About Victor
I received my Bachelor of Music Degree in Organ Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in June of 2010, studying under Dr. Roberta Gary. I have completed two years of additional graduate study at the Conservatory, and plan to utilize these credits to earn a Master's in Music in the next few years.

I began playing the piano at the age of 5, later moving to the organ at 9. I have held a church job since then, working in multiple different denominations and settings. I have a strong background of piano, accompanying, theory, sacred liturgy, and musical performance. I enjoy studying and listening to many genres of music as well as performing them. I am very interested in historically informed performance and understanding different techniques as they are related to the composition style of different time perio
ds.

I enjoy working with students of all ages. Regardless of your ability, age, or experience, I will work with you. We can work out a plan for lesson times, intensity of practice and work, and tailor the lesson to the right pace for you.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons tend to be tailored to the needs of individual students. I am not as much a fan of a strict curriculum that I use on each student. For beginners, one can expect to be given method books to get them moving in the right direction. As one advances, we eventually move on to repertoire. I take an approach to lessons that emphasizes total body awareness and high level mental awareness. The most important thing anyone can learn in music is that it isn't just about the right notes; it isn't about the right rhythm. It is about the complete musicianship and the complete awareness needed to truly understand and perform a work of music. In order to make this approach work, my strictness as a teacher varies depending on the level of devotion the student is willing to put forth. After six months with me as a teacher, expect to notice changes in the way you see music and comprehend your technique at the keyboard.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect students to purchase their own music. For beginners with method books, I have these available to the students to purchase from me.

*** Specialties ***
I am very highly trained in performance practices of the Baroque era, especially on the organ. I am also very specialized in body movement and efficient keyboard technique. I also have a lot of experience in the Romantic repertoire of the piano. Lastly, I am also well trained as an accompanist on both the organ and the piano.

I have enjoyed working with Victor. He is very knowledgeable about the music in particular the Baroque period. He brings a very good perspective that has enriched my understanding of early music. I can say clearly that one leaves sessions with a desire to learn more and with an understanding of music as serious branch of human study rather than something that is simply fun (in the sense of being mundane amusement).

Victor is an amazing teacher and we have loved working with him for many years now. He taught all 3 of my boys at all different levels and they all progressed very well in piano. He has also served as accompanist for my son who plays the trumpet. I highly recommend Victor as an amazing teacher for all levels who truly wants to help the kids learn.

Victor is gifted in teaching. I feel that playing the piano and teaching the piano are two separate gifts. Victor is gifted with both abilities. If you are hesitating because your not sure whom you would like to choose, choose Victor you will not be sorry.

About Guitar Lessons With Todd

"Todd is a very gifted and motivated guitarist with an uncommon aptitude for teaching."
Rodney Stucky

"Todd is passionate about teaching, and dedicates himself to this with utmost energy and purpose. He is always extremely successful in producing a high level of achievement with every student." Jeffrey Van

One of the most important duties of a competent instructor is teaching students how to practice. This is just as true for the rank beginner as it is for the advanced student, or even professional. Everyone can learn to play music and play it well if given competent instruction. Learning to play well is learning about the mind and body, and how to use it to one's potential. As the awareness of the self is refined, not only is the playing improved, but the potential for greatness is elevated. Lea
rning to perform music with security and confidence is fun!

About Shon
My Name is Shon M.

I was raised in a family that has a tradition of passing the art of music down from generation to generation. I began playing at age 5 and I play 5 instruments professionally and 15 instruments in all. I studied music at Morehead State University and Musician’s Institute. I've been a touring and studio musician since the age of 16. I have been teaching music for more than 35 years. Many of my alumni have gone on to become professional musicians and teachers themselves. My approach to music education is somewhat unique, although it is gaining popularity in the mainstream of music education. I view music more like a language, as opposed to what some have called more of a data entry approach. Don't get me wrong, reading music is important and I do it everyday, but your music lessons should be teaching you how to play a
n instrument, not spending the majority of your time in learning to read right out of the gate. Yes there basics you must learn, but when you were a child, you didn't learn to read as you spoke your first words. You were learning to speak your language long before your learned your ABC's. There are many musicians with little formal training who play an instrument so well you'd swear you can see smoke coming from their fingers. Let me tell you, they weren't born that way. They learned to speak the language of music. The fact is, it's so much easier to learn to read music, after you have a basic understanding of how to speak the language. So say good bye to the frustrations of banging you head against the wall with the complexities of reading music and wondering how much longer you're going to have to endure this ongoing torture before you learn to play something cool, and say hello to having fun while learning how to play an instrument and the songs and styles you want to play...

You may have studied music before and given up because it was too difficult. Please know that's not uncommon. But I’m here to tell you, there is a better way! So if you've ever wanted to learn to play an instrument or sing, there is no better time than now.

My piano/songwriting lessons with Shon never got off the ground. On one occasion he showed up 30 minutes late and left me waiting forcing me to cancel due to another appointment. The following week he cancelled literally teo minutes before our session was due to begin, saying he was sick. Then the following week he left me waiting and didn't show up for our scheduled session at all. When I emailed him he said he is overwhelmed with his new work schedule, won't be able to do our lessons and that I should get a refund.

I had even agreed to change my day/time when he said it would be better for him, only to be let down.

What a complete waste of my time and energy. Incredibly unprofessional and inconsiderate conduct.

About cesry
Hello, my name is Cesry W. I have been teaching Piano, bass and guitar for over a decade now. My main focus is gospel, however, I have had college level training in classical as well. I believe that as long as an individual learns the basics, they can establish a firm foundation that will serve them perfectly well as they embark into any genre of music and styles they chooses. I am compassionate, as well as passionate about teaching, as I have taught in the inner city in an attempt to help inspire and develop those children and adults that were at risk, and would not otherwise have an opportunity to learn a skill such as this; as well as giving kids another option, helping them to develop other areas of study in school. I am positive, that if practiced at least 30 minutes daily, my method can help anybody play these instruments! I hope th
at you will consider my services. Thank you. Cesry

About Andy
I started playing guitar in the late 60s. Started playing professionally for approximately 5 years around 1978. Played music off and on until 1993 when I got involved with my churches worship band. Began teaching around 2008 at Sidekick Studios.

I teach beginners and intermediate students of all types, from 9 yr olds wanting to play Taylor Swift songs to 55 yr old guys wanting to learn blues. I can play and teach a variety of styles including country, pop, rock, blues, folk and introduction to jazz.

I get the most satisfaction when a student latches on to an idea and runs with it, or when a student thinks they can't do something and together we work and accomplish it!

I am going into my TENTH year of teaching and plan on being around a long while!

Also, I am currently playing in an acoustic rock duo and also enjoy playi
ng solo acoustic gigs at small venues around town.

Our son was a student of Andy's for 5+ years and truly enjoyed his experience with Andy. Andy is a very patient and an inspiring instructor who really knows music and guitar well! Andy was always good about being available for our son during the week if he had questions about his homework or guitar lesson for the week! Andy always praised our son when needed and challenged him in a professional manner to increase his love of the instrument!

Andy started teaching Pranav at age 6. Pranav took lessons from Andy for over 8 years. Andy has a wonderful encouraging style. He knows when to be firm and when to be kind. We moved to China, otherwise we would still be there every Saturday :) when we return in the summer, Andy is always on our list of people to visit.

About Matt
Greetings!

I am Matt Dickey, a violinist and violist who loves teaching. I have been teaching lessons full time for about 8 years now. I work with students who are complete beginners with no musical experience or background all the way through advanced high school students in youth orchestras. I do a lot of professional performing myself and bring that experience to my teaching.

My lessons are tailored to fit your needs as a student. One thing that parents of my students tell me over and over again is how patient I am when helping their child learn to play the violin or viola. When you come to me to learn, I will stay by your side in your journey to learn music.

I would love to help you learn to play the flute! In my lessons, we work on scales, notes, reading music, tone quality, and much more. I will help you learn to be a well-rounded musician who can read music fluently and produce beautiful music!

My lessons are a great compliment to school band programs in the area. I am the music teacher and band director at a Catholic school in the Mariemont/Madeira area, and I am happy to help with your school's band curriculum and music. I am also happy to help you prepare for collegiate and honor's bands auditions.

My lesson are also great for the stand-alone musicians who simply want to learn flute for individual fulfillment. We can start with our first lesson being one where you learn how to put your flute together and make those first sounds!

Kelly is a wonderful teacher! She is knowledgable, encouraging and patient. My 11 year-old daughter takes flute lessons from her and she told me recently that, "Mrs James is good teacher because she is fun and encourages me, but also tells me when I make a mistake and how to fix it. I like that she is honest with me and shows me how to get better."

I am the principal cellist for the Northern Kentucky University Philharmonic Orchestra. I am passionate about good music, good grammar, and good communication. I am fluent in Spanish. I am 21 years old, and I effectively transfer information and knowledge to my students with neither condescension nor impatience. I ultimately empower my students with the drive and work ethic to achieve anything they can imagine. With my instruction, they will achieve that 5 on their AP English Literature exam (or their AP Environmental Science exam--I can teach that, too!), they will grasp the fundamentals of cello playing, they will understand and speak basic Spanish with an excellent accent. After my instruction, my students will apply their newly-bulletproof work ethic to realize their wildest dreams. They will have intrinsic motivation to teach themsel

I'm a professional pianist that's been practicing for 16 years and am currently studying at University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. I am familiar with a wide variety of teaching and performance styles through working with experts of different schools and ideologies around the world. During Summer I am available most of the time and during school time I'm usually available in the afternoons and the full weekend. Any schedule and length of lessons are welcomed. Lessons will be professional, friendly, effective, to-the-point, interesting, and fun!

It is my dream and vision that I can become of help for people that has love for music and is going through the same struggles that I once went through as an aspiring musician. My style is "keeping it simple"-- if one can't explain the most complex topics in the simplest words, that person does not understand the subject, as I have been the victim of unfriendly, fancy and over-the-top ineffective teaching for my career, and I seek to make the change and put an end to this in my teaching. It will be my honor to be working with every one of you!
