I teach piano in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play a certain style like Funk, or Blues, or how to approach a classical sonata. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

Hello! My name is Alan, I'm a pianist and composer based out of Marco Island, FL with an emphasis in the Jazz idiom. Piano lessons with me are unique in the fact that I integrate into my classes a diverse skill set needed to become not just a great pianist, but also a well rounded musician. My music education (classical theory and performance), as well as 3 years experience working as a jazz pianist, have given me the knowledge and understanding of music necessary to help you achieve your musical ambitions.

In my classes you will learn about harmony (chord structures, tonality), work on technical exercises that develop coordination and dexterity on the piano, learn to read and notate music and study repertoire. I am confident that I can help you progress in your own personal musical journey, whether you are just beginning to play or already have a strong foundation in the fundamentals of music.

"The first lesson was superb. Andrew really enjoyed his first piano class and really liked learning it from Mr. McCool. After class, Andrew was immediately motivated to do his practice. Mr. McCool is very encouraging, he makes the lesson easy going while making his student learned quickly (without pressure). We look forward to the next lessons with him. Leaving the students with their own desire to learn and to love music is indeed very important. He delivers that traits well."

"Mr. Farobag has taught our boys the piano and violin utilizing the Suzuki method. He is a true gentleman and an amazing teacher. I cannot say enough about him. We have had several instructors and Mr. Farobag far exceeds our expectations. We are very lucky to have found him. Mr. Farobag understands the pace of each child and knows how to motivate the student to exceed his expectations. Hiring Farobag has not only given us a superb instructor but a great teacher as well.
