Trained at perfect pitch course at YAMAHA institute in Japan. Many competition experiences. A winner of Electric Piano Competition at YAMAHA Electric Piano Festival.

About Asuka
I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians.

I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Kitakantou Electric Piano Competition hosted by YAMAHA institute. Because of the intensive training, I have been accompanying my students' recitals and performance exams.

As much as I enjoyed playing piano, I discovered that I also love singing, so I started to take singing lessons and majored in vocal performance during my college days.

Since I have graduated, I have been performing opera professionally. My career highlights include roles as Cio-cio san(Madame Butterfly) with Snob Opera, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Fairy(Falstaff) with Sir B
ryn Terfel with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Liverpool, England, Dorinda(Orlando) with Cantanti Project, Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Opera Manhattan Studio, Frasquita (Carmen) with One World Symphony, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola) with Capitol Heights Opera, Alice (Le comte Ory) with West Side Opera Society, Adele (Die Fledermaus), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Myrrhine (Lysistrata) with Opera Avanti, Gilda (Rigoletto) with Académie Internationale d'Eté de Nice, and The First Spirit (Die Zauberflöte) with the Opera Company of Brooklyn.

My international credits include performances under the direction of Conductor Laurent Pillot at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Liverpool, England;the Académie Internationale d'Eté de Nice, France; the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program in Chianti,Italy; the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel where I was selected to sing for the Japanese Ambassador.

I made appearances as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Town Hall, and MOMA museum in New York City and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

As a versatile singer, I was presented as an aspiring opera singer on the website of Maybelline New York. Her voice was featured in short films for the Japanese technology company NEC. I appeared as a soprano soloist for the opera, Jazz and theater collaboration of "TAKE ABITE" by David Antonio Cruz. I also sings Broadway songs and continues her musical theater studies. She is an active recitalist and also performs Oratorio works.

I was also a finalist at the Opera Idol Competition at Lincoln Center in New York City, The Hariclea Darclée Voice Competition in Romania and the Mario Lanza and Elaine Malbin Vocal Competition in New York City. Ms. Uchida was selected as a vocal scholarship recipient at Savannah music festival.

My upcoming engagement includes singing the role of Gilda in Rigoletto and Oscar in Un ballo in maschera in 2018 in New York City.

Besides being an opera singer, I have been teaching piano and voice for 11 years. I would like to share my skills and experience with you. Since I perform often, I can coach you how to perform on stage in addition to building solid technique and languages. Also, I have taught various kinds of music, such as Rock, Broadway musicals, Pop music, so we can work on all kind of music.

I look forward to teaching you soon!

*** Lesson Details ***
My students can expect to improve their skills and start to enjoy music more as we work together.
I believe that learning music is fun and enjoyable. However you also need to be serious and focused.
I can demonstrate various and specific techniques, phrasing, and interpretation and will always coach on how to develop your skills. However, I feel it is important for students to think critically on their own and take the first try at solving a problem themselves. I cannot emphasize enough that primarily it is you who find the ways to improve. Leaning music is a collaboration between teachers and students. I hope that through my lessons, students will become more self-sufficient and confident as musicians.
Let me help you become a better musician.

I just signed up with Asuka a few weeks ago while she was traveling internationally for her performance. Because she was away, we did online lessons. At first I was skeptical because of the time difference and the quality etc. but she has very much experience not only teaching, but with online lessons. My son has an international singing competition coming up and Asuka is not only preparing him for the competition, but also for what expect from judges and how to mentally perceive the performance. Although she travels and maintains her successful career, she is able to put everyone ounce of her expertise into helping my son from where ever she is. When she came back to NYC she also worked personally with him as well. She is the best teacher and vocal coach we have had to date.

Because of a throat and larynx condition, I sought help with my voice. Dena was very thorough in explaining the vocal cords and breathing. This was my first experience with a professional voice instructor and I was very pleased with her input. I received instructions on techniques in breathing which I hope will help my voice. I am looking forward to my next lesson. Thank you.

Experienced teacher, musical director, composer, and accompanist (currently working at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts New Studio on Broadway). I believe that a slow detailed approach to learning anything is vital to its success. Many people will tell you that they can have you playing your favorite song in one lesson but what I offer instead of a "one hit wonder" is a foundation in technique, theory, and musicianship that allows my students to excel and surpass the "one hit wonder." All ages are welcome! I specialize in the beginner and intermediate student. Can't wait to begin this musical journey with you.

About Andrew
Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska I have played the piano since the age of 4. My parents used to tell me that I could stop and start whatever activities I wanted to whether that be playing baseball or participating in karate. The only thing I was not allowed to quit was playing the piano. At first I was not very good, I was not some musical prodigy, in fact some might say I was bad. I didn't like to practice, I just wanted to be able to play. Unfortunately that's not how learning an instrument works. It was not until middle school that I began to appreciate that my parents had made me play the piano because after 6 years I started to improve. This of course was because I started to enjoy what I was doing, and I started practicing more and more.

Eventually I made my way to becoming a singer and a composer but that's a whole other stor
y. I graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Musical Theater. While there I was exposed to all different genres and became a respected vocal coach amongst my peers and alumni. I also successfully music directed several shows both at NYU and a children's theater in upstate New York. It is a gift like no other to be able to play any instrument and I am overjoyed to share that gift with all of my students past, present, and future.

I've been playing the piano for a very long time. (Almost 27 years, to be exact!) I feel that the piano is an incredibly powerful instrument. Because the piano is a chordal instrument, you can literally use it to play any piece of music ever written, classical, jazz, pop, or anything else you can think of.
It is also one of the most relaxingly mindful and emotionally cathartic experiences to be able to play the piano!
You can play many different rhythms at the same time (since you have two hands, and ten fingers). Or you can play the most beautiful melody with one hand while the other hand keeps the beat. You can sit down and compose a piece, or you can accompany yourself while you sing. Or if you want to learn about music theory, the piano keys are a better visual representation of this than any other instrument. It's the easiest instrument with which you can learn to play by ear. The possibilities are truly endless.
For these reasons and many more, piano lessons should be ...

About Rebecca
I was trained at the Eastman School of Music in classical piano and voice, but have always had a love for pop music. After I was done with school, I moved back to NYC, joined an indie rock band called Ravens & Chimes, started writing and producing pop songs under the name Krystalmath (over 400,000 plays on Spotify), and began my teaching career. I usually start students in a classical style because it provides more structure, but also emphasize from early on pop and jazz-style improvisation and playing by ear.

I have seen which are the problems that most of the students struggle with and I also have seen a lot of teachers that don't help them in a good way.

So that's why I created lessons with an individual approach for each student, applying knowledge that I received from wonderful teachers I have had.

I come from a strict Russian method, but I found a way to balance this methods with the student itself, because everyone is unique.

About Alejandro
Hello! I'm from Venezuela, a country that has a lot of rhythms and music colors.

I started at the age of 6 and then formally at the age of 12 (a little bit late). I studied at the Simon Bolivar Conservatory in Caracas and then I moved to the US.

Here the mix of different cultures and music has created a deep impact on me, so I tend to create interesting programs for my students. Music that goes from J.S. Bach to Samuel Barber, or from Igor Stravinsky to Juan Vicente Lecuna.

I also have attend masterclasses of wonderful teachers such as Simone Dinnerstein, Yoheved Kaplinsky, András Schiff, Jerome Lowenthal and Hung Kuan Chen. Experiences that have been very enriching.

In Venezuela, I also studied venezuelan piano music with the pianist and composer Luisa Elena Paesano, and with pianist Guiomar Narváez. They impulsed me in a way that I
started to work with the contemporary composers that are still alive and that still create academic music inspired in Venezuelan rhythms and flavors.

It will be very exciting to share all these experiences with my future students!

Hi! I'm Nina, and even though I'm only 17, I've been playing the piano for over a decade and have been teaching since 2015. I have most experience with beginner and intermediate students at a preK-12 level. In my lessons, I prioritize the cultivation of creativity, musicianship, and artistry in lessons, so I tend to focus on teaching students the theory behind their pieces in addition to technique. My goal with each student is to help them become the musician they see themselves as in their mind's eye.

Students will receive free summary sheets that show of all the concepts they learned that day, as well as their practice material for the week.

I look forward to helping your child realize their full potential!

About Nina
Hi! I'm Nina, and even though I'm only seventeen, I've been playing the piano for over a decade and have been teaching since 2015. I began playing piano when I was just five years old, when my mother began working overtime as a maid to pay for the lessons. After we moved out to Texas, I began working as a piano teacher and accompanist for vocal competitions -- all before getting out of middle school.

Now that I've settled in Jersey, I've become the accompanist for my high school's choir, and have continued to teach lessons across Hudson County. In addition to being classically trained, I have cultivated my ear and improvisation skills so deeply that I can play any song in the world just by listening to it a few times.

This duality helps me tailor lessons to fit the individual goals of the student. Whether you want to learn the tra
ditional classical method, begin writing your own music, or just want to play your favorite pop tunes, I can help you become the musician you've always wished you could be. I have most experience with beginner and intermediate students at a K-12 level.

In each lesson, you will receive a free summary sheet that details of all the material covered during the lesson and enumerates the practice material for that week. I understand that it can be difficult to afford lessons, so I am very flexible in payment and am willing to work with your budget.

I look forward to helping you become a better musician!
