I am all about teaching the whole musician, meaning that you will not be learning just piano but all the skills necessary to be the best musician you can be! This includes ear training, music theory, sight-singing and more.

About Alexis
I believe in teaching all aspects of musicianship when learning an instrument such as music theory, ear training, and singing, just to name a few. I have been private teaching for more than 7 years and I specialize in trombone, music theory/ear training, and piano lessons and have taught a variety of levels. I provide a very inviting environment for students to learn and grow.

Piano is an amazing instrument and has so much power. Have you wanted to learn your favorite songs? The piano is an easy instrument to start learning those and the way I focus on learning music is by focusing on the songs you like to play and listen to.

We focus on ear training, theory, proper practice techniques. We will learn excersizes to help us play with both hands better.

I also am a Jazz musician, so we can talk about imrovisation and comping as well

About Brandon
I am a professional Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute player. I have been composing my own music for video games and short films, and working as a mixing engineer for a couple years now, just really exploring many different aspects of music. I have a degree from Utah Valley University in Commercial Music, and spent most of that degree on the performance aspect of music.

My Saxophone students can expect some of the fun and some of the practical. We will be working on articulation, tone production, intonation, breathing, different forms of vibrato and many other aspects of control over the saxophone while learning songs that you as the student want to learn.

I have been taking piano lessons for 15 years, and turning around and teaching the techniques and abilities to my students have been really fun! We work on the fundamentals, but we
focus on learning cool songs and do things that few other instruments can do.

I have a lot of fun with music theory. I try to be practical in what students need to know, but can teach much more. I have a jazz background and can teach jazz theory, including comping and improvisation.

Brandon is fantastic. I don't know that he's ever given me a word of bad advice, and has been a HUGE help in getting my career as a producer and narrator off the ground. He's incredibly knowledgeable and skillful, and my experiences in both hiring him and learning from him have been absolutely fantastic. I would heartily recommend him!

Music lessons should be fun, encouraging and full of music that you love. They are an opportunity to learn something new, show your improvement, and receive correction, encouragement and praise. Students and instructors should play together frequently throughout and the time should be balanced with theory, technique and exercises, sight-reading, and performance and seasoned with introductions to a variety of music and styles. I like to encourage students to play because they love to play and to find the music that is an integral part of their soul, then to share that with others through performance. What do you want to do with or gain from your music? We will work toward your goals.

About Jennifer
Music is a huge part of my life and I love sharing that with others. Helping and seeing others discover and develop their talents and find joy in music is something I love.

I come from a musical family and have been singing and playing the piano since before I can remember. Flute (and piccolo) lessons began for me in the 7th grade and I participated in both concert and marching bands from there though college. Now I take regular opportunities to play with various groups of all sizes.

I have taught music (theory, flute, piano and vocal) to students of varying ages and backgrounds both individually and in groups. Working as the woodwind and marching assistant at my alma mater was a thrill and I enjoied seeing and helping students push themselves and reap the rewards of both talent and recognition for their efforts and accomplishments.

While participating in the Prince William Community Band, I had the opportunity to learn to play some percussion instruments and played in that section for a couple years. I have been a music director for several years and enjoy arranging music. It is never to late to start learning if you have the desire and persistence.

Such an amazing experience working with Jennifer. If you are just starting out singing and are in need of learning the basics and more about where you are at in your voice you will be very happy. She is encouraging, fun, and will help you to find where you still need to practice. She will help you to break it down and to get the concepts down. She is also flexible, if you happen to run into a problem like I did with illness. If you are willing to put in the practice, you will find your time with her enjoyable and extremely valuable. I will be working with Jennifer again in the future...

I have been playing the piano since I was five years old, and when I began I didn't particularly like playing. Because of that, I have learned how to make it fun for young aspiring pianists. When we begin, we will of course learn basic technique and simple classical songs, but we will also learn simple arrangements of popular songs that will catch your child's attention. As we progress through the learning process, the student's input will be very important to me. We will learn songs that are important to their growth, and songs that they want to perform.
I believe that if the student wants to play the piano, they should learn songs that they want to learn while simultaneously learning correct technique and methods that will help them to eventually learn pieces without the support or help of a teacher.

About Kaitlin
Hi! My name is Kaitie Chan and I am so excited to hopefully work with you!
I have been playing the piano since I was five years old and have been singing for just as long, and have been helping to teach beginner students for the past year.
I have two main focuses in teaching - one, learning correct technique and skills that will help you to continue playing piano for the rest of your life, and two, learning songs and pieces that interest you!
Once we learn some basic piano pieces, we can branch out to many other skills, including learning how to sing and play the piano at the same time, learning how to write songs, learning how to create mashups, learning jazz piano skills, and many more. I have a highly diversified skill set and would love to help you learn what you want to learn!

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching or learning the piano. Because every student is unique, I teach students, not lessons.

So many students quit learning an instrument because they cannot stand the monotony of going to a lesson and practicing only to check off one song every week. They may also quit because parents tire of the incessant prodding needed to get a student to practice. With goal-based practicing and learning, in which a student has personal goals that they have set and decided upon, they will be more inclined to continue learning and they will enjoy the challenge. Although there are some aspects of learning any musical instrument that you cannot push to the side, I believe there are times when a student does not have to be well-versed in every area or genre of the instrument.

No matter your background or goals, I have the experience and training to help you attain your those goals and get you closer to reaching your vision. I have taught six to ...

About Levi
There are ways of expressing emotion and feeling emotion that can only be felt through music. I believe this is because music has the ability to connect all of us with the divine.

My first priority with every student is to help them feel the music they are making on a level deeper than how the music works technically. Though I will never discount the importance of learning correct techniques and studying academic repertoire, there is nothing more important than learning how to express emotions through music and to perform in a way to allow others to feel moved by what is performed.

Students who develop this ability will never quit playing their instrument. They may quit lessons at some point in there life due to reaching some kind of personal comfort level, but they will never quit because they will have found an outlet that allows the
m to express themselves in a way unlike anything else.

I'm currently receiving a degree in organ performance from Brigham Young University and have taken many classes focusing on piano and organ pedagogy. I have years of teaching experience and have maintained a piano/organ studio since the age of fourteen. I currently serve as organist in my own religion and in another denomination. At a young age I caught on to the amazing power of music. I hope to help my students to do the same, not only by instilling in each of them a love and understanding of music but also by guiding them to find their own form of expression and feel their own connection to others through music.

About Dale
I started playing the piano when I was a whopping five years old! To tell you the truth, for seven years I was BORED TO DEATH! Playing piano was not fun, and I was forced to play music that I didn't like.

Then something humorous happened. I was about to give up when my mom (in her infinite wisdom) took me aside one day and filled me in on a little secret. She said, "Dale, girls dig the guys who can play the piano!" Ha. At age 12, this tidbit of information turned out to be pretty useful. :)

In all seriousness, I jumped in, got to work and paid the price to become really good at becoming a well-rounded pianist (sight reading, composing, arranging, playing by ear, improv, performing, music production) and as a result I was able to take state in piano performance, was on the judging panel for the international Gina Bachauer piano competiti
on, accepted at Tuacahn High School for the performing arts where I studied piano composition and performed in plays, self produced over 100 original compositions with more in the works, performed for the Prince of Ethiopia, and have been blessed to be able to share my love of piano with past and current piano students.
