Experienced teacher specializing in the beginner/intermediate piano student! All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of note reading, music theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, and more. Let's get started building your musical future!
About Thomas
I am an energetic, enthusiastic teacher who cares deeply about the student's musical learning experience.
My music studies began in Louisville with well-regarded teachers John Roy (drumset) and Rick Mattingly (percussion). I later studied music at Bellarmine College and the University of Louisville School of Music. As a professional musician I have shared the bandstand with countless masters of jazz, rock and blues. A partial list includes legend jazz guitarist Jimmy Raney, vocalist Helen Hume (sang with Count Basie), local guitar legend Jeff Sherman, rhythm and blues group Backstreets, and many more. I currently play weekend nights at Volare Restaurant with multi-style group Jazz Vineyard. I do individual dates with Jazzcrafters, regularly record at two local studios, and Sundays I play in a Christian rock group
My hope is that my passion for music, experience, enthusiasm, and caring attitude will be a winning combination for my students.
*** Lesson Details ***
You can expect a teacher who is dedicated to helping the student realize his or her potential. My preference is to combine music reading, technique, and real-world playing experience; encouraging progress, but working at the student's pace. Reading music is important to the music student--since it is the language all of us musicians use. Some students may not care to read, and that is okay. We can work on technique and specific drum styles and patterns. All students are welcome to bring their music preferences to our lessons but I will usually attempt to expand the student's repertoire.
Lesson materials include: method books covering reading, styles, technique; specific songs suggested by either student or teacher; and materials written by the teacher.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in nice office studio which is located on the first floor of our Highlands home. Full keyboard available for the piano lessons.
*** Travel Equipment ***
The student will need to have his/her instrument.
I will provide music samples and method books or list of books the student should buy.
Drum set, drums pads, and/or electronic drum set, xylophone, and percussion instruments supplied in teacher's studio.
*** Specialties ***
My strongest genres include jazz, jazz rock, latin jazz, rock, blues, and country but I teach others as well. I help the student build on the basics, creating a strong foundation, and then we branch out... .

Tom is an excellent drum instructor. He makes lessons fun but also covers the important material. He has a lot of experience in multiple styles and is able to share that with the student.

I coach beginner piano for students of any age! The method book will depend on the age, and skill level.
You will learn technique, to read music, perform solos, and much more. You will need to have your own piano or keyboard at home to practice. All students are encouraged to perform in my recitals, which are held twice a year!
Lessons are held in my home studio on the Westside of El Paso.
About Souaad
Hello there, curious musician to be!
Over the past few years I've developed the most beautiful relationships with my students, and their families. I've helped complete beginners gain enough skills, and confidence to perform in recitals in front of over 50 guests! If you're interested in performing, I host 2 recitals a year, and they're a huge hit!
Many of my students have auditioned, and been accepted into theater companies, and orchestras. Whether you are just starting out, or are looking to improve on your skills, this is the studio for you.
I started playing violin when I was 10 and have performed with several Honors Orchestras, mariachis, as well as professional groups. My Junior and Senior year of high school I was honored to be Concertmaster.

Experienced piano teacher of 7 years! My lesson plan is simple : 1. we warm up with basic scales + finger exercises, 2. we focus on tone + proper technique, and 3. we play a variety of solo pieces, duets, and ensemble music (I prepare backing tracks to help w/ rhythm and timing... or play the parts myself).
The time devoted to each portion of the lesson is totally adjustable. You will learn what you want to learn at your own pace.

Whether you desire traditional piano lessons, or a more simplified, progressive method tailored just for your specific needs, we can get you to the place you want to be!
I teach a simple, and broken down system of music theory and piano that is ideal for the vocalist, songwriter, and beginner or intermediate pianist to quickly grasp and apply to their practice! It is the perfect method for the vocalists/ songwriters to be able to accompany themselves using basic piano chords within the first few lessons!
If desired, I teach traditional piano lessons out of the Alfred's books for children and adults, which are wonderful tools to help cover all grounds of sight-reading, technique, scales, repertoire, and music theory. Incorporating tried and true tools like flash cards are also essential in helping students quickly and wholly memorize notes of piano along with correlating position on staff (sheet music.)
Note: Most often, I teach a combination of the two methods, and ...

I teach students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical piano skills. I typically use Bastien books, and also incorporate sheet music. My lessons are challenging, and fun!
About Tammy
I’m good at forming strong personal connections, and my desire is for students to enjoy and excel at playing the piano. I've been teaching private lessons out of my home and at a local music shop, and have loved helping my students learn to play and read music, prepare for recitals, and prepare for solos and accompaniment at their schools and churches. I’m patient, encouraging, and like to see students really understand music and grow in their ability to play. My lessons are challenging, but fun. I like students to choose some of their own music and participate in choosing their direction and pace. I find that playing songs they know and like helps to facilitate at home practice and faster learning, as students enjoy their practice time! I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

You see, Colombia is divided by great mountains, deserts, rivers and jungles, it has built several fissures between towns and cities, making it diverse and colorful, just like my career in music. Since there isn't anything static about Colombia, I had played a vast amount of genres, including: Jazz, R&B, pop, salsa (tropical music in general), colombian folk music, as a producer made trap, hip hop and even reggaeton beats.
I've been playing the piano for around 10 years, also played electric bass as a kid, learned to play a little bit of drums here in Boston many years ago and I'm a
