Jean-Pierre is a phenomenal piano teacher who really has a true passion for music. He is endlessly patient and persistent - If you want to learn something, he’ll find a way to teach it to you. It's rare to find such a skilled music teacher who can adapt from teaching the smallest fundamental details to the highest philosophical aspects of music. With Jean-Pierre, you are no longer just learning and playing the pieces, you are fully experiencing the music. My lessons with him, and his great sense of humour, were always a highlight. I cannot recommend him enough.

the Impact that Dr C. has had on me as both a musician and a person has been immeasurable. His patience and kindness coupled with his incredible skill have made him an incredible teacher and wonderful person to play alongside whenever he has accompanied me. His drive and desire to always better my playing have made him incredible to learn from and his calming presence has meant that performances with him have always been a pleasure. His personal and caring nature has also made him a wonderful mentor as well as a teacher and he has instilled both confidence within me whenever I play and above all, a deep love for the music that I am playing. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be half the musician I am today if not for Dr C. incredible input!

Jean-Pierre is truly a unique teacher. His highly personal, practical approach to the teaching of music makes the process of learning both enjoyable and fascinating. His passion for music is evident in his teaching, prioritizing the talents and interests of his students rather than imposing a conventional, one-dimensional syllabus. His skills as a pianist are unparalleled, and my experience playing the cello together with Jean-Pierre (as my accompanist) have been beneficial to my own sound and personality as a musician. Furthermore, as I myself have learnt to play an instrument largely through the use of Skype lessons, I can say with utmost confidence that working with Jean-Pierre through an online medium will both be a worthwhile and enriching experience. Jean-Pierre is by no means a traditional music teacher; rather he is a dedicated and passionate embodiment of what modern music teaching should be!

Hello everyone! My name is Serina Noelle Saputa! I am currently a freshman at the University of North Texas majoring in music composition and next semester, double majoring in piano performance! I have been teaching for almost a year now, and love every moment of teaching. I have been playing piano for eleven years, and also have three years of percussion. I also take voice lessons, and maybe in the future would love to learn violin! My other interests include ballet and any other type of dance. I believe what makes lessons with me as a teacher so unique, is that I can understand how nervous a child can be to perform. Growing up, I was very nervous to perform, compete, or audition for piano. I believe that to make a piece exquisete, a child must have confidence not only in their abilities, but within themself. Another strength I have is performing. Now as an adult, I love performing and believe that you must put everything into your music. I love seeing and helping my students find ...

I have taught piano since 2012. I prefer to take beginners, and I do especially well with younger students. I believe strongly in integrating music theory and ultimately moving students toward musical self-suffiency, rather than focusing exclusively on learning particular pieces.

Fantastic, patient and kind ukelele instructor. I recommend Ben without reservation.
Thanks Ben!
Kamal
Ben has been instructing my 2 kids (now aged 11 and 9) in-home for at least 5 years. We started off with piano for the first few years but then switched to a combination of piano and acoustic guitar (half a session dedicated to each instrument).

He is patient, kind, and highly knowledgeable. I clearly see the upward trajectory in my kids' musical capabilities. One of my kids can be difficult to deal with, especially when he is tired, but Ben would mold his approach to the lesson on the spot to keep my kid engaged (e.g., instead of continuing the lesson on the actual piano, he'd switch to a fun music-oriented game).
Lauren
I hadn't played a musical instrument since elementary school when I started Ukulele lessons with Ben. Ben started from the beginning, answered all my questions along the way, and built upon that information in each lesson. It wasn't in a didactic way, but in a way that was really customized to fit my Ukulele lesson goals. Ben's teaching style is very flexible also. I had some Ukulele lesson books I had been gifted and we worked from those. I didn't feel that I had to buy a bunch of additional equipment, books, etc.

I recommend Ben as a music teacher. He is understanding, encouraging, and inspirational. I am looking forward to continuing lessons with Ben and JC Instrumental.

I wish there was a 'very good' star. I feel Susannah is better than good and will be excellent with more experience. She is very kind and professional. 5 Reasons Why Hanon Exercises are Useless

Are Hanon exercises really effective at teaching piano students? Below, piano teacher James F. shares five reasons why he believes Hanon exercises aren't as useful as many think... A lot of piano teachers swear by the old familiar Hanon exercises as a great way of teaching technique to their students. I strongly disagree. I’m familiar with a lot of different ways of developing piano technique, and I think that Hanon is among the least efficient. Why? Below I’ve provided fiv …
