While teaching bass is my specialty, I've been teaching guitar for 4 years and have amassed quite the collection. The overwhelming majority of my students at the shops I teach at take lessons on guitar, so most of my time is actually spent teaching guitar. In lessons, we'll cover basic chords, scales, and rhythms, as well as some introductory music theory so the student knows why they're playing what they play.

About Tommy

My name is Tommy. I've been playing bass and guitar since I was 11 years old. When I was in high school, I won my school's Duke Ellington Jazz Performance Award my junior year. Around this time I began to work at my neighborhood's local lesson shop Let's Play Music! off of W Broad Street in Falls C

Janis has been working with my daughter on multiple subjects, including Piano, reading, math, science, and ukulele since she was 4 years old. The impact that she has had on my child goes beyond just being a teacher - she has helped shape her personality and has instilled in her a love and enthusiasm for learning that is priceless.

Janis has been an amazing teacher and mentor to my children for the past 15 years. She was the kindest, and the most patient teacher with the greatest teaching method for math and English as a tutor to my son, who is currently studying for his MBA. And she was the most patient and flexible as well as detail oriented piano instructor for my younger daughter. Her unique teaching methods help her students learn and retain information and her kind smile and sense of humor make the kids want to continue their work and practice.

Love Dr. M! I've wanted to take voice lessons forever but I have been hesitant due to my lack of experience. Dr. M not only made me feel comfortable but also confident in the voice that I have. She's personal and warm but also very professional. She never gets frustrated with obstacles I face in my lessons; instead she helps ways to overcome them.

I've never left a lesson feeling disappointed with my ability, something I experienced with other voice teachers. I feel confident in my voice and I owe that all to Melissa. For instance, during one lessons I was feeling a little off. Rather than getting frustrated she helped me focus on great ways to approach singing when not feeling your best. Dr. McCann rocks!

If you are looking for a voice teacher new or experienced I would definitely recommend Dr. McCann. Top notch lessons and overall awesome woman!
Kassondra
Dr. M. is a phenomenal teacher who does a great job customizing her lessons to the needs of the student. She has helped me make amazing progress with my voice, and just as importantly has helped me gain the confidence to be able to sign.

Her lessons are fun, effective, and very positive. All of which help the student learn more and get more out of the lesson. I highly recommend Dr. M. as a teacher to anyone (at any level) who is interested in becoming a better singer.

I have been teaching Guitar since 2012 in a wide variety of settings, styles, and age groups. It is never too early or late to begin leaning guitar!

I tailor my teaching approach for the specific needs and goals of each student, always putting their priorities first. While I am versed in theoretical approaches and using method books like the Hal Leonard series, I am also fluent in working on contemporary music with a focus on ear training and improvisation.

Patient, focused, encouraging and time efficient. He was good at keeping our youngster on task and making the experience fun. Wish he was able to take our child further with piano. I don't know how much was Tyler and how much was our child, but our kiddo learned quickly from Tyler. Thank you Tyler!
