If you want to really rock on the drums I can get you started. I have MANY years of playing, performing, and teaching experience. Want to learn to play your favorite songs? And hopefully develope your own style! Let's rock!

About Thomas

I have been playing drums for over 47 years. For 16 years I played and performed professionally with my band Black Widow USA. We toured the US several times in support of our two internationally released CDs. For about 30 years of my time behind a drum set I had given drum lessons on and off. But b

Tom is a great instructor! Cam is learning so much and making great progress on the drums!

This is our first Drum instructor and we are thrilled with Thomas. He is patient, kind, and enthusiastic about teaching. His approach is positive in nature, meeting the student where they are at, takes their interest as the lead, and starts teaching there. My 11 year old son really likes him too! We go to our 4th lesson this afternoon.

These lessons were great. Regarding drums, I was an absolute beginner, and Tommy's lessons turned out to be an excellent jump-start. I used to play keyboards and guitars before, and I enjoy picking up by ear rather than reading notation, so I really liked informal and 'non-notational' way the lessons went. There was no hard notation drill, and yet Tommy had covered most rudiments, basic techniques, and patterns needed to rock in about 10 lessons. I'd recommend this for anyone who doesn't know how to hold sticks but want to get introduced into rock drumming.

Classical music is stuck in the dark ages. I have adapted a system of learning that seeks to recontextualize the art form by pairing specific skills with core school subjects: math, literacy, foreign language, science, sports, history, and more! This system is known as Arts Integration. No more boring, tedious technique drills or pointless little songs. People deserve to have a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to music, and soon find that its a worthwhile journey to love and pursue music. I believe that everyone can achieve their musical goals with the proper motivation. It's hard work to be a proficient pianist, but its worth it!

About Motya

I am a recent graduate of the University of Maryland with degrees in Piano Performance and Music Education. I've been teaching piano for over 6 years, and voice for 2 years. Earlier this year I founded Fermata Music Studio which uses the Arts Integration system to contextualize music in students

In as short as one semester, Dr. Griffeath has helped my voice tremendously. He genuinely cares about his students and works hard to understand how each one learns.
Whitney
Dr. R is a very talented vocalist who has a strong background in Alexander Technique. Combining the two makes a very sympathetic and understanding mentor. He can hear all of your tensions, including the ones you aren’t aware of. His style of teaching is a very natural approach and he will not ask you to do anything that hurts or pushes you too far. What stands out the most is his determination. He is determined to help you grow. I am very lucky to have him as an on staff professor.
Andrew
Dr. Griffeath is very approachable and highly knowledgeable. He has a great, in-depth understanding of voice and helps one to understand the processes behind every action taken in vocal lessons. He cares greatly about students’ progress, well-being, and enjoyment of the instrument. Highly recommended.

Elena is an amazing teacher - knowledgeable, knows how to bring the best out in her students, her lessons have been very effective and to the point. The progress my daughter made in singing is unbelievable - from "we don't think she can" to " wow!! She can sing!" - her teaching technique is very effective. Professional and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you, Elena! You are the best!

"Summer was a well organized instructor, highly skilled at adapting a lesson to the level of the student, which in my case was very low. She was thorough in her instructions, and provided detailed explanations as well as suggestions to increase the ability to grasp and retain the material. The material she crafted to leave behind for practice seems appropriate to build skills and confidence. Overall, an excellent instructor."

"As an adult, time to practice is a luxury. I really like that the practice pieces are music that I like and are challenging enough for me to enjoy the time spent. Also, he takes time to answer my questions thoroughly, so that I actually feel like I am learning. He is patient and isn't hard on me when I make mistakes. I have started lessons a couple of times, without success. I believe Edward, by far has the best technique and teaching style, for me to enjoy this learning experience."
