I have been playing piano since 1995 and formally teaching since 2010. I would love to share my passion with you!

I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of ear training, improvisation, and technique. I've studied many styles, classical, carnatic, latin, but specialize in jazz. I have 4 keyboards and a grand piano and enjoy playing together with students as an instructional tool.

Russian-born piano instructor with 17 years of experience teaching piano for kids and adults in the USA and Russia. 

The focus of my teaching strategy is to provide an effective and joyful learning through different tactics and techniques that unlock students' potential. My philosophy is to find the unique approach for each student and infuse the knowledge and skills to work independently. My students are encouraged to discover their power as musicians through the wide range of suggestions and tools that facilitate the creative process. The lesson plan is designed to integrate interconnections between music and other art related disciplines to nurture a versatile personality as well as to make music a passion of life.

I credit my first piano teacher for giving me the courage, technique, and love of music that has made me into the performer and teacher that I am today. This passion has led me to receive a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Michigan, and I recently received my Master’s degree in classical vocal performance at the Mannes School of Music. My goal now is to inspire my students with the same fundamentals and joy for music that my first teacher instilled in me.

Beginning students of all ages are welcome, and styles that I teach include classical and pop. Lessons will focus on technique, reading, ear training, and basic music theory. Everyone is unique and has their own learning style, and I tailor my teaching to each individual. I love to helping others understand music better, play the piano, and achieve their personal musical goals. It would be a pleasure to help you learn!

With over 25 years of teaching private piano lessons you can be assured you or your child will be receiving the "BEST" instruction possible. My teaching approach is traditional as I am classically trained. I teach All Levels to All Ages. (Special needs students are welcome). My youngest student is 4 years of age and my oldest is 95.

Once the student is able to read music I will find out what they love. They always practice what they love......some examples: Classical, Jazz, Blues, Broadway, Disney, New Age, (their own compositions) and learn to sing while they play. What could be better?

SHINING STARS

We have quarterly Zoom recitals where students will showcase what they have learned. There is no better time to start your first lesson than in the comfort of your own home. You will be playing a song at your first lesson! As a matter-of-fact that first lesson is FREE!

In English, Español ou Português! The piano classes are a very fun and practical way to learn and practice classical songs, as well as pop and Brazilian tunes! Can be based on playing by ear or reading sheet music and chords. Also, can includes some trainings on technique, creativity and composition, to start putting your ideas together to create your own songs or creating your own arrangement for composers you like!
