So I signed up for lessons with Steve. I took piano lessons from Steve for about 18 months. I moved about an hour away, so it was not practical to continue with him.
The lessons from Steve were exactly what I was looking for. He figured out my skill level and set up a plan for me. He stressed the fundamentals while teaching a song at the same time. Being able to play a song, even a simple one, was a great reward. Then we progressed to develop more skills and more interesting songs.
Steve is patient, attentive and a good coach. He genuinely loves teaching and finds that “spark” in to build on. I saw this many times as I would listen to him teaching the student before me.
Steve is a great teacher and I strongly recommend him.

With 10 years of teaching experience, and a Master of Music in Piano Performance, my students can expect a refined pedagogical approach designed to teach them conservatory-level core competencies every musician should know up to advanced techniques.
In our first lesson, we will carefully map a trajectory that will get you to your goals. The way my approach differs from many teachers is I don't approach every student with the same methodology, but instead rely on your interests to build a methodology together.
This will usually include: piano literature ranging from classical to modern genres, composition, music theory, ear training, sight reading, transposition, improvisation, accompanying techniques, and other skills depending on what my student needs. Students who enroll come from all walks of life. Some are hobbyists; some are children; some are working professionals, and some are seasoned musicians looking to better their craft.
About Benjamin
I never feel there isn't more to learn when you start music. I am constantly looking for a higher artistic level, and that is what I encourage in all my students. The work is never done. I welcome you to an adventure of a lifetime in music. My goal is to give all my students the independence they n

Tanisha is a great music teacher. She is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and motivating. She adjusted my lessons to fit my skills and I've seen vast improvement in my piano playing and singing. Highly recommend Tanisha for a music teacher."

I have lessons with several teachers before and I would say Troy is one of the best teacher I have ever had. With him, I have gained much more knowledge on music, and made great progress on music reading, analysis, and piano practise techniques. I always like music, and he makes me like it even more :)."

As you're learning how to read music on the piano, you'll come across a lot of different words and terms that will seem like a foreign language. And that's because... they are! Most sheet music terms you'll see are Italian, or have Italian roots, while others are taken from French, German, Latin, or Spanish. But don't worry -- you don't need to learn how to speak Italian fluently to be a good piano player. There are many piano terms and symbols, but the 14 listed in the infographic below are …
