Book NowHello! I've been teaching violin and piano for 10+ years to students of all ages. I love helping beginners learn about the fun world of music, and helping intermediate/advanced students hone their skills.
I have a minor in music from Brigham Young University and have played in many different orchestras. I was All State in orchestra for 4 years during high school, and was concertmaster of the Brigham Young Symphony Orchestra. I also played with the Bradley University orchestra in Peoria, IL.
I am very patient and pay close attention to see what works best for each individual student. I love to have students try music from different styles, and also teach basic music theory and ear training skills.
If a student desires, I also like to get them involved in group playing opportunities, and hold periodic performance recitals.
I offer in person or video lessons, whichever you prefer.

About Anthony
Ever since I was 8 years old, I have loved playing the bagpipes. The instrument was not easy at first - and admittedly I wanted to quit taking lessons early on - but by persevering through the initial learning curve I took off with it and my life has honestly never been the same since. My hope is t

I have taken five lessons with Anthony and have very much enjoyed his passion and teaching style. He is patient and non-judgmental and has a very thoughtful process for learning bagpipe techniques.
I appreciate that he sends me a video demonstration of what we just covered in the lesson to fall back on.
Anthony played thunderstruck by AC/DC for me once and it was simply amazing.

For beginners, I will help you understand the basics and find your voice, and begin to sing different styles of music.
For intermediate students, I will teach you more advanced concepts and identify and hone problem areas.
For advanced students, we will work on fine-tuning both your voice and your repertoire to make you as well-rounded and flexible a singer as possible.
About Susan Skye
I started singing when I heard the musical "Cats" at age 8. I decided I wanted to sing like those people, and that's exactly what I did: I sang my little heart out until I had a great voice. At age 11, I was asked to play the bassoon in the school band, which also required piano lessons. This

There are arguably more jokes about "singers" in the jazz community than there are about drummers (or even trombonists)! These jokes arise because so many jazz singers don't think of themselves as musicians; as part of the band. And we need to change that!
As jazz vocalists, we need to learn more than just songs. (Although, of course, we learn lots of songs!) We learn musicianship, how to communicate with a band, how to make charts/lead sheets in your best keys, and a great deal of jazz music etiquette. In addition, of course, we learn about improvisation, a key component of singing in the jazz idiom.
Once you are comfortable with the idea of singing (and leading a band) through a few songs, we will attend a jazz jam in Tucson to experience it for real!
