Have you ever hoped to learn piano but didn't know where to start? Whether you (or your child) want to learn classical, jazz, pop, gospel or rock, I have experience performing and teaching many different styles of keyboard and piano. I've taught piano for about 8 years to ages ranging from 4 to over 60! It's never too late to start.

I have a master's degree from UT in jazz piano and a bachelor's in classical piano from James Madison University. I've played in a wide variety of bands and ensembles, ranging from pop cover bands to reggae groups, jazz trios and classical ensembles. In addition, I have more than eight years of experience teaching piano to students of all ages, young to old. Whatever style you're hoping to pick, I can help you learn and understand the music you play so that you can really connect with the music.

We will work on whatever style the student will like to learn! If they are a beginner, we will go through all of the basics slowly and very thoroughly. I like to start by having my students get familiar with the piano and exploring all of the sounds it can make. Students will learn how to identify notes on the piano and also through reading music.
