I bring more than thirty years of experience in teaching piano to students of every age and level. All lessons are tailored to each student's level and comprehension. I use a comprehensive approach to teaching piano incorporating technique development, learning of theory, piano performance and sight reading. In my lessons, I select and combine music from different music periods and styles.

About Ruth
I have played piano since I was six years old, when my parents enrolled me in my first music classes. I continued my music education while going to elementary, middle, and high school. Ultimately, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Music from Butler University, located in Indianapolis, Indiana

Music has been one of my greatest passions since I was a little girl, and teaching it is my favorite way to share my love of music. I teach students of all ages and skill levels from early beginners to experienced piano players who want to bring their performance to a higher level.

I emphasize piano technique, musicianship, performance skills and music history. But I also use piano lessons to help my students develop life skills, such as concentration, focus, poise and discipline. I love to see my students to build con
fidence and self-esteem from playing beautiful music.

Piano is a wonderful instrument. I am glad you came to me for instruction and will do my best to get you playing in no time! My training is in classical. I went to Berklee College of Music and came back playing jazz. I perform in two bands currently.
I acknowledge how unique each student is and their differences in learning which is why I tailor lessons to meet their needs and in which they, you, may progress the best. I am not a fan of the cookie cutter methods for learning piano!

About Nicholas
Hey prospective student or parent of a student! Thanks for taking a minute to check out my stuff.

A few words on my background:
Started piano lessons at age 5. Studied under Russian conservatory teacher in my teens until high school graduation. Right after high school attend Berklee College of Music for piano performance/songwriting. Left Berklee 2010, and two years later started taking on students. Since my initial start at age five to the present age 30, I have been played in recitals, written much music, played keys in jazz/fusion and reggae bands, and got a job playing piano for a musical a school was putting on. (P.S. I also sing bass in my church choir and play the electric bass in a folk band) There is no doubt how big a role music has played in my life.

That's why I aim to help nurture not just the love of pia
no but the love of music for the student. And of course honoring the goals you have as well. Whether having a focus on theory, learning classical, jazz, that new pop song that you like, or maybe you have a audition coming up.

Feel free to contact me via the TakeLesson platform and ask questions! I'd be happy to address them and potentially teach some music. Thanks!

Mr. Nick has been such a great find for us! He has taken my daughter from not having any piano experience to the point where she is able to even play some classical music pieces. He has been extremely accommodating with our schedule/ her schedule, as it becomes quite busy at times and difficult in trying to get our weekly lessons in.

Because of a throat and larynx condition, I sought help with my voice. Dena was very thorough in explaining the vocal cords and breathing. This was my first experience with a professional voice instructor and I was very pleased with her input. I received instructions on techniques in breathing which I hope will help my voice. Regarding my methods of instructing piano students, I use the Middle
C method for players regardless of playing level. Those who are more
advanced use triads as well. My overall goal as a teacher is to work
with my students and give them the skills that are necessary to play
music that they enjoy. Instructional materials include either Faber,
Bastien, and/or Alfred Publications. A writing tablet compliments
presented lesson material too.
My instruction correlates with the age, the musical background, and
the public/private school music curriculum of the student. Each

learning time for the student. It is important for the student to be
motivated by the material that they are given and to have a full
understanding of the concept(s) that were taught in the lesson. Above
all other reasons, it is most important for the student to enjoy
their piano lessons and want to come back the next week. ...

About Michael
Born and raised in New Jersey, I have been involved with music for many years. The instruments that I play include Trumpet, French Horn, Handbells, Organ, Voice, and Piano. I received my formal education at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, which is where I earned a B.A. degree with Honors in Music. In order to obtain my Honors, I chose to develop elementary lessons on Chinese folk music. In my Junior year of college, I performed a dual media recital in both Voice and Piano, and for my Senior year recital, I focused on giving a Vocal performance. These recitals demonstrated the musical talent and techniques that I had developed throughout my experience at college. In addition to my musical experiences in college, I have also learned about various pedagogical approaches through both my vocal studies as well as my studies on the keyb
oard. There is always more than one approach to teaching musical concepts! As a musician, I have performed in both the Bethlehem/Allentown area and the central New Jersery area. In addition, I have sung as a member of the Princeton Pro Musica and sat as a member on the executive board of the Princeton Girlchoir. These experiences have enhanced my professional insight as a musical instructor today. At present, I am a teacher in the classroom, an organist at a local Presbyterian church, and a private piano instructor. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy seeing my students grow and develop as musicians.

Michael is a great teacher. He focuses on understanding of concepts. For more fluent play we always need to practice a lot, but if we do not understand the concepts behind musical notation, we do not even know where to begin. He is also very encouraging and guides us out of mistakes in a way that the logic sticks. Highly recommended - you will enjoy learning with him

Lessons with Mike Mraz was a Christmas present from my son, Andrew. I enjoy singing, yet have never had occasion to study music or to take private lessons. Mike helped me clarify my goals: breath control, vocal mechanics, reading music and having fun. He graciously sent me some primer materials and located sheet music for several of my favorite Broadway show tunes. Our five 45-minute sessions together were both instructive and enjoyable. As I approach age 70, I can check "work with a voice coach" on my "Bucket List." Kudos for Mike!

About Jacquie
As a young child, Jacquie began to show interest in both piano and voice. Coming from a musical family tree, her father began teaching her beginner piano as well as vocal harmony through original children compositions. Around the age of 12, Jacquie began her training in classical voice. She is well versed in all styles from Opera to Pop and has the unique ability to train others to accomplish their musical goals. As a Coloratura Soprano she has starred in many productions and won prestigious vocal competitions throughout the USA and Europe. Jacquie is an accomplished Contemporary Songwriter and Recording Artist which has caught the eye of quit
e a few National Recording Companies. In the Summer of 2000 she toured throughout Tuscany, Italy as a featured soloist with SSMA with an Orchestral Ensemble. While in college she minored in Piano Performance and majored in Vocal Performance.

Jacquie began teaching at the age of 16 from her family's music store in beginner piano and voice where she learned the art of being an private instructor. From the moment I had my phone interview with Paul, I knew he was the right instructor for my son. We met for a trial lesson and sure enough he was exactly what we were looking for. My 12 yr. old has just excelerated in his music reading skills that I could not teach him on my own having started him on the keyboard myself since he was seven but was not successful. Paul is not afraid to stretch him and communicate to him in a way that he pleasantly receives along with weaving music history teaching continuously throughout the lesson. Right out of the gate his technique was addressed and the foundation was set up front and my son has an obvious, beautiful, step above, touch. Very grateful!

She taught me the correct posture and hand positions at the first lesson. I was struggeling with the hand positions first, but she didn't mind to explain them to me over and over again. She also plaid some tunes to me, and I could tell that she is an awsome harpist. I am very glad that I can learn from her. I have been teaching music for 28 years and have a tremendous amount of passion and enthusiasm. I am a classically trained flutist and pianist as well as music history and theory enthusiast. Lessons are customized to the individual and what goals each has for him/herself. I can train beginning flutists or advanced ones preparing for competitions or college auditions. Although I love classical piano, many of my students prefer learning from fake books or lead sheets so they can develop their skills to play in their own rock bands.

About Tania
I am a classical flutist and pianist who has been playing music for 40 years and teaching for 28 years. I am also an associate professor who lectures in music history and theory at a commercial arts college. I received a Master of Music in Classical Flute Performance from the University of the Arts in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from West Chester University in 1992. As a flutist, I have competed at the national level and performed in world-renowned venues at home and abroad, including Carnegie Hall and the Kimmel Center. As a pianist, I was first trained to use a fake book as a young child and then later trained classically as a piano minor in college. In December 2017, I became a lifetime member of Strathmore's Who's Who for Professionals.

I am highly motivated and highly motivating and have a knack for inspiring s
