I encourage students to find the sounds they like and really connect with and work backwards from there to teach them the fundamentals they will need to fall more in love with the music they create. I'm a firm believer that the music you create is an extension of yourself, so learning the basics should be fun and encouraging for the student to want to dive deeper on their own. With my lessons we will discover what works for you and design a personalized lesson plan to get you on your way to flowing with music.

About Kevin

I grew up learning the piano, guitar, and other instruments throughout my childhood. Now I've taken my focus and put it into playing live electronic music in a band. After college, and working for a couple years, I bought an RV, remodeled it, and traveled around making music for 2 years. Now I

This was my daughter's first singing lesson. Melody was very accommodating with my wife and I observing our daughter. With a musical background myself, I immediately knew that Melody had immense knowledge not only about singing, but also the theory and technique that all singers should learn.

My daughter is now 16 years old and has been under Ms. Melody's tutelage for a year now. There are good times and bad, and I am thankful that Ms. Melody did not give up. My daughter will encounter lots of hardships throughout her life, and as a mother, I cannot do all the teachings myself. It is always good to know when you have a caring teacher whom you can trust and know what they are doing both in music and life. I like that Ms. Melody can be lenient, and firm when needed. My daughter has joined her recitals, music playdates, and couldn't be happier. I can't recommend Ms. Melody high enough.
Micala S.
My daughters, 8 and 6, took lessons as beginners from Melody for 10 months before we had to move. SHE IS AMAZING! Not only did she make the lessons fun and engaging, but they learned so much in that short time. I grew up playing piano, violin and French horn and I was very impressed with her approach/methodology and how much of herself she put into her teaching. For the last 3 months we were with Melody, the girls also took voice lessons. The highlight of our spring was watching the girls perform at the recital Melody had so painstakingly organized. It was astounding how much they had progressed musically and my husband and I were in awe at how well they performed in front of people. We were also impressed at the wide range of experience in the students Melody taught. Some had played for years and were clearly continuing to blossom under Melody's tutelage, while others were beginners like our daughters. Melody was always positive, encouraging and extremely patient (even when my six year old had clearly not practiced for a week straight or was tired and whiny). My daughters and I miss her dearly as our mentor and now our friend! We cannot recommend her highly enough.

Hear me out- The piano may be the easiest instrument to play physically and one of the hardest to play mentally.

Easy to play physically:
With the piano, just hit a key to make a sound come out. Thats it. No fighting with the reed on a saxophone, killin' your cheeks on a trumpet, or building calluses on the guitar.

Hard to play mentally:
Almost all other instruments require both hands to create sound. Strings require one hand to choose a note on a string while the other hand plucks or bows it and all wind instruments require both hands to pick a note while your breath plays it. We already know to play the piano you just hit a button... this means each hand can hit a button. You can now make two sounds at once, independently from each other. It's like playing two instruments at once.

This lets us start simple because its easy to play, but allows us to grow in so many topics because of the pianos "harmonic depth." Try learning chords and theory on a horn instrument which ...

"My son has been playing piano for 9 years but he hit a wall with ISSMA state silver in piano solo last year, so our goal is achieve piano solo state gold this year. We made the switch to Ardalan didn't know what to expect just 2 months before ISSMA events and my son has earned ISSMA state distinction gold medal this year with Ardalan's help and hard working.

Ardalan's teaching method is eye opening to us after many piano teachers we have experienced in the past. He has been teaching my son many technical piano playing skills he desperately needs but no other teachers have ever taught him before. And Ardalan's performance preparation tips are so helpful for my son to perform in the real event."
