About Ed
I have been playing guitar, singing, writing songs and making music for 30+ years. I am still learning! I have played in dozens of bands in a variety of styles all over the world. I bring a lot of real world experience to the table and can help you prepare to bring your voice and your music to the world. I am fluent in rock, folk, blues, electric or acoustic, country, etc. and am comfortable working with people of all ages, ideas, backgrounds, cultures, etc.

No matter if you are brand new to the instrument or have been playing for some time, I am sure I can help point you in the direction that you want to go so you can make the music you want to hear coming from your fingers!

*** Lesson Details ***
Typically, I try to understand what a student wants and then tailor a specific plan for them. Often this incorporates learning so
ngs as not only an example of how to play, but as well to understand the "why" of the guitar and how it sounds. It's important, I think, that a student enjoys the lessons and looks forward to what is coming next. Guitar certainly can be challenging but it doesn't have to be boring!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a variety of gear as needed to complement the lesson, the student should provide their own instrument. If you need help picking one out, I can do that. Getting the right instrument that you are comfortable with is important. There are lots of options out there and instruments have never been more affordable.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide all my own equipment, student should have at least a guitar

*** Specialties ***
In addition to how to play guitar, if a student wants, I enjoy branching out into teaching/coaching songwriting, recording, producing, improvising, ear training and basic music theory, and performance skills. I also can do some coaching related to music business, marketing, guitar gear, amps, effects, gigging strategies, and pretty much anything related to these subjects.

About Elizabeth
I am a professional singer, pianist, songwriter, and guitarist. I graduated from University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Music Education and have been teaching and performing for over 10 years.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels but specialize in teaching young beginner children. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I tour the nation with my b
and and have a deep passion for performing. As a professional musician I offer insight into what it means to be an artist and foster that creative force in all of my students. I love sharing my love of music with my students and look forward to meeting you and helping you become a better musician!

My 7 year old took piano lesson after one year of break, but was able to play 1/3 of the song (which she was playing more than a year ago) with both hands nicely after just one lesson with Elizabeth. Magical!
It was the first lesson with Elizabeth and I’m very excited about continuing her fun lesson!

Whether you want to learn a few songs, improve your chops or all-out shred, your lessons are designed to get your playing where you want it to be. Your lesson plan will be custom-tailored to your ability and geared toward your goals as a guitarist.

In addition to private lessons, I am currently a guitar/bass instructor at Oregon Music Academy with students of all ages and skill levels.

to ensure accurate playing as well as an injury-free career.

The Fretboard - Learn notes, scales, arpeggios and know your way around your instrument.

Harmony - Learn how to play chords, how to write music using chords, chord inversions and more.

Musicianship - Music theory, improvisation, songwriting, sight-reading, and everything an aspiring guitarist needs.

Progress Reports (Checkpoints) - Don't worry, this isn't a report card! This is just a check in every so often to remind us how far we have come and where we want to go from here.

My teaching style is based on the following core values:

Jered continues to be a fantastic teacher. He took the time to get to know what my goals are, he gives me good feedback, and he assigns me "homework" that is relevant and helpful to my progress. We focus on both the technique of playing bass as well as the the purpose and "feel" of the bass in different songs. I have fun at my lessons and look forward to them every week, and my bass playing continues to improve.

Mark is quite articulate about music which allows us to thoroughly examine the different sounds and elements in a song to better understand what we like and what could be improved upon. I recommend him as a teacher to students of all ability levels and am excited for us to continue working together.
