Having taught piano lessons for over 20 years, I enjoy working with everyone, beginner to advanced, young, and the young at heart. Depending on the student, I will choose from a number of different methods, (Alfred, Hanon, Bastien, Hal Leonard, and more,) to find the best match for each individual student. Are you an intermediate or advanced pianist that wants to learn how to improvise, play with a band, use a chart, and compose your own music, etc? Creative conceptual learning will help to use the skills you already have and to apply new techniques to make you a more versatile musician. It's never too late to start!

About Tiffini
I offer a fun, interactive teaching style that encompasses more than 20 years of performing and 15 years of teaching experience. As a performer I have worked as a professional singer, actor, musician, and dancer. I have always had a passion for teaching, directing, and composing. While my love for performing has lessened over the years, I have found my true calling: teaching, directing, and helping others to find their passion for music and the performing arts.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a special emphasis in music, theatre, dance, and psychology. I am a graduate candidate working on completing my thesis as my final requirement for a Masters of Arts degree in Music at San Diego State University.
Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), California Association of Profession
al Music Teachers (CAPMT), and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

In our lessons, beginning students will learn to read music, play their favorite pieces, how to do warm ups and learn basic skills. I use sheet music and introductory books in my classes and assign homework for their daily practice. After 3 months, each student will move to the next level and continue learning more advanced skills. More advanced students will learn how to understand and compose music, put expression into the pieces they play and improve their current skills.

About lena
I have been playing piano since I was a young child and have always had a passion for music. I apprenticed in China under a master piano teacher for 15 years and then immediately started performing in many different venues. 18 years ago, I started teaching piano and have enjoyed sharing my love of music with others. I am very patient with students and am very open to the type of music they would like to play. From pop music to classical, beginning to advanced, I am well versed. If there is a specific piece you want to play, I can fit it to your level. In my lessons, I try to make each experience meaningful and joyful.
I am also available giving personalized lessons online nationwide. Looking forward to meeting you and sharing the joy of music in person and online.

Hello future piano students -- welcome!!

Piano is a great starter instrument and you will always sound great on it! Classes begin with introduction to proper hand positions, posture, and placement. Note reading along with proper technique is emphasized. We gradually introduce both hands as we gain more confidence and facility in note-reading.

Basic harmony and theory is also discussed while exploring various styles such as classical, pop, rock, and jazz.

About Nicolas
Hello there, future string players and welcome to my profile!!

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in Miami, FL. I started my musical career at the age of 8, singing in chorus, playing the recorder, and shortly afterwards moving to the guitar, and the violin.

When I was 15, I was nominated for a James L. Knight Award in Music, and I performed as a violin soloist with the Miami Beach Symphony Orchestra, and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony playing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major. One of my most memorable experiences when I was a kid! In high school, I formed my own string quartet and we would perform all over the South Florida community especially at hospitals and for the elderly. At 16 years old, I was also given an internship with the New World Symphony, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, for about 2
years. During this time, I was able to take lessons from master violinists such as Marc Thayer and Glen Cherry. During this time, I was given the opportunity to perform with the New World Symphony at 17 years old for pops concert conducted and performed by Chuck Mangione in El Doral, FL.

I later on accepted a scholarship for violin performance at the University of Miami for my Bachelor of Music, and earned my Master of Music from Florida State University. I also taught string orchestras for 10 years at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, South Florida Youth Symphony as conductor (and now composer!), and conductor of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. I was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Alhambra Orchestra for two seasons under the guidance of my high school orchestra teacher, Mr. Reginald Nicholson (1947-2011). It was here where I was able to work on my compositions, orchestrations, and conduct a fine group of musicians.

I now live in sunny Los Angeles, in the Sherman Oaks area, and I'm loving the new change. I am eager to share my knowledge with new students on various subjects such as learning a string instrument to learning a different language. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your goals for learning!

LESSON DETAILS
I have been teaching music as an adult, certified teacher since I was in college, but have done teaching as early as 15 years old.

I will help you create a fantastic technical base so you will be able to play with ease as your skill level develops, all while keeping the lessons fun and engaging.

MUSIC STUDIO
Piano, Violin, Guitar, Music Stand, General Teaching Aids, Recording Equipment.

TRAVEL EQUIPMENT
I can provide a music stand and basic materials but the student is expected to have their own instruments and to buy the music I recommend. I can recommend various vendors/shops where you can buy the ideal instrument for your lessons.

EXPERTISE
I am classically-trained musician that also specializes in Tango performance, Latin/Jazz, Rock, and a variety of other styles. I believe that training in the classical aesthetic will create a firm, solid foundation to crossover into other areas listed above. With a good dose of technical exercises, scales, and a variety of repertoire, my students always turn out well-rounded, ready to tackle almost any kind of music they wish to learn.

Thank you for stopping by and let me know what you would like to learn!

Nick is really a great violin teacher. Our son was playing violin in school orchestra, but we decided to also supplement with private lessons and we're glad we found Nick on here. We have been coming to Nick's home studio for about a year now. Nick keeps our son engaged and continually interested in practicing during his lessons. He's patient, sometimes funny when our son needs a laugh, and ensures our son stays on task, as he can be a handful sometimes. We would whole-heartedly recommend Nick as a violin teacher.

Instructions are conducted by using custom curriculum for every student. The curriculum is based on student's desires and abilities. Teaching material is combined from several books that include American and European authors

About Peter
I am energetic, experienced and creative music teacher with a proven ability to get the very best out of pupils, an expert at identifying the appropriate resources required for a subject matter and ensuring that they are used efficiently and effectively Most of my students read and play simple music after 2-3 classes of active instruction.

I posses an extensive classical music and music pedagogy training. All my musical knowledge and expertise was attained in Eastern Europe. I play and teach piano, upright bass, bass guitar and a range of other instruments. Over the years I taught basic piano, the beginner violin, viola, cello and a variety of school instruments such as recorder and xylophone. I also teach advanced music theory, harmony and basics of composition and orchestral arranging required for music colleges. I especially
find it rewarding working with beginners and the opportunity to show them the amazing world of listening, playing and making music.

The teaching begins with identifying student's musical needs, goals and tastes. Students are taught a stimulating, thorough, and graduated course of recital solos, theory, technical studies, and classic repertoire. For those wishing to pursue more of a classical approach to music, there are proven methods to accomplish that goal established by European master teachers and pedagogues. Also, I can teach the know-how of Jazz and Blues though gradual lessons that cover basic theory, scales and chords up to melody and harmony development.

*** Lesson Details ***
The learning process should be, for the most part, fun and based upon a strong relationship between the teacher and the student. Curriculum and lesson plans are based on student's abilities and aspirations with appropriate balance between theoretical and practical work. The lesson material is always carefully chosen, and when necessary, adapted to specific learning needs.

With a proper approach, everyone can learn to play music. Whether you want to pursue a music career, or just play for fun and enjoyment I can help you attain your goals. From basic piano and stringed instruments, to advanced theory, harmony, composition and improvisation to jazz, pop and rock.

Classes are not based on a single source or book. I provide other exercises in printed form for students to keep and take home.

Peter got right down to business and it is clear he knows what he is doing. My son is 5 and Peter kept his attention for the full 30 minutes, which is really saying something. At the end of the first lesson, my son was introduced to and could repeat note names; could play a five-note scale; and was learning his right hand from his left. I myself went to Juilliard and Yale for music and am so pleased Peter will be teaching our child(ren).

I love teaching students how to play the piano. I enjoy helping them achieve their specific goals. I am all about increasing my students' musicality to the fullest potential. I can help them learn the skill of sight-reading (Imagine knowing how to immediately play a piece of music that you have never seen before!) I can also teach them how to play by ear/improvise
(Wouldn't it be nice to be able to successfully play a song from your brain on your first try?) I'd love to teach you how to play.

About Kevin
Hello! My name is Kevin, and I am looking forward to teaching you everything I know about music! I've been singing at Walt Disney World for over 23 years (and I still am currently) with the Voices of Liberty, the Dapper Dans of Main Street, and Four For A Dollar. I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Penn State University. Even more than singing, playing the guitar, arranging for a cappella, and playing piano, I love to teach! Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I've wanted to be a teacher of music in various capacities. My favorite aspect of teaching several private students each week is that every individual student has a different story: What is it that you want to accomplish? Would you like to sing, play piano, or play guitar? Would you like training in music theory? Do you want to eventually have a career in m
usic? Will this be a hobby for you? Whatever your goals are, I am excited to know your story.

I have extensive piano teaching experience, working with beginning students new to the instrument, those who have prior experience, and with numerous vocalists wanting to gain practical accompanying skills. With my students, I love breaking down big goals into small achievable ones, and I love seeing those break-through moments time and time again as we work together.

For beginning students, I supplement book series with engaging games, phone apps, composition exercises and pop songs to keep them engaged.

I love fostering a love of music through the piano!

About Christine
A native of Seattle, Christine began her musical studies as a classically-trained trumpet player, receiving her Bachelor's in Trumpet Performance from Indiana University. Moving to Chicago and collaborating with jazz colleagues led her to pursuing a master’s degree in vocal jazz. She was accepted into one of the nation’s leading jazz institutions, the University of North Texas. There she focused on her new passion for singing, honing her skills in piano, songwriting, arranging, and improvisation.

When she isn't performing, Christine has enjoyed teaching piano, voice, trumpet, and theory to students of all ages at such academies as Dallas School of Music, Frisco School of Music, and most recently, Piano Power, based in Chicago. Her greatest passion is helping students find their personal connection to music, and helping them develop the
technique and skills for self-expression. Whether through teaching self-accompanying, facilitating original composition, arranging music, or using existing songs, Christine leads her students to their goals in practical, attainable ways, by instilling creative and effective practice habits.

Christine specializes in contemporary vocal styles - jazz, pop, R&B and singer-songwriter, country and contemporary worship music and uses her extensive experience to teach technique, artistry and lyric interpretation in these styles.

--- To-The-Point Bio ---

With 15+ years of experience, I am a learner-centered educator and Artist-Teacher-Scholar with a genuine interest in student engagement and cognitive growth. In our lessons, I strive to create motivating and rewarding learning environments through effective communication, a keen sense of student needs, and passion for teaching. Teachers are only as great as their students, which is why I encourage self-driven learning through example.

--- Lengthy Bio ---

Breanna Ellison, lauded for performances "flawless in execution and vivid in characterization" (Boston Musical Intelligencer), is a dynamic and highly sought-after horn player throughout the Midwest and East Coast. Breanna has played with numerous groups throughout the US, including Boston's conductorless chamber orchestra A Far Cry, the Kansas City Sy
mphony Orchestra, the Ad Astra Festival Orchestral, Michael Tilson Thomas's New World Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Radius Ensemble, the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, and currently plays in the Hays Symphony Orchestra, among others. Recently, she served as principal horn with the Geneva Light Opera in their production of Così Fan Tutte, acted as section coach and chaperone in the Boston Youth Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2015 European Tour, and this summer served on faculty at the High Plains Music Camp as a collaborative pianist and hornist.

Equally at home in symphonic, opera, and chamber music worlds alike, Breanna has performed in music festivals across Europe and the United States. In 2011, she served as principal horn at the Eutiner Opernfestspiele in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She attended the Colorado College Music Festival in summer 2012, and later that summer attended the Ameropa Chamber Music Festival in Prague, Czech Republic. While in Prague, Breanna performed with an international chamber group that took second place in Ameropa's International Concertante Competition. The quartet performed Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante K295b in the Czech Philharmonic's Rudolfinum, Dvořák Hall with Camerata Filarmonica Bohemia. In the summer of 2015, by invitation, Breanna studied with world-renowned hornist and pedagogue Frøydis Ree Wekre in Oslo, Norway.

Holding performance degrees in both horn and piano from the University of Kansas, Breanna attended the Cortona Sessions for New Music in Cortona, Italy as a pianist in 2010. There, she met kindred spirits amongst the composers attending and later that year, invited them to Kansas to hear their commissions performed by her brass quintet, the Lawrence 5. The concert served as both premieres of their works and as a benefit concert to aid in the building of schools for girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan through the Central Asia Institute. While at the University of Kansas, Breanna was a recipient of the Zakoura Collaborative Pianist Scholarship. Much of her pianistic time was spent collaborating with instrumentalists and vocalists from all realms, often in premieres of new works by colleagues in composition. Regarding hornistic studies while studying at KU, she was assistant then fourth horn of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, the first job she won at age 20.

Breanna graduated with honors from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA under full Presidential and Merit scholarship with her master's degree in horn performance, studying with James Sommerville, principal horn of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. During her time there, she also earned her Music-In-Education Concentration under the guidance of movement-founder Larry Scripp. She received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Kansas School of Music in horn performance, studying with Paul Stevens, and piano performance, studying with Jack Winerock. Breanna is currently Interim Professor of Horn at Fort Hays State University and continues to be a collaborative pianist at the University and throughout the state of Kansas. When not pursuing musical endeavors, she enjoys creating raw desserts, planning her worldwide backpacking trip, and learning mad, Balkan rips to busk with on accordion.

About Katie
I love to inspire students to practice, that is where the real magic happens. I love to see them not only set goals for themselves but reach them. I am willing to do whatever it takes to see them succeed. I love working with people and encouraging them. I have been a horn player since August 2007. I am studying french horn at Grand Valley State University but am also efficient in euphonium, piano, music theory, aural (reading rhythms and reciting them aloud), and trumpet. I have been in marching band for 6 years on mellophone so I can also help with teaching marching techniques and mellophone playing since it is very different from french horn.

I love teaching others to play piano. I combine traditional teaching from Italian piano school with creative learning methods. I connect with each student in a way that best fits their learning style, personality, choice of music, and time available for practice. I teach classical and whatever type of music students are interested in. I use method and technique books, supplementary materials and I also let the student choose music they like.
I teach encouraging students because I believe that this helps students to learn and build confidence in themselves.

Lessons can be adapted to fit a student's goals or interests.

About Ivana
