about the great composers, taken several written tests to find out what he has retained and has advanced considerably in a short amount of time, etc. Fawn is classically trained and trained in jazz and tends to be fun around my son, yet tough about the rules. She approaches every lesson from the perspective of the student. My son always reminds me to write from the heart like I make him do. So I asked him, when I wanted to write a review, what should I say? He said, “Say Fawn loves music and she loves me.” So, long story long, very highly recommend."
