I have been taking piano lessons with Nevena for three months and I highly recommend her as a teacher. I'm 46 years old with no musical background and no sense of rhythm, if she can teach me she can teach anybody.

She is a very patient instructor. We use a book for lessons but also individualizes lessons depending on how your are progressing.

We recently had to switch to having our classes through Skype and she has been very effective continuing to teach in that format.

Nevena is an amazing Piano instructor. Not only was she receptive to my piano goals but she also ensured that I received an adequate foundation in understanding music and how to practice.

I highly recommend hiring Nevena as your Piano instructor. She has helped me rediscover the joy of listening to music, playing music and creating music! I'm sure she can do the same for you

Whether you're just starting out, looking to brush up on your skills, or learning more advanced repertoire, I am happy to adjust lessons to YOUR goals! We can also incorporate music theory and history to broaden your musical understanding.

I am a professional musician residing in New Orleans. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in music and have been studying and playing the piano since the age of 8! I currently teach and provide piano accompaniment with the music department at Tulane University.

Please contact me to discuss method books, repertoire, etc. I am happy to teach online, in person at Tulane University, or at your location. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about lessons, scheduling or anything else!

"I have been taking lessons with Heather for almost 3 years and it has significantly improved my piano playing. I started as an adult learner and was stuck “in a groove” when I started lessons with Heather. She has helped me to learn more technical skills to play piano more efficiently and with more ease. She is extremely experienced and knowledgeable, so if you’re looking for the best, look no further. I have recommended her to my niece, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law. If you are looking for classical and/or hymns piano teacher, Heather is an excellent choice."

"Julie is an excellent teacher and professional. Her knowledge base is incredible; she absolutely is a master. She knows exactly how to reach my 5-year-old and my 11-year-old, and teach them where they are. She stretches them, and it is amazing to see how far they've come in just a short while. Julie teaches them piano in a multitude of ways: they listen, they play, they move, they sing, they read, they study, they write. It's so much more than just sitting at the piano and playing notes. My children are learning to MAKE MUSIC and it is a beautiful thing. I'm very happy we found Julie Lopez."
