I have been trying to master an instrument forever. By that i mean guitar or piano since age 12. In my first five lessons I have made more progress than in all those years. I admit that the demands of everyday life can get in the way of my goal of being a musician, but Keith has brought me so very far.His empathy and professionalism has helped me to begin to overcome performance anxiety. His support has been priceless!!

Lead / Rhythm Guitar:

I've developed a step-by-step approach to learning to solo and improvise.
Using simple, "guitarist-friendly” techniques you will quickly learn and begin to apply major/minor scales/modes, blues/pentatonic scales and “licks.” You will learn triads, arpeggios, interval studies, and extensions and how to use them to create interesting and melodic solos. With my line development/phrasing techniques, you will have your own library of “licks” that will help you navigate both simple and sophisticated harmonic progressions. I will help you to become a become a well-rounded, three-dimensional guitarist with a unique voice!

A few of techniques I teach:

∙ triads / arpeggios
∙ strumming
∙ alternate/sweep picking
∙ tremolo picking
∙ hybrid picking
∙ scales/modes
∙ slide guitar
∙ hammer on/pull off
∙ (up to 8 finger) tapping
∙ bending / double stops / unison bends
∙ whammy bar techniques
∙ diagonal scales,
∙ arpeggios & note groupings
∙ 3 and 4 finger per string scales
∙ fingerstyle
∙ Jazz scales, chords including
4 note open/closed voicing
7th, 9th, 11th, 13th chords
∙ chord melodies
∙ rhythm and grooves of various styles

Bass Guitar:

Right hand:
∙ finger style, pick
∙ slapping/popping
∙ groove, rhythms and playing time
∙ time signatures, walking bass lines,
∙ arpeggios, double stops,
∙ chords & improvising
∙ writing bass lines.

All of my students learn:

Sight reading (standard notation/tablature)
∙ music theory & ear training
∙ rhythm / timing (including reading rhythms)
∙ composition/songwriting

We will focus 1/2 of the lesson on repertoire and 1/2 the lesson on technique. Many of my students text/email me a few days prior to our scheduled lesson with a song selection for the week. I focus our lesson's technical study with the song in mind. It has proven to be very effective and makes the technique and theory are less "boring."

I have (7) guitars: including (4) electric, (2) acoustic/electric, & (3) electric bass
(2) tube guitar amplifiers, and various guitar effects pedals.

(1) full-size 88-key MIDI keyboard, and (1) Arturia MINILAB MIDI controller.

DAW recording software (Pro Tools 12.x, Logic 10.x, Ableton Live)
software synthesizers by Arturia, Fabfilter, Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, Steven Slate, Toontrack and more. I use plugin effects by Izotope, Fabfilter, Plugin Alliance and Universal Audio and Waves for many of my lessons and recording projects.

Travel Equipment
I can provide a guitar, videos, music recording, music workbooks and everything else a student may need. Students are only expected to bring a desire to learn. :)

Best Teacher I've had, she helps train your voice and goes through the vocal anatomy so you understand techniques such as proper breathing, posture, coordination, grounding, acting, diction...etc. I've been her student for about a year three years now and I have to say that my voice has improved so much as a performer all thanks to her! Through my methods of teaching a student could excel, learn, and become an accomplish musician at any age. I work within the age group that is, to teach in the level of that student in
stead of above them.I have help students to get into bands and become songwriters. I show students how to practice within 15 minutes and become productive in ideas and have fun in the process all ages could have fun. I am one of those individuals who love to teach music and my reward is when you learn and feel good about your studies in the instrument so my last words to conclude in all of this is “have fun and enjoy the beauty of music.”

I am emphatic about learning music I cover all the grounds in music such as theory the basics to harmony and my favorite songwriting and get you to play what you like
I have worked with all ages and the one thing I know in the beginning is to make that student feel comfortable and to get the attention from that student so they can learn, play, and most importantly have fun with it.
I show students time management in their studies how to practice in such a little time I plan each lesson and if the lesson is not right for that day I quickly go into a second plan. I can always detect if the plan does not go well because there is one thing a teacher must know and that is to teach in the level of the student and not beyond so they can succeed properly and move on to the next level.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Music and Piano Performance at The Juilliard School studying with legendary pedagogue and Chair of Piano Dr. Veda Kaplinsky. I've traveled the musical world and studied with several of the world's most sought after pianists, including Sergei Babayan, mentor of international piano star Daniil Trifonov, as one of eight students worldwide accepted to his final Babayan International Piano Academy. I've performed with the Seattle Symphony amongst other concerts with orchestras in Europe, and perform regularly as a soloist in the greater NYC area and Seattle at venues including Carnegie Hall. Since beginning my teaching career, I've looked forward to sharing my knowledge with young students in order to nurture their artistic talents and unique musical sense. Students will be able to perceive piano not only as a skill and genuinely enjoyable activity, but also as the most sincere and effective form of emotional expression and as a friend with ...

About Max
Most recently, I was selected as one of eight pianists worldwide across all age divisions to attend The Verbier Festival's Artist Training Program in Switzerland, summer of 2018. I was the only American pianist to receive the honor this year.

I am currently a second-year undergraduate student at The Juilliard School in New York City, where I study with the Susan W. Rose Chair of Piano Department, Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and Hung-Kuan Chen; my history with the institution dates back to Juilliard Pre-College, where I graduated as a Juilliard Scholarship recipient. In addition to my formal musical education in classical piano, I'm also a graduate of the Lakeside School in Seattle, a highly selective, college preparatory school offering a rigorous academic program; notable alumni include Bill Gates, Paul Allen and the McCaw brothers. I am w
ell-versed and fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

I am well accustomed to working with young children, adolescents and teenagers along with the elderly in retirement homes, and hope to nurture and instill in each of my students a genuine, individualized passion for music, along with imparting to each student all the knowledge I've attained over 15 years of musical experience off and on stage, playing at the world's most acclaimed venues and studying with some of the world's most sought after pedagogues. Furthermore, my goal is to accelerate the learning curve and to bestow all I know as quickly as possible, not wasting time on useless irrelevancies. I've taught many years privately in the greater Seattle area, as a private teacher at the Aspen Music Festival and as a private teacher serving the NYC area since 2015. My students have won regional and international competitions for young people, and have performed at prestigious venues such as Benaroya Hall, Alice Tully @ Lincoln Center, the Kauffman Center, Foundation LV in Paris, and Carnegie Hall.

He is a very promising Juilliard student.
His teaching reflects being educated by the world’s most sought after classical piano mentors.
What he teaches is unorthodox and complex in nature, but he teaches and demonstrates effectively in an easily comprehensive manner.
I believe that learning his skills will have a tremendous impact on my child’s future in both music and life.
I strongly recommend him to anyone who cannot be satisfied with other instructors.
PS: He works well to encourage and nurture youth, as my sons are 6 and 9 years old.

Max is my favorite private teacher I have ever had since I started learning piano couple years ago. He is a very talented and positive person who has been encouraging me to play the way I am. He believes the best way to be good at playing piano is to enjoy it and trust yourself that going for what you feel like it is about in the piece. Recently, we had tight lessons to prepare my coming aidition for Brookly College’s music program. I really appriciated all the help and support from Max. He is always making sure that he covers the lesson that he wants to go over with that day. I just passed my audition two days ago and got into the program I wanted to. I can’t thank him enough for all the guidence from his class. Max is a very good instrutor that coaches his students to have more passion and belifs in the music field. I love the way he teaches and really appreciated my boyfriend who helped me found such a great teacher!

Want your child to start getting into music and piano? My approach is that music lessons need to be fun! We will play games, jump, dance, and sing. Through all that, the students will learn piano, music theory, sight-reading, and ear training.

About Dor
Dor is an Israeli-born vocalist based in Brooklyn, New York. She began her music education at the age of five when she studied classical piano. During those years she had experimented with saxophone and guitar but soon realized that her voice is her most powerful instrument.

In 2009, she started taking classical voice lessons and joined the “Moran Singers Ensemble” (Israel). With them, she performed many high profile national and international events, and eventually managed the ensemble during her last year there. In 2014 Dor joined the prestigious “Gary Bertini Israeli Choir”, directed by Ronen Borshevsky, where she participated in several co-productions with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by legendary Zubin Metta.

In 2015 Dor moved to New York to continue her academic studies at The New school for Jazz and Contempor
ary Music, after receiving a sizeable scholarship from the school itself.

In 2016 she formed a vocal jazz quartet, a collaboration with Israeli composer Rami Bar-David.

Dor is also the leader of 'SAGE', a progressive-rock band, playing her original music.

Dor is extremely detail oriented - she will make sure that you learn about every little nuanced bit of your voice. For me personally, not only has she helped me improve my singing, but also she has helped me SPEAK better. Yes that's right - her vocal techniques has actually helped me a ton when I was interviewing for new jobs to sound more confident and composed. It's very rare that a teacher can help you learn something that is applicable beyond its original context, but Dor has done exactly that. Highly recommended!

If you want to learn your favorite songs or something catchy you have stuck in your head come to me! The main thing I find people enjoy that I do is that I can transcribe (when possible) almost any song you or your child wants to learn- whether it be from the radio, a movie, tv show, or even a video game. Especially for children this tends to keep learning fresh and interesting! Lessons will be a lot more casual and loose. If a student doesn't feel comfortable with teachers or being one on one we will probably get along great because I was that kid, and have worked with students who felt the same way. Pricing is flexible, and if the student is really interested and wants to do more. I dont mind providing extra time at no extra charge when possible.

About Paul
Hi, im not like most of the teachers on here. I took contemporary piano lessons for about 10 years before I quit and began learning on my own. I started playing everything I heard from tv, the radio, requests from friends- all by ear. When a neighbor came over one day, her 10year old son asked me to play a song from a game called Minecraft. Once I listened to it and started to play, he got very excited and she was surprised as he usually hated anything to do with learning the instrument. She asked me to teach him for the summer and that was the first experience I had doing so. Since then I have found other children, college students, and even adults who have enjoyed this approach during the beginning, and to spark continued interest in learning. I am by no means a professional but that is why I am very flexible with time and pricing. That
being said I am still proficiently trained and knowledgable upto an intermediate level of teaching, and am passionate about both piano and music. Feel free to ask me about any questions or concerns you may have at my cell phone. Id like to reiterate if you/your child is unsure about getting lessons, unmotivated, intimidated, or having issues with the expense of lessons generally definitely give me an opportunity to work with you.
