Learn how to play the piano with technique, theory and performance.

About Jacquie
As a young child, Jacquie began to show interest in both piano and voice. Coming from a musical family tree, her father began teaching her beginner piano as well as vocal harmony through original children compositions. She began her formal piano training at age 8 and continued to study for the next 5 years. At this time she also began writing music and recording her compositions in the family recording studio.

Around the age of 12, Jacquie began her training in classical voice. She is well versed in all styles from Opera to Pop and has the unique ability to train others to accomplish their musical goals. As a Coloratura Soprano she has starred in many productions and won prestigious vocal competitions throughout the USA and Europe. Jacquie is an accomplished Contemporary Songwriter and Recording Artist which has caught the eye of quit
e a few National Recording Companies. In the Summer of 2000 she toured throughout Tuscany, Italy as a featured soloist with SSMA with an Orchestral Ensemble. While in college she minored in Piano Performance and majored in Vocal Performance.

Jacquie began teaching at the age of 16 from her family's music store in beginner piano and voice where she learned the art of being an private instructor. Since then she has taught at other prestigious Music Schools and has trained students of all ages to the advanced level. She prides herself on the ability to be able to customize each lesson to accommodate both the student's wants and needs. She has trained many students who have gained successful entrance into LVPA Charter High School, Community Theaters and highly acclaimed competitions such as "American Idol." In 2005 she acquired a membership with NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing).

Come have FUN with Jacquie, she would love to have the opportunity to guide you or your children through a musical journey!

As a private instructor Jacquie believes that lessons can be both FUN and rewarding. She holds her students accountable for practicing and preparing for the next week's lesson by setting goals and providing techniques in order to be successful. Throughout the lesson she will give praise for the students accomplishments as well as give constructive feedback for improvement. She prefers to teach from the Alfred's Piano Library for Piano, recommends Theory, Harmony & Solfege, as well as materials for the students choice of Musical and Vocal style. It is also recommended to bring a notebook, binder and personal MP3 device in order to prepare for the next week's lesson. Within the first 3-6 months a student will have learned the beginning techniques for either piano or voice and have quite a few songs added to their repertoire.

Jacquie's studio has a comfortable seating area for parents to observe the lesson if desired. She also has a full size digital studio piano, recording studio, stereo, and other musical necessities to accommodate each and every lesson professionally.

All styles from Opera to POP!
Experience with teaching young children, special needs (physically/intellectually disabled), and people who are tone deaf.

Excellent Teaching Skills

The best vocal coach ever! Miss Jackie makes the students feel as though there is nothing that they cannot do and helps them achieve it. She is very knowledgeable in every aspect of her field, goes above and beyond. She is very patient with the students and never lets them feel silly. I highly recommend her for vocal lessons.

Students of all skill levels are welcome. I tailor the lesson type to the student rather than use a cookie-cutter approach.

About Nicholas
I am a second generation music teacher for piano and violin. I have been teaching for over 20 years as well as playing both instruments for about 30 years. I have an Associates in Music. Making lessons both fun and educational is what make my students successful in their instruments. My lessons are custom made to how the student learns, not cookie-cut. We also do bi-annual recitals in December and April to showcase the students' accomplishments.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are both fun and educational at the same time. I compromise with my students by having us each pick a piece to play on top of the usual learning pieces. My students play anything from Katy Perry to 80s music and rock ballads and in between. I use John Thompson and Fingerpower as well as a notespeller for piano and String Essentials for violin. Many of
my students can play with both hands after six months. We do recitals each year to showcase the past year's achievements in their pieces.

*** Travel Equipment ***
For either instrument I pick up all books and supplies ahead of the lesson. I have my own violin and music stand that I use to assist in teaching.

*** Specialties ***
John Thompson, Suzuki, popular music, Gospel, New Age, and anything in between

We've had two lessons from Nicholas and can already play a few tunes! His instruction is very clear, focused and yet fun. This last is particularly important to my two young boys. He made sure that he understood our goals, what type of music we wanted to learn and quickly assessed our skills. We are looking forward to learning more from him as our lessons progress.

Have you ever wanted to play jazz? Here in New Orleans is the perfect place to learn and eventually play it on the music scene! I have been teaching jazz for the last five years in many subject areas including piano, jazz theory, composition, ear training and more. Lessons will include methods and technique for students to be able to express themselves on their instrument through jazz improvisation. My primary instrument is piano but I am open to teaching any student on any instrument that is interested in learning how to play jazz. Send me a message if you are interested!

About Jason
I am a professional jazz pianist and composer. I attended the Florida State University studying jazz under some of the best jazz musicians in the world including Scotty Barnhart, director of the Count Basie Orchestra and Marcus Roberts, pianist for Wynton Marsalis. I have been playing music professionally since 2011 with my own bands and other groups including the Tallahassee Jazz Symphony Orchestra and a jazz trio here in New Orleans. I truly enjoy teaching anyone interested in learning more about jazz because playing jazz can truly help one grow in their musicianship. I also enjoy exploring more contemporary genres of music like Neo-Soul, R&B, and electronic music. I released a single on Spotify in 2016 called The First Breath and plan on releasing more music. Some of my biggest musical inspirations are Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, and
Robert Glasper. I hope to reflect my musical influences and experiences on all of my students.

I teach all skill levels and styles. Every lesson I teach is customized to the individual student and their musical interests. I do not believe in simply teaching people how to play songs; I believe in teaching people how the songs they love are constructed, and how they can incorporate the elements of a piece of music that they like into their personal musical style so they can apply them to everything they play in the future. I use music as a lens to teach the process of learning so that you can reach a point where you feel confident in creating your own exercises to further your development.  My goal is to give you the tools to pursue music, as well as anything else, to the best of your ability without someone watching over your shoulder. That way you’re free to explore whatever it is you love the most!

About Trevor
I am a professional keyboardist with over 25 years’ experience, with training from both Berklee College of Music and Musician’s Institute. Living, playing and teaching professionally in Los Angeles for 10+ years, I have had the privilege of traveling all over the world performing with artists of many different genres, playing everything from intimate jazz clubs to arena pop shows in front of tens of thousands.

Currently, I am the touring organ player for the world-renowned punk rock band Social Distortion and am an endorsed Hammond artist. I am also the founder/keyboardist of a well-known instrumental funk trio, and have released two albums and toured across the U.S. as an original artist. Working with symphonies across the country such as the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Anchorage Symphony, and many
others while backing up special guest singers such as John Elefante of Kansas and Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship. I have also made several TV appearances as a guest performer on shows such as Glee and NCIS.

I teach lessons both online and in-person out of my home in Santa Monica. I own a wide array of instruments including a piano, a Hammond B3, a Rhodes Mark II Suitcase, a Hohner D6 Clavinet and a Moog Little Phatty, so we can focus on techniques that apply to any or all of those classic keyboards. I work with students of all ages and skill levels with a variety of musical goals.

I regularly play and teach in styles including rock, pop, blues, R&B, jazz, funk and classical. Having a deep background in classical piano, I competed nationally in the US Open Music Competition throughout my childhood and won multiple medals (including some gold). In addition to topics specific to the piano, I also teach synth programming/digital music creation, patch creation, MIDI programming, recording techniques, vocal coaching, performance coaching, songwriting, and composition.

I have taken lessons here and there throughout my entire life, but never really advanced much further than learning scales. With his enthusiastic and attentive teaching style, Trevor’s guidance helped me to advance really quickly! Before we even started lessons, he asked me to send him music that I liked and wanted to learn how to play, because he said I it would make me want to practice instead of feeling forced. What a great way to get your students to practice! It was so much fun! Trevor had great lesson plans and focused on music theory to truly get me to understand the instrument. Trevor really took the time to invest in me—he even went so far as to go with me to Guitar Center to help me purchase the right piano. His teaching style is straightforward and encouraging. I recommend him all the time to friends looking to learn piano and I recommend him to you, too!!

I used to play piano for 12+ years as a child. Now as an adult, I was nervous to book a lesson as it felt like a rather heavy-lift to start from scratch again. I had tried working with teachers in the past and although they were decent teachers, I never felt motivated to continue my practice/passion. Trevor, on the other hand, made it easy for me to stay committed to my goal of re-learning music; making it fun, enjoyable and something to look forward to on a regular basis. His knowledge of music theory, technique, and communicative teaching style made it effortless for me to dive right back in! Whether you're new to music, trying to re-start, or are looking to become a professional musician, I have no hesitations in recommending Trevor! My love of music has only grown since starting to work with him and I continue to follow this for years to come. Can't thank him enough!
