My piano lessons are backed by 10+ ears of teaching experience with  students ranging in age from 5 to adult. I design each lesson according to my students’ abilities, and make the necessary changes once I become more familiar with their needs.

My goal is to establish long lasting knowledge, help students with practice strategies and keeping them engaged in the process. Each class includes practical and theoretical instruction, scale and pattern exercises that are very important for the students  fine motor skills and intellectual development.

and YES all of this is in a stress free and fun environment!!! 

I teach jazz piano from learning jazz chords to improvising in addition to classical piano.

Strong instrumental playing begins with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of music and the simple act of making a sound from the instrument. Students learn to play music by ear first, and are later introduced to music notation. More advanced lessons emphasize sight-reading, expression, and improvisation.

Thomas has studied piano for 15 years, and continues to play regularly. His education has included courses specifically on musical instruction methodologies, and he has been trained as a pianist at the collegiate level.

I've been playing piano for 27 years.

I can teach anything on piano, however my expertise is more in the rock and roll / live music realm, and not the classical piano realm. I was trained with classical piano technique, and I took it to the stage.

In a half hour or hour, I will focus on the positive and aspects of your playing that need improvement, with an enthusiasm that will develop your love of the instrument as much as your technical ability. This isn't to say technique will be neglected; all my students will be required to play scales and other exercises, which will probably take about 20% of the lesson time.

I hold a degree in Music Education and specialize in teaching children piano lessons. I have over ten years teaching experience and also teach voice and guitar. I believe learning music should be a fun and rewarding experience and it brings me great joy to share my passion with my students. I teach the fundamentals of note reading, music theory, ear training, sight reading, and technique. I create a safe environment where students feel able to open up and express their emotions through music and have fun doing it!
