Because of the pandemic, I decided to venture way out of my comfort zone and try something new:
Singing .....for the very first time in my life.
I did an Internet search, and it turns out the universe was very good to me. I discovered Stephanie.
She is a beam of energy and positive light… That makes everything fun, interesting and exciting. She has a knack for mixing physical, mental and technical intricacies of music, voice and sound… with the ability to deliver it in a succinct, understandable package… that even a complete novice like me was able to digest, and to my surprise, eventually execute.
Personal discovery can be a very exciting event. This was certainly no exception. I have Stephanie to thank for this one!
I would highly recommend her for anyone searching for a music or voice teacher.
Next up… Piano. My teacher… well, Stephanie of course!

Stephanie is a master of teaching technique and bodily awareness. In addition, she is passionate about singing and dedicated to her students.

Neil is a great piano teacher. I took many years of lessons growing up and then stopped playing the piano for 10 years. I picked it up a year ago learning new pieces and hit a "wall" where I wasn't able to improve myself, so I wanted to find a teacher that could help. Neil has been great - proactively pointing out areas where I tense up or could use a different fingering, suggesting helpful sight reading pieces, and even helping me find a better keyboard for my own practice at home. He has a lot of experience and good advice.

I have the highest praise for Neil. I am an adult, and I studied for nine years as a child and started studying again about ten years ago and have studied with several teachers during that time. I work on some difficult pieces, and Neil can always explain to me how to play the passages I am having trouble with and make it seem easy. Also, he can demonstrate for me how something should be played because he is such an excellent pianist. I am so happy I found Neil, and highly recommend him.

Online Piano Teacher

Hello! I have been teaching piano for 6 years and I specialize in the elementary and intermediate levels of the instrument. I have taught piano students ranging from 5 - 65 years of age and have also worked with students with learning disabilities. My piano lessons are tailored to each individual student's needs and interests. Once my piano students learn their fundamentals, we explore music the student shows interest in. Students will learn how to construct a personal practice routine, will learn basic music theory, will frequently sight-read, and much more.

A little about me: I began private piano lessons at age 5 and continued lessons until age 16. I began teaching piano privately during my undergraduate studies and currently teach online and in-person music lessons in the DC Metro area.

About Victoria

I am an experienced piano and French horn teacher of 6 years based in the D.C. Metro area, specializing in the elementary and intermediate levels of both instruments. I have worked with students ranging from 5 - 65 years of age and have also taught students with learning and physical disabilities.

Victoria has been a great teacher for our daughter! We appreciate that she has offered a virtual teaching option for students to continue practicing and playing at home. Our daughter loves to play and Victoria has moved her through learning the basics to learning "real songs" as our daughter says. Highly recommend her as an instructor.

The bass lessons with Stephen has been great so far. He is very skilled and carries himself in a professional way. He took the time to teach the basic theory of music and bass guitar. I am an adult student and have taken lessons in the past and am starting again. I have enjoyed the personal and attentive instruction given. Susan sits right by the piano and watches every movement. Teachers I have had in the past have not done this. She provides supplemental material that I need. She is always very friendly, kind, patient and has a great deal of professional knowledge. 5 New Year's Resolutions Every Pianist Should Make

Thinking about making some New Year's resolutions? If you're new to the piano, we challenge you to make some specific to your lessons! Here, St. Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. shares a few suggestions...   The beginning of a new year is fast approaching, and the one thing that comes to the minds of most of us this season is that formidable word "resolution." We can choose to think of the word with dread and annoyance, reminded of all the times that we've tried to stick to our resoluti …
