Zach is awesome! My 15yo daughter has been loving her lessons and is excited to show us what she has learned after every lesson. She picked up the guitar herself about six months ago and after learning some basics from YouTube she asked if she could have lessons to get to the next level. She will definitely be continuing her weekly lessons with Zach for as long as she wants. We love hearing her practice every day and are excited that she is learning to play the music she listens to and has a passion for.

Zach is a great teacher! He has been teaching my son (HS Junior) piano since November and from the start, Zach has been very easy to work with, a good balance of encouragement while challenging Noah to improve his skill level. Definitely recommend :)

Had an excellent initial discussion with my instructor, Edwin, today. It was big picture but at the same time Edwin’s comments & suggestions gave me confidence in his command of the art (engineering, arrangement, composition & structure, and playing techniques), all the things I’m going to need help with to take my musical projects to another level.

I have been teaching piano for over twenty years, with many of my students participating in international competitions and regularly receiving state honors from the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC). Teaching is truly more than a career for me - it is a passion that guides my interaction with all of my students, no matter their age and skillset.

If in addition to pursuing piano as a hobby, you would like to participate in the MTAC Certificate of Merit examinations and earn credit for your studies, you are more than welcome to do so. As a member of the MTAC, my students boast a 100% pass rate (with the vast majority receiving perfect scores on both the performance and music theory sections).

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Can't wait to meet you! :-)

*Please Note*
Online-only piano classes are only available to students who have prior experience. I do not recommend complete beginners to start fully online, as there are beginners' nuances that are ...

All Ages and All Levels. Classically trained. Encourage students to incorporate favorite songs/genres of music be it rock, pop, jazz, etc. For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs. Let's make beautiful music!

Working with Jenny has been a great experience.

She has a wealth of knowledge in music. She was raised around music so it comes as second nature to her. Her experience definitely shows from theory to technique, structure to general perspective.

Jen's wide-ranging experience allows her to accommodate different learning styles. Even when I was unsure of which methods were most suitable for me, she was able to determine an appropriate approach. Each lesson is tailored around your preference while still maintaining steady progress towards your goals.

She's flexible, patient, communicative, and fun to work with. Her versatility has made learning piano so much easier and more exciting for me than before. I'm always looking forward to each session. I've also been able to learn about other aspects of music, as she isn't limited to piano; she's knowledgeable of other instruments and teaches dance as well.

One of my favorite things about Jen is that, even though she's easy to work with, she ensures that I've truly grasped one concept before moving to the next. It's also always great to see her play (:

Stephanie is such an amazing vocal coach. Her instructions are very clear and concise which makes it very easy for me to understand and comprehend my mistakes. In just the span of a month and a week I am able to see the progress i've made through Stephanie's teaching. Stephanie also demonstrates her enthusiasm of wanting to help others improve which makes the lessons all the more better. She is definitely a go-to if you want to improve musically!

Stephanie has been everything I ever wanted and more in vocal coach. She makes it so comfortable for me to find my true singing voice and continuously helps me improve every time I meet with her. Her ears are so trained to heard what I'm doing right or wrong and communicates really well on explaining what I should do or not do to sing correctly which for me is key. Besides the in person lessons she's also helpful with sending back feedback when I send over my voice notes from my phone.
Rosie
Stephanie is the best vocal coach in Los Angeles. She is sweet, caring, and an incredible instructor. She is passionate about teaching and her students. I feel blessed to have found Stephanie online after trying out different vocal instructors that didn’t seem to care beyond the lessons and whether there was any improvement. Stephanie goes above and beyond and she’s extremely talented and has a beautiful voice herself! She is a professional that takes her time with beginners but knows her stuff and will take the time to teach you about your voice. She also creates an incredibly comfortable space where you can be vulnerable and emotional and make mistakes all while nurturing you to do your best! I highly recommend Stephanie to any professional or novice looking to start singing for fun!

"A Great Teacher!

Our son experienced a double-stroke/traumatic brain injury at birth. During his life, my wife and I have constantly implemented as many therapies and different learning environments, as possible. Not surprisingly, we have read how music can facilitate learning for children in various subjects and even enhance many of their skills that could be used in other areas.

As parents, we believe it has been a true blessing, finding a teacher such as Jenny, and we are very fortunate to have her as our son’s piano teacher. Through Jenny’s great patience and teaching methods, our 4-year-old son, today, is able to read and play his notes. We believe that this is possible because Jenny is a very experienced teacher knowing when to modify and implement the lesson plans in order for one to reach their full potential.

What a joy it is to see our son read, comprehend, and play his music. We are greatly appreciative for Jenny’s expertise, patience, and special skill of possessing the ability to teach many walks of life how to play the piano."

Why Playing Slow is The Best Way to Practice Piano

Playing fast is cool. Audiences love to see fingers flying fast over the keys, effortlessly and in perfect control (or even out-of-control!) It provides a sense of exhilaration and danger, and taps into our love of exhibition and speed. The pianist themselves also enjoy playing fast, as the effort and exercise is satisfying once grasped. But despite the love of playing fast, the practice and journey to gain this ability is actually very much slow practice. There is a famous story of a co …

Beginner Piano Exercises: How to Tame the Flyaway Fourth Finger

When you're learning how to play the piano, finger exercises are especially important--especially if you're having trouble controlling that pesky fourth finger! Learn the steps to take in this guest post by Ann Arbor, MI teacher Amy C...   When I first began to learn piano, my fourth finger seemed bent on being anywhere but on the keys. Whenever I was not using it, the fourth finger--and by extension, the fifth finger--simply floated in midair, hovering above the ivories. This meant t …
