I am 39 years old now and have been playing drums since I was a kid. I also learned to read music when I was a kid too. However, I had stopped playing for many years and consequently my playing and reading became really rusty. But then I decided to pick it up again and reverb signed me up with Keith. After 24 lessons, my playing and reading have improved substantially and Keith helped me regain my passion for playing and confidence behind the kit. He is a great teacher and drummer, which shouldn't surprise anyone since he has decades of experience as a drummer/musician in the music industry. His easy-going personality made challenging lessons fun and his encouragement helped really motivate me to get better. I would definitely recommend Keith as an instructor, whether you're young or old, beginner or advanced. You'll even get a good friend out of it too.

Keith John has gone above and beyond the call of duty for a drum teacher. Over several years of taking his lessons I have noticed an incredible change in my playing. He encourages his students to follow their passion for music and tells amazing stories about his life as a professional musician. I highly recommend taking lessons from him: he is incredibly knowledgeable and his words of encouragement have everlasting worth.

I started taking lessons with Rebecca over 2 years ago. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Rebecca is a fantastic teacher, very energetic, patient, encouraging and fun. I feel like I am a whole different singer than I was 2 years ago. Before, I used to like singing. But now, I love it, and I have the confidence I need to sing with friends and feel comfortable with my voice. If you are considering taking singing lessons, Rebecca is the way to go! :)

Thank you Rebecca!

About Timothy
I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. With over 15 years of experience, in both piano and voice, I've had to opportunity to perform, both domestically and internationally, with such great acts as Peter Nero and The Philly Pops, The Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, and many others. I served as lead singer, pianist, and co-songwriter for a number of independent bands covering numerous genres including, but not limited to, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Acoustic, and A Capella.

Since moving to Washington DC, I've immersed myself within the local music community playing a handful of group and solo acts. I currently maintain a home music studio well equipped with musical instruments and music technology. I'm constantly practicing, writing, and recording to improve myself as an artist.

My teaching style
is unique and individualized to each student. I set personalized goals to make every lesson a success, and I push my students to get the most out of themselves just like I do myself. I'm always enthusiastic and humor driven to create a personable learning environment for students of any age. Music is my life, and I'm so thrilled to have the opportunity to share my greatest passion with the hope that my students, too, will fall in love with music!

*** Lesson Details ***
My lesson environment is laid back and stress-free. I like my students to feel inspired and encouraged as they begin or continue their music education. I introduce fun and innovative ways to build students' musicianship and creativity while retaining classical methods to develop strong technique and proper performance and practice habits.

For beginners, we'll be exploring the basics of either piano, or voice, while focusing on proper technique, basic theory, and a solid skill set. Within 3-6 months, my students are able to read music and understand the language of it.

For intermediate-advanced, we'll focus on building musicianship and skill sets by furthering studies in music theory, varying styles of repertoire, proper techniques that will greatly improve your piano and/or voice abilities, songwriting, improvisation, and live performance skills.

I ask that my students come prepared to every lesson with the motivation and commitment to learn something new each week! Lessons are a fun and creative way to discover yourself as an artist and a person, so let's get started!!

About Thomas
I have been playing drums for over 47 years. For 16 years I played and performed professionally with my band Black Widow USA. We toured the US several times in support of our two internationally released CDs. For about 30 years of my time behind a drum set I had given drum lessons on and off. But because of my super strong passion for the drums and my desire to share my knowledge of the instrument I decided to start teaching on a more regular basis about four years ago. Several of my first regular students have now gone on to do very well themselves. Drumming in bands of their own. Although I can teach most styles of drumming I have been a die hard rock and roller most of my life. With my main influences on the instrument being Carmine Appice, Don Brewer from Grand Funk, John Bonham, Ian Paice from Deep Purple and for double bass Tommy Al
dridge. So I really specialize in the old rock and roll, classic rock, hard rock and metal from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, all the way up to today's rock, metal and pop music. I believe my years of experience are valuable in relating to each students musical interests ,desires and accomplishments on the drums. After my original band Black Widow decided to go on a long break several years ago I was offered a drumming position in a local classic rock and metal cover band. So besides teaching I have continued to satisfy my love for playing drums and performing with that band. Which gigs out on a regular monthly bases.
*** Lesson Details ***
I make sure that I find out from the get go what each and every new student likes musically and what they want to learn and how far they want to go on the drums. Then I try to tailor all the lessons to each students interests and abilities. Making sure that it's fun for them in the process. This can't be work or a chore or they won't stick with it. But I will say I do believe that every beginning student who has NEVER sat behind a kit before should know and start with the fundamentals ( the building blocks so to speak) of drumming such as holding the sticks, proper stick control and technique, and how to execute some important basic rudiments and keep good time. Also I think learning to read some drum notation is important so you know and understand what you are playing when you play it, but can teach by ear also. I can also teach double bass technique if a student is interested in that.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Works space w/two drum sets, one double-bass and one single. Instruction material (books, CDs, videos). Seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
If necessary to travel to a students home, they should have a drum kit there or at least a practice pad to get started on. I will bring sticks, a metronome if needed and the necessary instruction books for the lessons. Also willing to travel to a students home if they are just getting started and need help setting up their kit or need help tuning the drums.

*** Specialties ***
Mostly specialize in beginner to intermediate ages 7 and up teaching rock ( which includes old rock and roll from the 50's, blues), classic rock ( 60's and 70's) , hard rock and metal from the 80's all the way up to today's rock, pop and metal music. Believe it or not, it's all tied together. Let me show and teach you how.

These lessons were great. Regarding drums, I was an absolute beginner, and Tommy's lessons turned out to be an excellent jump-start. I used to play keyboards and guitars before, and I enjoy picking up by ear rather than reading notation, so I really liked informal and 'non-notational' way the lessons went. There was no hard notation drill, and yet Tommy had covered most rudiments, basic techniques, and patterns needed to rock in about 10 lessons. I'd recommend this for anyone who doesn't know how to hold sticks but want to get introduced into rock drumming.

Thomas was very professional in his approach to teaching. His workplace was very clean and neat. This made us feel very comfortable and welcome. He is a personal teacher. Before any teaching took place he wanted to know my child's likes and dislikes when it came to music. This meant a lot to me. It showed me that he was interested in my son's development as a musician. It told me a lot about his character. He is not just teaching but it is interested in his students. He challenged my child while allowing him to express himself while learning and playing. When he taught he came down to his level and was very patient. This was a very positive experience for us. My son is very excited and we are looking forward to future classes. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a drum instructor.

I have been teaching guitar for 25 years in the Washington DC metro area. I work with students 12 years of age and up, but I am especially experienced at teaching adult students regardless of whether they are beginners or have previous guitar experience. I have performed in acoustic Celtic, new age, funk, progressive rock, fusion and contemporary jazz groups and am currently performing regularly as a solo acoustic guitarist. I have composed over 40 works for solo guitar as well as numerous pieces for small jazz bands. I have played on numerous CDs including my most recent solo CD 'DARK MATTER'.

*** Lesson Details ***
I tailor the lesson materials to suit the interest of the student but I am dedicated to teaching students at any level to learn to better understand the fundamentals of the language of music. My teaching focuses on critic
al fundamentals of guitar technique including chords, scales and rhythm guitar playing as well as the art of improvisation. A significant amount of time in the lessons is spent actually playing with the students so that the technical concepts are put to use in real music situations. To further the student's understanding of music I frequently teach elements of music theory to those who are interested.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have guitars and amps available for student use although I prefer that the student bring their own instrument. I also have all the needed accessories, cables, stands etc.

*** Specialties ***
Adult students (and older teenagers ) whether beginners or experienced are a particular specialty of mine. Adult learners want to be treated as adults and often times benefit greatly from a more mentor oriented approach to teaching. I like to describe myself as both a teacher and a coach so as to emphasize that the student and I are on the same team sharing the goal of improving their guitar playing and musicianship. We are both on the same path of musical discovery. I am probably just farther along on that path with insights and knowledge that will hopefully help them along their way.

Dennis has been my guitar teacher since May 2014, but he has really been much more than that. He has a great ability to create lessons that help you to understand the musical context behind the chords and notes. In the process of learning, you find yourself wanting to explore music theory and practice (not really two separate things in Dennis' world) even more, and I can honestly that I have learned so much not just from the guitar lessons themselves but but also from our conversations about music. If you want to make a long-term investment in learning the language of music and how it manifests itself on the fretboard and the vibrations of six steel/nylon strings, then I would recommend buying some of this stock!

Our 9-year old daughter has now had 5 lessons with Louis. The difference between these lessons and the lessons with her previous teacher are night and day. She is excited about the lessons, looks forward to each one, and enjoys practicing. She loves piano again. Louis is absolutely brilliant. He combines a strong classical foundation with enjoyable modern songs, which he often transposes or simplifies himself to the level of his students at that time. He makes the lessons fun and engaging. As a piano player myself, I've had many teachers over the years, and Louis is the best I've seen. I'm tempted to start lessons for myself again!

I believe anyone can play piano. I teach a combination of the Suzuki method and traditional styles. I encourage my students to develop their own style of playing while also growing in their knowledge of theory, form and technical expertise.

Are you most ready to the learn the basics? I can work with you! Are you looking to perfect the moonlight sonata? I can do that too! What about by ear and playing Billy Joel and modern music? Yep. That's fine too!

While I am an engineer during the week, there is nothing quite like watching your student be able to complete his or her first piece. This is my "fun" job. I started teaching in college several years ago while working as a nanny for several families in Virginia. In 2015 I decided to formally offer lessons alone. It's been a pleasure and success so far with students participating in co
ncerts and performing at their schools.

I am a member of the Suzuki Association of the Greater Washington Area. I have availability on Sundays in Vienna, VA and evenings in Washington, DC.

As an award winning vocalist, I know what it takes to have a great sound and technique. As a trained vocalist from Peabody and Berklee. I am able to teach what I have learned and apply it to a range of voice styles.

I have worked and studied with artist such as Richard Smallwood, Heart, Nona Hendricks, the Baltimore symphony orchestra, to name a few. For years I have worked in professional theatre and education and have taught children and adults alike how to tap into their confidence and bring out the voice they are meant to have.

Working with me, you will not only receive voice training but performance training as well. It is great to have a beautiful voice but what can you do with it if you have no stage presence?

With me you will learn
-Proper voice technique for your genre of music
-How to expand your range
-Traditional and

-Stage Presence

and that is just the beginning. No matter the age, you will succeed with me because my focus is on helping you grow.
