I believe everyone can lean to play the piano! I’m using the blended method of teaching the piano, using Suzuki, ABRSM, and Bastien music literature. In my teaching philosophy, I always teach students to understand the music better throughout the historical concepts. To let them enhance their understanding of the connection between music and life. I also stress that to be a good musician or artist, you have to learn how to be a good human being first. Because, people’s personality or character could reflect in their music as always. 1. To train the basic fundamental techniques 2. To learn the different style of the music throughout Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern music. 3. To train the performance mode 4. To learn how to "practice"

My 4.5 year old daughter had her first piano lesson with Jingci. I had learned how to play piano when I was a kid, so I could tell Jingci knows how to teach the basic foundation very well. She's firm yet patient and got my daughter to follow her instructions even though her attention span isn't that great at her age.

Learning music should be fun and exciting. Therefore, I cater my lessons to each individual student's needs and abilities. I primarily teach pop/modern piano, however I can teach classical as well. My lessons begin with the student picking out two or three songs they have always wanted to learn to play and we make those our goals for the season. If the student is a beginner, we take it slow and then build into what we think the goals should be for them.

Hear me out- The piano may be the easiest instrument to play physically and one of the hardest to play mentally.

Easy to play physically:
With the piano, just hit a key to make a sound come out. Thats it. No fighting with the reed on a saxophone, killin' your cheeks on a trumpet, or building calluses on the guitar.

Hard to play mentally:
Almost all other instruments require both hands to create sound. Strings require one hand to choose a note on a string while the other hand plucks or bows it and all wind instruments require both hands to pick a note while your breath plays it. We already know to play the piano you just hit a button... this means each hand can hit a button. You can now make two sounds at once, independently from each other. It's like playing two instruments at once.

This lets us start simple because its easy to play, but allows us to grow in so many topics because of the pianos "harmonic depth." Try learning chords and theory on a horn instrument which ...
