Music has been my passion since starting lessons age 7 and training for years in performance, composition and theory, culminating in a masters degree from The Royal Academy of Music in London, England. Learning to read music well with enjoyment, musicality and strong technique is my main focus. I cover music from different periods in history, including music being composed today. I work with children age 5 to adults with all levels of experience. I have taught children in schools and privately in my home studio where I have an upright acoustic Schulze Pollmann (German/Italian) piano and a Yamaha keyboard with weighted keys. I've been playing piano since 1989 it's a great instrument, I love it sound and all the possibilities that it brings to a musician.... some people think it's easy to play but not so, because the one and only contact you have with this big instrument are the tip of your fingers... and you have to send all your information (feelings...) through this tiny part of your body.... it's not easy... but it might be fun and without any doubt it will be worth it....

I provide private piano lessons customized to each student's skill, pace, and learning style. An age appropriate curriculum is chosen to maximize both learning and enjoyment. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome. During lessons, students will learn proper playing techniques, artistic expression, and music theory while mastering songs from classical, folk, jazz, and pop genres. With 10 years of teaching experience, I specialize in working with beginning students of all ages. In lessons I strive to build a strong foundation of reading music, rhythm and music theory. Students are placed in the appropriate level of Piano Adventures during their first lesson. They are required to have the books by their next lesson. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

Learning music should be fun and engaging! My style of teaching helps my students learn the songs they want to learn once they have understood a certain level of music theory. Students are motivated to learn through instruction that they can understand, so I work with both children and adults to find their preferred learning style. So when students enjoy learning, practicing comes naturally and the music becomes a fulfilling experience for both the teacher and the student!
