Joan has been teaching our 5 year old daughter in our home and has incredible patience and finds ways to make it fun for her as well as educational. She also was flexible when we needed to change our lesson times from a weekday to a weekend morning time slot and was always on time and very professional. I would highly recommend her as a teacher for a young beginner!

Joan is very patient as an instructor. I appreciate the feedback she has given me on nuances in my body posture, my grip on the sticks, and seating position to help me be comfortable during the lessons. I began drum lessons with her early in my pregnancy and she has been very accommodating to my busy and hectic schedule.

Travis H.

Los Angeles, CA

About Travis

I grew up in Los Angeles and went on to attend the University of Redlands .While at University, I played in the University Orchestra and a variety of other ensembles. In addition to violin, I also studied jazz guitar, so classical music is definitely not the only musical style I am familiar with. I am lucky enough to study with Jeanne Skrocki, who is currently the Concertmaster of the Redlands Symphony Orchestra and the Assistant Concertmaster of the Pacific Symphony. My musical experience with violin is not confined to classical! I also have experience with other styles, including Irish folk music and bluegrass. While classical is my bread and butter, I can take a more rounded approach in terms of exposure to musical styles if desired. *** Lesson Details *** My approach to ...

The best music teacher!!

My 11-year-old son has been taking violin lessons with Travis for a couple months now and loves it! Travis always has a smile on his face, comes on time, and is professional. My son had zero experience with this instrument before; so it was important for me to find a teacher who is patient, and Travis definitely is. He has a good sense for when his students are ready for a little push or need some extra attention in some spots. I highly recommend him!

She is able to teach many genres of music to all levels of musicianship, whether beginner or advanced, whether they want to learn Mozart or Coldplay, Aretha Franklin or Joni Mitchell . Her style of teaching utilizes the classical approach of theory and sight reading, but MOST IMPORTANTLY allows the student to explore the instrument freely while also achieving good musicianship. Having fun while honing the craft is the way to an enduring love of playing and is a principle she always uses in her lessons. Carmen has a special gift with very young children; she is able to keep children interested, engaged, inspired and challenged. She has a patience with children that is extraordinary because she ...

Jon has been an excellent instructor to my 11-year-old boy. Aside from his personal passion in Saxophone, he is also an distinguished performer. As a parent, and especially for a beginner student, Jon's passion and patience will only foster if not inspire a young and curious saxophone learner.
