I use many different methods to teach note reading, good technique and performance proficiency. I also customize lessons to help individuals reach their goals such as learning to play with a jazz band, play for a church or to play favorite hits. And of course I teach students how to excel in the classics.

I teach all ages above 7 years old. Students will learn to play with a metronome, to read music, memorize scales, play with proper technique, play patterns by ear, and even write their own songs! Students get to pick from a variety of games to end the lesson with. Adults will add various listening and theory exercises. I hold a spring concert every year!
About Mary
I started playing saxophone in 1994. It was an immediate passion! As the years went on my thirst for music grew and I picked up more instruments. No matter which instrument I play the passion is the same. I like to write and arrange as well so I feel an extreme importance on music theory. I am clas

Unfortunately, I had to cancel the rest of my lessons with Mary because I was becoming too busy with work to stay committed to my lessons and practice. If I ever take lessons again I'll definitely sign up with Mary again, zero complaints.

For beginning piano students, I use Marilyn Lowe's Music Moves for Piano series. If a student already has purchased piano books or has piano books from an older sibling, I would not ask the student to purchase more books until we had used what they already had to its full capacity. For adults and older beginners, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
About Ceste
I'm a passionate, motivated instructor who loves working with students of all ages. In 2003, I graduated from Bryan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with a vocal emphasis and in 2011, I graduated from James Madison University with a Masters of Arts degree in Music Educat

She practices using the Alexander Method. Her expertise in how the body affects the voice actually gave me a ton of useful information to successfully identify the cause of some chronic health/pain issues (although she never offers medical advice, I was able to integrate her feedback about what was affecting the quality of my voice into medical care with my Drs).
Thanks Ceste!

Although many miles apart, Kelvin has fostered a productive, professional relationship with both me and my 8 year old daughter. His ability to connect with her via Skype is a testament to his experience and good-nature. Kelvin praises her smallest achievements at every lesson and encourages her to excel. He teaches her to think beyond the notes on the page and takes every opportunity to make learning an instrument relevant to the real world. Each lesson is fun and upbeat. He is committed to her success and we are very lucky to have such a dedicated teacher."
