Michael is currently the Music Director at John Spry Community School and Music Theory Teacher at Community Links High School. He also works as a performer and studio musician for groups including Little Boy Jr., Rusty Gates, The Casual Ties, The Fox and the Hounds.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Michael is a talented musician, composer and educator. As a performer for over 18 years, he has played with a variety of talented groups including the Eastern Illinois University Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo, The Wheaton Municipal Band, The Chicago Concert Winds, The Kelly Bell Band of Baltimore Maryland, The Staff Blues Band, Little Boy Junior, Rusty Gates, and The Casual Ties. He has also performed on stage with several big names including Bob Mintzer, Scott Wendholt, and Wayne Bergeron. At Eastern Illinois University he was taught and mentored by their accomplished jazz faculty: Paul Johnston (Piano) and Sam Fagaly (Saxophone.) Michael has also won several academic awards including The "Eastern Illinois Talented Student Scholarship," and the "EIU Jazz Alumni Scholarship."
Michael is currently Music Teacher and Orchestra Director at John Spry Elementary School as well as Music Theory teacher at Community Links High School.

Michael is a great instructor. He has the patience and knowledge it takes to be a great saxophone instructor. I would recommend him to anyone who is serious and want quality lessons.
