I teach piano in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play a certain style like Funk, or Blues, or how to approach a classical sonata. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

I am in my 50's and stated lessons just a few months ago - but I am playing songs and thoroughly enjoying every note along the way to achieving my goals.
I would highly recommend Howard as a teacher of piano and also of learning how to learn."

We moved from Los Angeles so we chose to transition from lessons in Howard's house to weekly lessons online - it continues to work beautifully.
Howard can accommodate any style of student - I know because I took lessons from Howard myself until my work built up too much to continue.
I recommend Howard without any reservation."
