I wrote a review before, when I had just started having singing lessons with Erin but it’s been more than three years, so it’s time for an update. ;)
I really enjoy my lessons with Erin and I notice a great difference in my vocal range and technique from when I first started having lessons with her. She’s patient and supportive, and she always has great suggestions for new songs to learn. I’m really building up a repertoire. :)
Erin offers for her students to participate in studio recitals twice a year and I feel like I‘ve also improved my performance skills (stage fright is real for me but I’m slowly becoming more confident singing in front of others).
We had to move the lessons and recitals online during the pandemic and that worked out really well too.

I really recommend lessons with Erin, you will learn a lot and you‘ll have fun doing so!
Robin
A great first lesson. Erin is patient and understanding. I look forward to our next session.

I have been teaching all levels of piano for many years, from beginners to advanced and professional. I hold a Doctorate in Piano Performance, an Artist Diploma from the Mozarteum Academy in Austria, and a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance. DeAnna has excellent credentials as a pianist and music theorist, but more importantly for me she is a patient teacher and good communicator who works hard to ensure that I learn and understand even the most basic skills and techniques. She is also fun to talk to and be with, and her love of music is infectious. She is an excellent teacher for an older student, and I imagine for younger ones too.

Deanna was great! Nice, patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I learned basic technique which already has me feeling more comfortable. I'm looking forward to progressing and confident I've made the right choice.

I provide every student with different pieces according to his/her age and individual abilities. Each student has a different learning speed and level of enthusiasm which needs to be taken into account. With young children I find it helpful to integrate games, stories and pictures to enliven the lesson. I try not to be too strict, but I expect my students to practice at home and not to miss lessons. I use a number of books and methods. After 3 to 6 months a young student will have learned at least 12 notes on the staff, to sight-read easy pieces, to understand count rhythm values, and to play simple songs .

I have been teaching piano since 2010 in a wide variety of settings, styles, and age groups. It is never too early or late to begin leaning piano!

I tailor my teaching approach for the specific needs and goals of each student, always putting their priorities first. While I am versed in theoretical approaches and using method books like Piano Adventures and the Hal Leonard series, I am also fluent in working on contemporary music with a focus on ear training and improvisation.
